White is Negatives, Green is Positives, The battle is for the Island in the bottom-right (the white-green part of it), which belonged to the Positives.

And no atomicTech, you did post before me (sorry)

But I'll stop if you want :)

Enjoy the map!

Well, I didn't post any numbers.

I do like the map!

We should talk to a Kopernicus dev and see if we could make a planet with a map adapted from it!

Er, it's 2D and not adapted for 3D.

I made a small program to show a planet i Python using OpenGL, in which a 2D planisphere in mapped into a 3D sphere, but the rotations were buggy and there was like .3 fps.

Now trying to do it in C, but it's very slow — I spent the last month trying to compile a test program for SDL and only today did the program do what I wanted.

Now it's place to programming stuff!

But slow to program.

Because I'm using SDL to do something called "Desktop Fireworks", but I can't tell you more...

So I have to simultaneous projects.

I added castles to my map. Choose a name for the Positive Fortress in the south-east!

What should I add now?

Start thiking of the names of the Positive Islands, Regions, Cities, Fortresses...

I think a medieval-fantasy setting is a good idea, with wizards summoning numbers that fight.

Try to invent the geography of your Positive Lands, including the ones of the south-east!

Assets I used, beside GIMP and Tiled:

Negative Capital can be named "Aeliae"

What do you think of it?

It's a name I use whenever I talk about a big city in a snowy area.

For countries I have Scyridyl, Rituadel, Eatar...

I think that the history of the lands should be this. They were all once part of the nation called the great number, but then the positives became the rulers and they made new laws saying that negatives had to psy more taxes. Later that year, the negative revolution began, the result, was several years of brutal trench warfare . But in the end none of it mattered, the mighty supervisors of the planet halted the war when it became too brutal too continue. And for a few more years, the negatives and positives were at peace, but then to second war came.

the second great number war was just as violent as it predecessor, lasting  600 years while the first one lasted 825. The second war ended in a decisive victory for the negatives although there would be no peace, for war was coming again.

I prefer this:

Spoiler

Then there was an awfully cold winter, and the war stopped. The Negatives, unable to spend the cold months in a land ruled by the Positives, clandestinely settled to an unsettled land in the south-western regions of the Number Empire. But they never forgot.

A few years later, as the weather became much warmer, the war went on again. The Negatives won the war and got a territory, the "Snowy Lands" named because there always was snow (and the associated flora, snow trees etc.) there. Wherever the Negatives stayed, there was snow, because of a curse of great magic from the beginning of the First Number War by the most powerful Positive Wizard. But the Negatives accomodated. They learnt to live with the Snow. They were called "the Winter Numbers", "The Snow Numbers" or "The White Numbers".

The First Number War lasted for 3 years and the Second, 5.

The third war was started by the Positives to recover their lost territories, after ten years of peace.

On the following map, the white regions are original Negative lands, the green ones are the lands that belong to the Positive Empire after end of Round 2 yesterday, and the "mix" ones are th territories taken by the Negatives since the start of the Third number War.

The Negatives won the north-western island during the first battle, lost it during the second, and got it back during the third. After 4th February (official date of the fourth battle), they won the island in the center and in the fifth battle they won the eastern island, as shown on the map.

The battle now is for a part of the south-eastern land, including the castle in it.
