I'm afraid changing the value would affect all users. Vessel mass will decrease and delta-v increase on existing vessels.

I’ll probably look into a user friendlier difficulty setting for that, so everyone can choose for themselves.

With this update you should be able to build every NA/EU/RU LV and their variants, with Bluedog, TantaresLV and Knes configs doing a lot of heavy lifiting - Knes SRB's will have different performance configs tied to different fuel amounts, the "all in one for every variant" type engines from Knes have been given configs for each IRL variation, so there truly is a difference between the Arianes or Diamants you build. TantaresLV configs allow you to configure the variations of the Soyuz rocket from its humble, struggly sputnik beginnings to its modern counterparts.  RCS should be freely configurable across all configs and any parts where ElectricCharge and a fuel type are on one part should include the electric charge in the fuel tank.

Massive thanks  to be thrown at the BDB and RO teams and of course Vali.

Any idea when this release is coming out?

Finalizing some of the stats, fixing some resource flow modes and checking plumes.  There's a few engines whose effects I need to check. It shouldn't take long, should be finalized by the end of the week.  A testable version is at https://github.com/Bellabong/RealFuels-Stock.

RealFuels says

Quote

RCS are pressure-fed engines.

However I can use the default tank (not "highy pressurized") for RCS to work, as long as I configure them to use Aerozine50 instead of Hydrazine. I think RCS are OP compared to "Propulsion Systems" small engines, which suffers from ullage and most are pressure fed. Is this intended?

Also RealFuels says that RCS should be configured to type "L" for RCS-specific multipiers. The "HotGasThruster-M" and "L" engines however are configured to "O" instead.

Hello,

I've been really enjoying this mod, but I noticed that the orbital engines for the soyuz spacecraft from Tantares require high pressure tanks, but the fuel tank on the engine itself and the service compartment are not pressurized, so the engine cannot start with a regular soyuz craft

Tantares is being looked at :) many vehicles have been overhauled and I may need to bump its status from an update to a rework although I'll leave the existing engines for the most part as they are

No problem. Honestly, I thought I would help a bit.  There's a misplaced bracket in line 1837 for RF_BDB_Delta.cfg that broke the emerald booster.   I suppose I can make pull requests If you prefer, I'll be using the mod a lot. I may have a few questions about how the code is structured.

Good catch, I was wondering why the patch count was slightly less than expected, for this specific one a PR isn't needed but thanks!

No problem, actually thank you, for making configs for my favorite mods, especially KNES.  Really got me back into the game.

a couple of bugs I've noticed while testing your latest Bluedog Design Bureau configs:

- none of the SRBs can be shut down

- the Staara-31-IIIA 'Satevis' SRB engine uses SolidFuel but its tank is only capable of storing HTPB, a propellant it cannot use; the engine therefore does not work

- the Diocsuri-4 'Dzira' SRB engine uses PBAN but its tank is only capable of storing PSPC, and this SRB also cannot work as a result

- the Codac PAD4R 'Marquardt' monopropellant engine uses stock Monopropellant resource, no matter what configuration the engine is in, and will not work unless its tank is filled with stock Monoprop

Cheers! The first and last one were due to some missing brackets, and the second one was a paste oversight. They're fixed now. Weird how the one for the lunar orbiter snuck in - I flew it a few moths ago!

As for SRB's not shutting down, none can in RF. Literally doesn't compute. Unless you want them to be infinitely restartable, but that's undesirable behaviour from SRB's for a realism enhancing mod. I think I specifically enabled this ability though on SRB ullage motors that stay on stages needed for later burns - the engines presence can mess with Principia burn calculations.

Some bugs in knes_L3S:

The L-140, L-220 don't have multipliers for their tanks (@volume *= 5 ), I think there were a few others with missing multipliers. Without them the engines lose fuel very quickly.

Many of the engines have no sound (mostly the liquid engines including the Ariane 4 main engines, I couldn't fix this one, and I'm not sure how to go about it. Perhaps it's a conflict. Not at the computer right now to check.

I can be more precise later today

Yeah seems I only put pack in the multipliers for L220N and misread the running sound for the Ariana 1-4 first stages. The sound of these and the HM60 shouldn't have worked as I linked the running effect to running_closed (I only tested the loose Ariane engines) and not running however the rest  of the engines in the mod do have sound for me. Do you have waterfall installed? I may have to patch for the sound of a realplume only installation (The BDB configs have it since they're from before Waterfall, I just had to make sure the right effects were linked.

I have waterfall, I got them working. Like you said, it's the runningeffectname in the file.

Thank you! Little bugs aside, really enjoying it

The power of RF, featuring a Methane F1B, MethaFLOX RL10's and a Hydroflourine AJ10-133. From being able to do a free return with standard fuels to being able to capture and escape the Mun! Tier 7 tech though >.>

This may be related to the issue I had reported on github and is probably a conflict.  I can't access the engine UI for most of BDB's engines except the "Regor" F1.

I'll be starting brand new soon and scrubbing my mod list to a smaller amount. I'll compare the old list and see if I can find the source of the problem and report it here.

Ah you're re-installing, I was going to ask if you could find a BDB engine in your module manager config and show me how it looks. The only thing I can think of is that a mod may be modifying the ModuleEnginesRF back into ModuleEnginesFX (Real-plume-stock patches do this, which is why you should only have the base realplume installed, we use the realplume-stock configs for engines) or changing the ID of the engine (Waterfall patches can do this - half the Knes engines have an ID of Rutherford...). I tried to take care that all the engineID's referenced are correct for the mods waterfall patches. (This also future-proofs them for RocketSoundEnhancement, since it deals with engineID's)

I seem to be unable to upgrade any engine. Is this a known issue for anyone? Or a setting I missed somewhere maybe?

I do run a heavily modded game based on lrtr atm but everything else works perfectly.

Similar request to the one above. Now are you referring to the techlevel upgrades as part of Realfuels (which ends up as a thrust boost in most cases) or the individual engine variants of the engine?

or does the ability to get to these menu's not show up at all?

I'm still looking into it and haven't reinstalled yet. Looking at the ModuleManager log, some parts are not being configured. I just concentrated on one particular engine to try to get the gist of the problem: the "Grivan" bluedog_Saturn_Engine_H1C. In the MM log, the engine is being configured as a "non configured part" under 000_GlobalPatches...even though the part is named and seemingly configured perfectly in the RF config file. I'm still a novice with how Kerbal .cfg's work, but it seems a little suspect to me, It should work. Maybe I have the wrong version of BDB (official 1.81)?! I've been getting a weird error ever since I started RF, with the BDB redstone and upperstage cfg's. all having to do with reading the variable thrust call on the cfg's, I really didn't pay much attention to it, work in progress and all.

Like the other person, I get nothing at all to configure the engine. As in the Global patch, it is set to Kerosene/LOX however.

I still have a few mods to uninstall and try

I'm not sure you want to waste time going through a massive mm.cfg list, BDB alone takes up half of it with it's compatibility patches. But  I can provide one if you like

No need, at least in the case of the Grivan, my latest update to add methane to the F1B had one too many closing brackets. That part did have like 6 brackets to keep part of as I had to dig deep into the B9Partswitch module.
