It is a great video.  Guy has a couple others in this series on very different subjects and very good as well.  But this one just encapsulates the core of racing.

Not to derail Triops thread, but I was watching that race live when it happened.   The next day I had a trauma exam in Medic school, and we had to describe the exact injuries he would have suffered, in detail.

No more madness, team Trouble Maker keeps it safe, added 2 rockets and 2 sepratrons + chutes.

At the end, saw the lower 2 Twitch LF rocket engines go poof, probably from rock-back caused by the 'chutes.

Good to see him wearing a helmet, not a bad 2nd run team Trouble Maker. 08:70

As you noticed when racing my Rocket Sled 2 "Serious Buzziness", in the future I suggest the teams off-load some fuel, both liquid and maybe solid, so they burnout just at or shortly after the finish.  If they don't want to set up Races and a kilometre sprint track, they can just look north and roughly gauge it when they go past the first off-ramp to the SPH.  They'll accelerate faster, stop quicker, and turn in faster times.

Whoa.   Rewatching....

EDIT: It doesn't show the crash, but does show the wreck with what I assume was the other vehicle involved beside it.  Both had front-end damage, with Dale's car showing greater smash-back on the driver's side.  The other driver dismounted right away....  I'm thinking injuries from a straight-in slightly offset crumple....

But yeah, it is getting away from fun racing Kerbals.

We decided to convert the driven times into points, 8 points for #1, 7 points for #2 etc etc, 0 points for DNF.

Scoreboard:

#1 Team Helter Skelter: 6 + 8 =         14 points

#2 Team Trigger Happy: 7 + 6 =        13 points

#3 Team Panic Attack: 8 + 0 =           8 points

#4 Team Booster Bucket: 5 + 3 =      8 points

#5 Team Master Blaster:  3 + 5 =      8 points

#6 Team Trouble Maker: 0 + 7 =       7 points

#7 Team Black Mail: 2 + 4 =              6 points

#8 Team Sledge Hammer: 4 + 0 =   4 points

Next up: Round 3.

Round 3 was supposed to be a dragrace where teams are allowed to test their speed demons.

But after seeing some teams where adding moarrr boosters, we decided to stop this upcoming bloodbath and we came up with a much safer event for round 3. . .

THE HIGH JUUUUUUUUMP

Testing the event with my El Kamino, 124 meters, not bad.

Still needs some work, Kerbal Konstructs is not helping, need more testing, and parachutes.

To prevent the teams from using rockets while in the air, we are only going to allow Sepratrons.

I got rid of Bandicam, I'm using OBS Studio from now, thanks to the person who tipped me this, I forgot who that was, but we need it to show how high the rods will go.

Preperations are allmost complete, we changed the angle of the ramp a bit and are about to testdrive it.

Next up, Round 3, jump #1: Sledge Hammer, position 8 with 4 points.

What do you think of Bandicam versus OBS Studio ?

What can go wrong . . . ^_^

Well, as I was testing yesterday and today, some of the vehicles just insisted on going off the runway to the right and airborne.  Took out the SPH twice and the SPH Tanks once.

I foresee a need for prefab VAB sections....

To get to know OBS It took me watching a Youtube video to figure out why I kept recording a black screen....

I was used to Bandicam, didn't mind the watermark until today, I need to show how high the cars go and the logo blocks that information.

I'm glad I switched though, it looks better.

I'm no youtuber, I only record videos for the forum.

Nah, I think the Ratpack will fly over before they hit it.

Who am I kidding....

Taking some time to do stuff for myself, I hacked the M1-F rover wheel and gave it some moarrrr oemph.

If I may, OBS is the only screen recording software Ives used. Once past the initial setup it’s easy to use. Even able to live stream with multiple sources for video and audio. i.e. Inter’s Odyssey on YouTube

Ah, you tipped me, thanks for that, It is indeed easy to use, free,  and has no watermark. ^_^

I’d say double the numbers. Lol

how is it working out for you with the modification on the wheels? I tried to do this with one of my wheels a while back and it didn’t like it. Lol

It needs A LOT of tuning, torque, wheels, dampers, I don't know where to start . . .

You can download the original here:

The NASKAR file :

The converted xenontank works but the wheeltorque configuration does not, so you have to copy this into your partfile.

I've got the Roversound mod working for the M1-F rover wheel, found the solution on the forum:  by @pizzaoverhead:

"The full release of the mod will have sounds for all the stock wheels. Adding new wheel sounds to stock or mod parts is easy. Just open the ModuleManager_WheelSounds.cfg file in the "WheelSounds" folder and add a new section for each wheel."

That worked. &)

Right now I'm working on changing the M1-F rover wheel colours, the camo mod doesn't work on them.

Still needs work . . .

Rat rod high jump coming soon.

ROUND 3 JUMP 1: "Sledge Hammer"

The car with the lowest points gets to start of this event; Logal Kerman driving Sledge Hammer, 4 points.

The team added 6 sepratrons for their jump, will it be enough or too much ?

WHAT A JUMP !

Very sneaky from Team Sledge Hammer to activate some sepratrons when airbourne.

I told the teams they could use sepratrons, but not when to use them, so it's legit.

The first high-jump result: 153 meters

Next up, Team Black Mail, with their new driver, Kerwell Kerman. 4 sepratrons and 3 parachutes.

JUMP #2 : Team Black Mail

I was suprised the new driver wasn't wearing a helmet after what happened, I guess the team got their confidence back.

Didn't help much, 120 meters is not enough.

My guess is that the remaining teams will use 6 or moarrr sepratrons on their cars.

Next up: Team Trouble Maker.

105 meters, without using the ramp . . .
