Eclipse 32
*GROWL* i was messing around with FFT, and had build at NSWR craft, and was building a launcher, when the family computer that i was playing on decided to do a full restart. thankfully, i had saved the NSWR craft, so all that was lost was the launcher. buuttttt idk the password for the aforementioned family PC, so i'm locked out. Kevin_kerman
I just worked on unique long range Rover designs for my interstellar colony mission, still haven't found one that I like
Kevin_kerman
NSWR is one of my FAVORITE things from FFT, it's also really simple to use, only needing 1 fuel

Eclipse 32
random recent fail chain: TP'd a prototype grand tour ship to Moho to test some landers, and attempted to land the first lander. ran out of fuel a few meters above the surface, and it fell over, loosing one of the ascent engines. all crew survived. landed the other lander, successfully, about a kilometer away.(idk the exact distance, cus the indicators are borked for some reason) then attempted to jetpack Jeb over to the lander, and killed him by slamming him into a hill at 50 m/s. then attempted to fly the working lander over the other, crashed lander, and utterly failed, completely vaporizing the only working lander. then just loaded the last hardsave i made, which was before i launched the mission. what did i take away from this? i need to work on my lander design. I went 612.921 MPH or 986.4007338 KMH. that's nothing. i very nearly broke the sound barrier on the water. i don't remember the exact speed, but it was 300+ m/s. i was using a hovercraft mod, tho
Eclipse 32
@panzer1b, for your next ship could you clip a whole bunch of firework launchers in the front and make a planet killer?

Batavia
Completed the final boss of Ksp, Eve landing and return This mission took me 1.5 months and many tears to do, will be my last eve landing return mission for a while.
SchwinnTropius
Successfully flew a helicopter with my old Logitech joystick for the first time. Managed to hop between the Launchpad and VAB a few times just for the practice. I built a simple bicopter with a probe and a seat in the center so I knew the thing would be symmetrical, then I started hooking up my joystick so I could practice with it and the bicopter. After days of studying KSP choppers and hours toying with the chopper and joystick, I actually flew without crashing. HullcamVDS provided the much-needed first-person view regardless of whether I had a pilot or not. I have to say, never expected the GTA games to actually help me with something in KSP. Congratulations to this achievement. How did you managed to land on landing legs? I tried several constructions, but my rocket was always unstable on the ground. At the end, I had to land on fuel tanks.
Batavia
1 hour ago, DennisB said: How did you managed to land on landing legs? I landed very softly at around 0.5 m/s, and i also picked a very flat and non - slopey surface to land on. I'd recommend you using construction parts as landing gear tho, cuz they have high durability and have flat sides ( if your landing on a hilly area just use landing gear) And also use autostrut to make your craft more rigid. Hope this helps Edited December 5 by Batavia

Eclipse 32
@Lisias, oof. speaking of the mun, i managed to make an encounter first try a day or two ago. messed around with KFS, and managed to fly through it's SoI in under 30 seconds with a gravitic drive and booster mode engaged. Duke MelTdoWn
Hi, after a year away from the game I was motivated to deal with some unfinished business. The 'Gargantua' Mining System has entered production after I completed two more test flights! If you feel the urge to haul 180 tons of ore from the Mun to Kerbin orbit, here is the model: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3380142778 The main advance compared to Behemoth is that the mining gear now stays permanently on the Mun surface in a Rover. This improves the payload fraction of the system. Edited Friday at 02:21 PM by Duke MelTdoWn
Eclipse 32
embed the images? also started a career save yesterday with KFS, Blueshift, FFT, NFP(near future propulsion), SSPXr, and prob a few others i'm forgetting. oh, and freeIVA. love that thing. Scarecrow71
Very short day at the LKSA today. Started the Gemini program by sending a probe up and into Minmus' SOI. Collected some science and unlocked a couple of nodes in the 160 tier. The big thing today was nearly losing the probe in Kerbin's atmosphere due to plasma effects. Yep, I've got the plasma option turned on, so I wasn't able to hold retrograde on SAS. Nearly burned up when the thing turned sideways. Thankfully the thing held and I got it down safe. Ish. Tomorrow I'll continue the Gemini program by putting at least 1 satellite in orbit of Minmus, as well as sending a lander up there.
