Am i the crazy one here? Because i'm starting to feel like i'm in the twilight zone.

If people were completely happy with a product as is, then modding communities would not exist.

So what exactly is my faux pas?

What is this love it or get out attitude?

I was just answering your question.  If I knew of any visual packs I would have told you.

It may have seemed dismissive since JNSQ is/contains it's own visual pack.

I do remember a tweak for sun brightness when using effects mods like KS3P (or maybe JUST that one), but that may have only been for space brightness.

I've been looking around and its seems Ad Astra has not been updated and i think AVP is stock systems only. Any help would be appreciated

 

Ad Astra works fine in 1.8.1, just read the readme carefully. Nobody on the Ad Astra topic seems to be able to do that. 

I personnaly wouldn't recommend it though, your fps take a serious hit ( not like I have much to spare anyway ) and it can look pretty ... weird.

I think you'd better go with TUFX, with zorg's config, it might lighten the mood a bit and it adds some cool visual effects.

Thanks, more than visual effects, i guess I'm looking for some contrast and saturation on kerbin. I'll give TUFX a try.

I think you may like it -- It comes with a few presets, and if you add Zorg's, you can easily toggle around to see what suits your style, or pause for some great screenshots:

I think I'm missing something, guys.  I've got a clean install of KSP 1.10 with nothing but Kopernicus 1.9.1-6 and JNSQ 0.9 installed, but I'm not seeing any new celestial bodies in the solar system.  Am I doing something wrong?  Is there something I can look for in the KSP log file?

I believe that R-T-B and Prestja began version locking Kopernicus 1.9 builds again, but R-T-B has a "bleeding edge" build for 1.10 @ https://github.com/R-T-B/kopernicus/releases

Thanks, I'll take a look.  Is that why Nyan Cat flies around the screen if you use a 1.9.1 built of Kopernicus?

This is very normal when your installed (and version locked) Kopernicus does not agree with your KSP version. Or National Cat Day came twice this year.

Got it.  I did get it working with the "bleeding edge" Kopernicus.

If anyone's interested, I was able to pull in the data from JNSQ (via KSP) and use my KSPTOT tool to find a great little Kerbin -> Eve -> Jool -> Nara flyby.  It only uses 2.9 km/s and all of the gravity assists are unpowered.

Yep.  Nyan Cat goes crazy if using an unsupported version of Kopernicus.

It's really a bad idea to use Kopernicus on a version it's not intended for, it's configured in the source to match a specific version's data, hence us locking it.  It was kind of a mistake that we ever stopped.  We offer tons of options though so if you really need it on the latest, you can have it, as you figured out.

FWIW I test JNSQ almost religiously as the first mod when I make builds.  They may not support it, but I test in it a lot, so it PROBABLY works fine. ;)  It's also my mod of choice for my personal 1.9.1 game.

And yeah, the muted visuals?  I find them "realistic" and pleasing, but YMMV.  People like different things... and there are lots of options.  That's what's great about modding.

The stock asteroids have been deleted and replaced.  So position relative to the stock game is irrelevant.  I think we overdid it with the number of asteroids.  I've rewritten the asteroid configs for the next release, whenever that comes.

Does Dres still get it's dresteroids?

 

also yeah you might've overdone the asteroid amount, the amount of asteroids near and passing through kerbin SOI is straight up scary in my case :p
