  1. That. Was. Awesome. I'm really impressed! I'd love to see more of this, if you have the time.
  2. A) I don't use MJ. I've never found a reason to. I'm sure I will, but today is not that day. B) I'll add SCANSat to the list. I do use it. I forgot. It basically is. That's the Half Mun's emergency landing system. With the satellites in the cargo bay, the orbiter wasn't behaving properly, and I managed to get it to the KSC, but couldn't hold it stable enough to land. The 'chutes are usually for braking, but they're good enough for emergency landings. It dropped to 3.7 m/s. The orbiter was fine, but thanks for your concern. What's this!? A compliment from the mighty @UnusualAttitude? AWESOME! You guys can probably expect an update tomorrow. I have a couple of uncrewed launches done and ready for upload.
  3. Hello, good people of the forums. I'm NotAgain, and I've finally plucked up the courage to start a mission report on my mid-game career mode. First, a little bit about my save: I run more mods than I care to mention, but the major ones are This career's been going on since 1.1.2 came out. I do things my own way. if you don't like it, there are a plethora of other mission reports out there, there's something for everyone. I'm not the best pilot. I'm addicted to screenshots, and caffeine, so you can expect (semi) regular updates, usually at least one per week. I operate several different 'space agencies' in my save, courtesy of Kerbal Konstructs. They are all part of one central 'Kerbal Space Agency', but also operate independently. They each have their own Kerbonaut Corps, except for three. I have weird naming schemes. And, potentially most importantly, the glorious @DiscoSlelge is making some wonderful mission patches, which I hope to use on my crewed missions. The Space Agencies are as follows: The Kenairian Space Agency (KSA). The Kenairian civilian space agency, and the most prominent. Launch site: KSC (Kape Kanaveral) Naming schemes: Uncrewed: Girl's names, or acronyms. Crewed: Pubs (Bars) Crewed spacecraft: Metkosmos. The Metarian civilian space agency Launch site: KSC2 (Kaikonur Kosmodrome) Naming Schemes: Uncrewed: Destination-specific random Russian stuff. Crewed: random Russian stuff and names from Tantares parts. Crewed spacecraft: Metarian Army. Does what it says on the tin. And spies on you. Launch site: KSC2 (Kaikonur Kosmodrome) Naming Schemes: Uncrewed: Destination-specific random Russian stuff. Crewed: random Russian stuff and names from Tantares parts. Crewed spacecraft: Elenvarian National Space Agency (ENSA). The Elenvarian space agency. May or may not work for the government. Lanch site: Round Range Naming Schemes: Uncrewed: Random Chinese stuff. Crewed: Random Chinese stuff. Crewed spacecraft: Airnian National Space Exploration Bereau (ANSEB). The Airnian civilian space agency. Lanch site: Great Ez Kape Naming Schemes: Uncrewed: Acronyms. Crewed: Variations on the word Explorer. Crewed spacecraft: The Orbital Access Alliance (OAA). A private space exploration firm. Launch site: Central Lakes Naming Schemes: Uncrewed: Elements. Crewed: Elements. Crewed spacecraft: The University of Ken-Tech. A University. With a space program. (They're Kerbals. What did you expect?) Launch site: KSC (Kape Kanaveral) Naming Schemes: Uncrewed: Names of Tantares parts. The National Airnian University for STEM Studies. Another University with a space program. Launch site: KSC (Kape Kanaveral) Naming Schemes: The word box in many languages. The Scharvian Space Agency (SSA). What it sounds like. Its predecessor was infamous for developing the K-2 missile. Launch site: KSC (Kape Kanaveral)/Goldpool International Kosmodrome Naming Schemes: Purpose - specific German things. Rocketplane Kerblar. Another private space exploration firm. Launch Site: KSC (Kape Kanaveral)/Goldpool Naming Scheme: Uncrewed: Mission-Specific. Crewed: Acronyms. Right. On with the (somewhat) exciting bit. Half Mun Flight - 20 Mission: Deploy the Serena X and XI communtiactions satellites, and test the new RCS thruster placement. Orbiter: KSS Dauntless (OV-7) Crew: E1 Pepe Kerman (Commander), P1 Duddas Kerman (Orbiter Pilot), E1 Wensie Kerman (Mission Specialist), S1 Bob Kerman (Mission Specialist). The Half Mun orbiter Dauntless launched on her 4th mission carrying the Serena X and XI communication satellites to orbit on a Prometheus - III 122K launch vehicle. The plan was to insert into a 160 x 160km equatorial orbit, deploy the satellites, which would use their own engines to enter eliptical orbits 90 degrees apart. But, of course, no plan survives first contact with the enemy. The payload release mechanism failed. so the orbiter came back with the satellites in the cargo bay. Despite the the payload rendering the orbiter hideously unstable in flight, mission pilot P1 Duddas Kerman sucessfully got the orbiter back to the Kape and deployed the emergency landing parachutes, saving the orbiter, payload and crew. (OOC, I screwed up and forgot decouplers. My bad.)
