I know I said this wasn't about real time and all, but it's been a long while since anyone posted here, so I'm going to have to set a deadline: if I don't get an update from you all by the end of the week (16 Jan) I'm going to have to declare the Gaelan Space Race over and @jinnantonix the winner.

I am amazed that nobody else has taken this on.  Although it required some time and commitment, it's the most fun challenge I have completed to date.
