[SOLVED] KSP freezes after few minutes of inactivity

Recommended Posts

So I will be participating in @Misguided_Kerbal's JNSQ Space Race here. But my computer has been freezing with a message in the logs:

Spoiler

[WRN 16:30:05.391] Internal: JobTempAlloc has allocations that are more than 4 frames old - this is not allowed and likely a leak
[WRN 16:30:05.391] To Debug, enable the define: TLA_DEBUG_STACK_LEAK in ThreadsafeLinearAllocator.cpp. This will output the callstacks of the leaked allocations

After checking the forums of other games, they all agree that it has something to do with Unity.

Oh, and my specs are:

OS: Windows 10

CPU: Intel Pentium

RAM: 8GB

GPU: Intel Graphics 510

Install The ZeroMiniAVC mod, you probably have one or more mods installed which have the MiniAVC.dll, broken since 1.8

Yup. Another sympthom, now to avoid it from freeze at the begining once you hear the KSP theme, quickly click something.

( Yes you have to guard it )

Oh no, it's freezing just as it's done loading.

Would it be a good idea to move JNSQ out, and then create my save, and then put JNSQ back in afterwards?

JNSQ is the most intensive.

big spike in CPU

The ´´ 4 frames old ´´ line means that what are you seeing on your screen is 4 frames back that the simulation itself, so the CPU tries to sync it back but in the process KSP interfers trying to take away the old simulation so there is always the most recent one, and the old one goes directly into the garbage collector, and this problem exists since it was updated in 1.8.0.

Be sure to check carefully my thread where the main discussion is, so that you can understand whats happening.

You are probably running out of memory.

Make sure that all other programs are closed,  try the base game.  If it wo RT is, then add the DLC.

JNSQ is probably too much for your computer, it needs a lot of ram

Which is strange, because in a session I was able to run all the mods for 1 hour, also built a SERV.

I also use Task Manager to put KSP at high priority, which will give it more resources.

Priority only affects cpu.  Memory is hard to pinpoint, because you probably weren't keeping track of what else was running.

Well, for me I have 12GB of RAM and a 2.50Ghz CPU and a SSD in my laptop, I always close everything before running KSP, but if I want to do a replica of something I use OBS and TurboTop, anyway, we need your KSP.lg and the Player.log to fully see the problem, if you read carefully my thread you can see that there is a conflict on the Assemblies of the mods ( Second page in there ) I also see that KSP 1.10 reduces the posibilities of the freeze to be ( I call them TLAs )

But since JNSQ is a priority that option keeps onto the last one to do.

For now, just the logs please :)
