Cannot quicksave while about to crash issue

One of the recent updates to the game won't let you quicksave before crashing your craft, and its detection of you 'about to crash' is very buggy sometimes refuses to let you quicksave even while flying normally! Is there anyway to disable this??

"About to crash" and "flying normally" are one and the same.

It's actually been in the game for a long time but maybe they tweaked it and made it too generous. I've not played 1.9 enough, and don't fly enough planes, to have ever experienced this, but I have quick saved while flying them plenty of times.

Can anybody confirm if this is truly a new issue with planes or maybe @RYU AZUKU99 is having a unique issue?

Well.. I've noticed the same issue when I was circumnavigating Kerban in a helicopter. It didn't happen every time, but I've experienced situations where I missed a crucial quicksaves due to this "bug" and i had to redo hours of work.

No idea how new this is but there appears to be a chance to quicksave (multiple times) following takeoff at between 300m and 400m. After that a minimum of 500m AGL seems to be a cutoff for quicksaving. But there may be others.

500m can be changed to whatever you like in settings.cfg.

QUICKSAVE_MINIMUM_ALTITUDE = 500

As a fan of things like "finish your interplanetary mission flying spaceplane under the RND bridge and land on the VAB for extra style points" I changed this value to 50
