Team Yankee is in 1985, it’s based off of a book of the same name. I’m painting my army in a modern US Army scheme with my friend, who is going to paint a modern Russian army. Our campaign is set in the near future, so I’m going to likely use the M106. But I could just say that the Army was forced to pull some M113s out of storage due to combat losses of Bradley Fighting Vehicles. The M113s are pretty decent in the game, as they are a points cheap unit that can carry troops but they aren’t that good at the same time due to their weak armor. The boosters are extra long as they do cross feed to first stage. They do this having 3 tanks in each of the side boosters, top is fuel or oxidiser who top up the core until tanks is empty. That thing is so kerbal. Not entire sure how 3rd stage works here, I assume it would burn and jettison the 3 boosters on it first then use core of 3rd stage. My friend just got a T-72 Battalion for Team Yankee, and he is going to try to paint them as accurate as possible. We would appreciate it. Kimera Industries
Last Saturday I bought a 1:72 Supermarine Spitfire MkVc from Airfix. It'll be here sometime next month. I made sure I grabbed a beginner's kit because I am trying out the hobby.

SunlitZelkova
@Kimera Industries This was my first plastic model. I made it ten years ago. Even with some paint having rubbed off during construction during accidents with the cement and an unpainted pilot, it came out pretty good, IMO. The detailed molds of Tamiya models do quite a bit of work. Wear and tear due to poor display methods led to decals chipping over the decade. What your seeing is basically six colors: IJN green, IJN tan, metallic blue, bare metal aluminum, black, and flat black. As I said in the other thread, good results can be achieved even with limited palette, if your budget prevents you from acquiring all of the needed paints. I haven't built any 1/72 Tamiya aircraft though, so it's possible the required ones are fewer than this 1/48 model. Good luck with your Spitfire, and have fun! Kimera Industries
I told everyone this in the "What happened in your life today" thread, but I figured I could go into more detail here. My first model, a 1:72 Spitfire, finally arrived. I started working on it yesterday. The construction is very simple (will definitely go harder next time) but that means it is advancing quickly. So far I've only had to paint in one color. I don't know how the numbering system works, but it's green and the container has '30' printed on the side. Also, I got plastic cement all over my arm after only cementing 2 pieces together. (I lived.) It's been a lot of fun so far, so I will definitely be doing this more in the future.
