The Russian governmentt starts an R&D program "Brain, health, intellect, innovations" of the brain-implanted microchips development.

The chips will allow to interact and manage the external devices directly by thoughts.
Such devices as exoskeletons, avatars, cars, planes, nuclear plants,

2029, 54 bln RUR (0.74 bln USD).

So, by the 18th aniversary of KSP the Russian users  will be able to play KSP without mice and keyboards.

Well it's either that or tumors...with the centers being microchips.

At least it happens to pets I have read.

Keeping up with the Joneses eh? Or should I say.....don't want me to say it?

Aw well...I will anyway! Musk!

Which is kind of impressive no? Countries be like, "We gotta keep up with Musk!"

Not, "We gotta keep up with this or that country."

Just Musk LOL.

Btw this proves that vaccination is not chipisation. No liquid chips available.

In Russia

Every 'Murkin knows Bill Gates and George Soros worked with a cabal of ancient necromancers and Italian UFO experts to produce the ' vaccine ' being injected into the arms of unsuspecting patriots

(it's true - I saw that on Facebook before last year!)

Or old people, according to the Russian hammer-and-sickle crowd.

But the whole slew of articles where nuclear scientists gushed to Putin that SQUID magnetometers can read minds was extremely amusing... Oddly, I can't find them anyomre, even thiugh they're from the same daily that broke this BCI story.

In 90% of cases would stay at zero.
In 9% would chaotically bouncing back and forth and break the tool.
And just in 1% of cases would actually work for people who think in Morse code.

In other news: Boston Dynamics has been acquired by Hyundai.

Spot the robot dog gets a new owner as Hyundai completes acquisition of Boston Dynamics (msn.com)

Which makes sense: they're working on a 'walking car' concept (which I think is really cool - even if it is absurdly slow) and it needs a bit more 'dynamic' response to be feasible.

Well, I'm not surprised that methods for optimizing production flow for making large holes in sheet-metal work also fairly well for making tiny holes people.

Yes, except its not as scary, its
Its MPR_ils127_FRONT.jpg
Not necromancers who make it cuter but even more weird :)
Sorry could not resist.

The US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence requested a report from the DNI and the DoD on UFOs. It was released today after being anticipated (and hyped) for a while. We've had a lot of suspicious sightings over here which are likely drones and balloons from our friends in Beijing, come to benevolently observe our military's operations. It appeared no one in the chain of command was paying attention, so the Senate said, "Do something!" This report is the result.

I don't think there's a Russian translation... Or a Chinese one. ^_^

So here’s a question. Suppose you had a clustered rocket like the Electron or Falcon 9, set up as a sustainer stage.

Could you start out with the engines gimbals pointed straight down and then gradually gimbal the engines inward to approximate an aerospike/altitude-compensating nozzle?

Pointless for most cars but an simplified version for extreme offroad. Much more useful on an small drones as terrain get much more rugged if your small.

I do not pretend to know as much as some...and that includes you, but sadly I think the answer is no.

I mean it would be great if it were that simple. I even wish it was.

The problem is that rocket exhaust is expandy messy stuff, and as it goes higher I think it will flare out more than an aerospilke, simply because an aerospike is a lot tighter than plumes that want to flare out anyway.

I'm someone who enjoys really out of the way places - and now that I'm older, being able to drive in (and out) sounds cool.

... 'and out' is important.  Getting a 4WD tow truck to pull you out of a stupid place you have driven into is expensive.

Don't ask me why I had to learn that lesson twice

How much damage would a continous fired plasma beam traveling at10,000 kilometers per second do in space to the moon's surface?

Ignore how you get the beam to stay compressed in space for that long.

Plasma is wispy stuff, but I imagine the damage to be much the same as reentry...only beam spot size.

Am I right? This is nota blast weapon, just a really good scorcher right?

Idk the gimbal angle limits of the Falcon engines, but SSME is limited with 10.5°, and others are also <= 10°.

cos(10°) ~= 0.985

So, it could decrease the throttle  down to (1 + 2 * 0.985) / (1 + 2) = 0.99 of max, which is just 1 percent of difference.

None, until its density is enough high.

A single proton is still a plasma beam. Just a little one.

A plasma dense enough to be as visible as an ion rocket plume. Only along the length of the entiire several thousand k beam