  4. Here we go... Besstrashnyy. Metkosmos' (the Metarian civilian space agency) first station. What you're looking at is only the core module of the station. It'll grow in a rather haphazard way. Second image: Besstrashnyy with Kulak 8 docked. I know it's not actually a space station, just two craft docked together, but I wanted to share it. This is the Half Mun orbiter Dauntless docked to the Kayleigh - I space telescope during K-I Servicing Mission 2. This is Munar Surface Operations Control. It does what it says on the tin. The spacecraft docked at the end is Blue Anchor - Firedance XII. OrbLab 1A. The Kenairian Space Agency's first space station. It was expanded as needed, and very little actual planning went into it. The result? This beautiful mess. Kerbin outbound. Well, the core of it. It's going to end up with a huge, 35m long, 5m wide fuel tank on the bottom. And finally, OrbLab 2, the (supposed) successor of OrbLab 1A, that's honestly nowhere near as capable. Seen here with the KSS Courageous and the Eleanor - V resupply vehicle docked. And, yes, this is just my post from the space stations thread in the spacecraft exchange. All praise control-c and v.
  5. This is a total godsend for me. My Dres probe thanks you.
  6. Grace - V's little rover, Intrepidity. The Katie XVIII lander and rover. Driving this on Minmus was hell on, well, Minmus. The Blue Anchor - Firedance XI Munar Roving Vehicle. Crew: P1 Shersen and E1 Eliti. Both on their second Munar landing.
  7. Ah, I see you have some highly cultured Kerbals running around your save.
  8. Don't worry, It's fairly easy to learn. Try building a really simple satellite in orbit to start with, then I'd suggest Mun Buggies.
  9. Now there's only one more question. Can it Ivan?
  10. Besstrashnyy. Metkosmos' (the Metarian civilian space agency) first station. What you're looking at is only the core module of the station. It'll grow in a rather haphazard way. EDIT: Besstrashnyy with Kulak 8 docked. EDIT: It looks so much better with ORV-1 moved to a different port and its solar array attached. And finally, OrbLab 2, the (supposed) successor of OrbLab 1A, that's honestly nowhere near as capable. Seen here with the KSS Courageous and the Eleanor - V resupply vehicle docked.
  11. I'm liking this already. I love the matter-of-fact writing style.
  12. @Hotaru, I think that a stock jetpack has around 600 m/s of delta V. You should be alright, but Are We There Yet? will probably have to come and fetch her, like the Hermes in the Martian.
  13. Agreed. I've got a launcher capable of it (the Firedance V), but have never actually done it.
  14. Actually, I belive it's two years. From Year 1, Day 1 to Year 2, Day 1, it's only one year. As KSP saves start on Year 1, Day 1, not Year 0, Day 1, it must be two years.
  15. I checked. This time I attempted to launch it, it behaved. Instead of a normal launch, I quicksaved on the pad and immediatly reverted to that quicksave, and it behaved.
  16. Yes, I went through the whole rigamarole. Looking at the mass, there shouldn't be a problem, even totally full of fuel. I could add another couple of tons and it should still be okay, looking at the figures.
  17. I'm running the engines at full throttle, and I've launched this type of rocket before. I know what kind of performance to expect out of it, and it's not delivering.
  18. Has anyone had a problem where engines simply don't deliver the thrust they say they're delivering? I have a KER readout saying the rocket has a TWR of 1.9+, and the thrust output of the first stage (this is a Muo V) corresponds to that, but the navball G-Meter and the actual performance of the rocket are showing around 1.1g to 1.2g. This problem has happend before. Once with a Daleth II and twice with Muo 1s. My output logs, if they're any help: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B442KKEvDnJ9YW9tWE9ZMFVyVEk
  19. @Hotaru, how on earth can you afford that many kerbals? I've lost track of the number you've got, but it must have cost a pretty penny to buy them all. And what's the date in this save now?
  20. Has anyone else run into an issue where some cameras display the UI, the markers for other craft, the mouseover names of bodies in Distant Object Enhancement, but no image of the actual view? It's not all the cameras. I've only seen it in the NavCam and Night Vision Camera. I haven't checked them all, but the Wide Angle Camera and KerbPro certainly work fine, as do the first person EVA cameras. Oh, and the docking cameras don't appear to work. In any port, modded or not. If my mod list and logs are needed, I'll post them, I just wanted to know if there was a quick fix.
