Is anyone else having trouble with the game crashing and corrupting the saved game, so you can't reload the game. I've only just started using this mod and could be missing something. Any help would be nice.

If you are running 1.12, wait until it is updated.

Well what's in your game data folder?

The required mods are:

Kopernicus

Modular flight integrator (Bundled with Kopernicus)

CTTP (Bundled with OPM)

OPM (Duh)

And Module Manager (Bundled with Kopernicus)

If you have all those and it's still not working, try uninstalling and reinstalling them, sometimes it's no more than a little download mistake.

I think that’s a Kopernicus thing.

The author hasn’t changed it yet. It’s more than likely fine as long as you have the right Kopernicus version.

I've been running it on 1.12 and now 1.12.1 without issues - including on a heavily modded save.

Kopernicus as of late last year didn't have support for comets after the stock comet system was implemented in 1.10. I don't know if it was ever resolved, you should ask R-T-B in the Kopernicus thread.

Actually I’ll just tell you now. Go to the kopernicus folder in your game data and then find the asteroids config file, then change the area where it says your setup, type Stock.

@DaBakonAder In the Kopernicus thread, they say the stock asteroid spawner only works for stock systems, so the Kopernicus spawner is enabled by default.
With this mod installed (which modifies the stock system), does the stock asteroid spawner work? Is the Kopernicus system really broken?

Ok I figured it out. Follow these Steps

 

1: Go to your Kopernicus Folder, and then into Config. If your on windows just paste this into the file location bar thing:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\Kopernicus\Config

(this only works if your on steam btw)

2: Open Kopernicus_Config.CFG

3: Change "UseKopernicusAsteroidSystem = true" to "UseKopernicusAsteroidSystem = false"

sorry it took forever, i forgot how it worked.

@DaBakonAder In the 'Kopernicus' thread, the maintainer commented that for this mod (OPM), we should use "Stock" in this settings!

Now, I'm confused!

I think that's correct, you should use "UseKopernicusAsteroidSystem = Stock".  As I understand it, true uses the Kopernicus asteroid spawner, false uses no spawner, and Stock uses the stock spawner.

This is correct.

I wish I could make it make more sense but haven't come up with a more intuitive way to make a trisetting like that, lol.

 

By the way, that value can be changed by a modulemanager cfg, if OPM's maintainer wants to just autochange it to the "correct" thing for users, he could.  Just an idea.
