I love the new rover MK2 Lander variant.

For the first time yesterday, after 1,500+ hours of playing, I finally made a rover that I could actually drive around without it actually flipping over or blowing up within minutes.

Pretty much all of it was thanks to the MK2 lander rover varient, the ability to change the control direction to forward, and putting a reaction wheel on it set to “SAS only” with SAS (usually) locked to prograde

I drove about 30KM in total on the Mun and successfully made it back to the ship without anyone dieing.

I may have lost 2 headlights, a solar panel, and completely 1 wheel in the process though. :P

The only thing I forgot to put on was some RCS thrusters for slowing down on those unexpected 600 meter jumps.

The new variant looks excellent and I want to use it. On the other hand, with my current mod set I prefer other methods of building rovers; I want to use it for a new lander idea I have, but Kerbalism might make that difficult. I may have to get more creative than that to find good excuses to use it (maybe as a command point for an interplanetary transport...).

Yup - I totally LOVE the thing! :D

Rover Max is my land vehicle of choice; it's based around the MkII Rover variant.

They really did a great job when they created the thing!

Aww, you gave it eyebrows.

Why does it always look so surprised?

It's probably my favourite revamp since 1.4. Before it was teased I was beginning to plan a Mun base and I was like 'oh no, how am I going to create useful rovers without a ton of mods?'. Then this came along!

of course, I haven't even been able to build that base yet because procrastination  But I will get to it eventually :P
