SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here

So I finally decided to take a break from building military craft, as my creative juices began flowing slightly towards the civilian sector... Here is a station I built, along with a nifty little VTOL SSTO shuttle. The station sits in LKO at 130km, and features a full interior lounge, two observatories, 11 docking ports (5 std, 4 jr, 2 lg), and lodging for 20 kerbals (max capacity 30).

My original intent was to build a functional, aesthetically pleasing space station to act as refueling station / transfer point / kerbonaut hub, all while keeping the part count under 250. Well, as always, the part count was higher than intended, though at ~370 it is still manageable and is able to serve its purposes with minimal lag. I would even venture to say that I could have 5 shuttles, 4 probes, and two larger ships docked at the same time without overwhelming lag.

I'm pretty proud of it, but I really wish I had done a better job with the lighting, both interior and exterior... It currently has the name "Terminal One", though I think that's a pretty boring name... and the shuttle doesn't have a name... IDEAS?

Let me know what you guys think, and whether or not I should build more stations in HKO and Mun / Minmus orbits. Thanks! :)

Edit: As with all of my crafts, this is 100% stock.

My first completed centrifugal-type station. I used Infernal Robotics "tall powered hinge" devices to connect modules in each quarter-section. Unfortunately, these parts did something wonky and didn't stay at their attachment points on all the modules, so the station has a bit of a ragged look.

The next picture is just after I docked the last quarter-section module, but before bending the last two quarter-sections around to make their second connection point.

The station includes 4 greenhouses where Snacks! are grown, and 20 hitchhiker modules, for a crew capability of 81.

This is the ZSA ZSS, It is still less than 1/2 done, but looking pretty even still.

Here's how my station's progressing. I've extended the original design by adding a new habitation module as well as a tricoupler hub. Each of the spacedocks pictured was put up in a single launch:

Gah, those spacedocks would have been a headache for me, even when using mods to get them up...good job!

Bill and Jeb survived the trip down and the station had parachutes.

Phew... That's good to hear... I was afraid that you did what a few others in here did and literally sacrificed their station crews and deorbited the station with everyone still aboard...

Working on building a new style of station: I call it the Hobo-Station.

Basically, instead of docking the modules together like a normal Kerbal, I just get them close to each other and connect them via KAS.

Will post pics later :)

sounds rather dangerous...I think I'll stick to my good old hard docking
