I am going to try quite a difficult undertaking for my lack of skill trying to make the TR-3B as seen here I am going to start this project since no one else is willing to be up to the challenge so I guess I will have to go full thanos here(fine *puts on gauntlet* i'll do it myself) however I wont be able to do it on my own without someone to help me by explaining step by step what to do because every time I load up the software I pretty much have a panic attack from not knowing what to do and a severe lack of self confidence so I will probably need help from professional modmakers you can contact me on discord if you want to help me with this damn near historic undertaking(for me that is) I use blender because I heard that one is the best to use so I will need to have someone talk me through each step of the process because about 98% of the time I wont know what the hell I'm doing also it would hopefully pave the way for more ufo mods btw this thing is probably going to be nearly solid black given that these ships are referred to as "black triangles"

I tried to use that kind of thing but the results were not at all what I wanted so I am asking someone(not the maker of this mod mind you) to make parts specifically for that kind of ship and the ship would need an entirely new engine one that emits thousands of kilonewtons of force while being like a mark 2 or something
  6. ya think someone could make something like the typical triangular ufo? I'm thinking halfway between the ornate look of this and the simplicity of this perhaps keep some(most) aspects of the lukari ho'kuun class including shape and general design but just lose some of the intricate details details and turn the central dome into a glass observation room keep the engine(make it super powerful like about 25k KN and to borrow from rick and morty call the fuel concentrated dark matter because as far as I can tell there is no trademark for concentrated dark matter) here is an underside view of the ho'kuun class so you can decide what to change and what to leave also turn the flat area in the center of the rainbow light ring into another window(also the crew capacity should be 5 kerbals) so you can choose what elements of the design to keep and what to take out (I hope the rainbow lights stay) also this ship would be best flown as a spaceplane the reason I gave 2 designs is if you found a good middle ground it might look good as a ufo mod(also include the standard flying saucer) I am requesting this because ksp doesn't have any mods like the one I am kindly requesting and ufo mods are kinda unexplored territory in terms of ksp

I have an idea for the mk 3 cupola rotate the seats 90 degrees so my kerbals aren't flying my ship on their backs also reduce the thickness of the metal parts on the window so we can see more from inside my suggestion would make ufo designs easier you could keep the version you have and make a spaceplane version it is a cool idea also that would mean less space wasted so with a ship that has the the mk 3(spaceplane variant) cupola at the top as the pod the kerbals would be sitting like you are in the chair you are sitting in right now instead of on their backs also the modification/new part idea I gave would increase the crew capacity to like 5 kerbals

      no my friend THAT is a lukari ho'kuun class science vessel no spinning parts involved in fact click on the google link I put in that post to see what the design was inspired from..... and honestly I think we could avoid copyright from cryptic(the makers of star trek online) if the textures were modified a little...lets see...make the central dome a huge window with the dark lines on it being metal(and the blue stipes being lights) also its crew capacity would be 5 kerbals,  make the beige areas a little lighter in color and make the rosy pink areas a bit darker and a little more saturated. and make the blue spheres lights maybe make the rainbow lights on the underside and in the engines color shift(have an active animation to have them slide between colors in a set animation in this case have the colors move towards the aft)

      I'm not going to get involved in replicating designs that aren't historical.  Sorry, but the copyright issues around this are a mindfield.  And any defense would need to be water tight in all countries, as it will be going on the Internet.  But generally also, KSP leads to different designs than you get in cinematic universes.  Not only does it punish many physically bad tropes about space craft, but it also uses modular design.  So, making parts for that craft, for example, those parts would be next to useless for anything else.  Even a Starship Enterprise mod would be more modular.  And while, yes, many real world craft are fully integrated single pieces (hell, that's what Aggregat from the V-2 fame meant), KSP does not lend itself to it.

      Also, I'm totally not invested in that craft.  It's something from a something that I'm not interested in.  Making a mod part takes time.  And making all the parts for a craft that's even partly complex takes a lot of time.  You really need some enthusiasm to stick with it.

      Which brings me to my next point.  There's nothing stopping you from making the parts.  You make 3D shapes in a 3D tool, I use Blender (https://www.blender.org/) because I'm a fan of open source.  You then UV unwrap it (in Blender, see youtube for tutes) and texture it in your favourite 2D graphics program.  Again, I'm an open source person, so I use GiMP (https://www.gimp.org/).  Then import both into Unity3D (https://unity3d.com/), import the KSP tools and export the part.

      I stared because I wanted some extra parts.  Sure, my game now mostly looks like the progress screen on reloading ksp database.  But I'm still here making parts I want.  3 years ago, I had never touched a 3D graphics program for more than the 10 minutes it took to be horrified and run away.  But, a bit of time with some youtube videos on the basic UI and I was off and running.

       

  9. you think you could make parts for this ship? as this is what I was trying to build....my version doesn't look good but it handles like a dream it responds quickly and it doesn't tumble much it is really stable and since it seems like exotic kinda mods is your thing I think this ship(called the L.s.s Reskava btw) would be right up your alley... plus the design of the ship is heavily inspired by the classic triangular ufos I'm not kidding look up "triangle ufo" on google and you will see that the reskava looks exactly like one of those ships a triangle with 3 lights near the points and usually a central domehere is a better pic I also would like the central dome to be the pod and for said pod to be mostly glass for observation(crew capacity 4 kerbals) and for those blue sphere things to be lights of some kind ikd if you would be up to it but if you are please try to replicate this ship(in many different parts) also the engine could be another piece(also would it have the cool trail it has in the pic) also the suggested thrust for the reskava's engine is about twice the thrust of the small handwavium engine(not the rcs the legit engine) I honestly think you would like making an interesting ship mod like this and it would be well worth it because the reskava is an absolutely gorgeous ship
  10. what I think would be super cool is tweak scale support so you can miniaturize your warp drive so it doesn't disrupt the design of ships(also have it keep all the power) because I built a ship similar to the l.s.s reskava as seen in star trek online and I want to put a warp drive in it also it would make interplanetary ships easier to build because you could make the engines smaller so you could have powerful engines for their size thus shorter burns I mostly want tweak scale support so I can put handwavium planetary engines on smaller ships because one that I absolutely love to fly has engines that put out about 320kn each and it has 3 of them but if I shrunk the bigger handwavium engines and put them on my ship it would go so much faster(provided they aren't weaker than the original engines when I put them on after shrinking)

I really like the design of that ship and I will post my attempt to make a variant of that ship and honestly that design seems like something you would make...just make the central dome an observation room and perhaps make an engine with that trail? here is a top view of the ship

  16. are addons like this okay if they are outdated or will it crash my game? just wondering because outdated mods usually crash my game unless they are part packs
  17. *chooses renegade option* at this point I DONT CARE if threads are old if anything I think older threads could use some attention but on to the main point any chance this could be uploaded to ckan so people could download it and let the computer do all the file sorting? because when it comes to finding files 98% of the time I have no idea where the hell I'm supposed to put something
  18. I downloaded all of the mods I posted on from ckan and they are not compatible(some of my ships use these mods and I cant use these ships if the mods are incompatible{that and it crashes before it gets to the start menu})
  19. I simply like all my subscribed addons up to date so my game doesn't suffer because of it

I am simply notifying the makers of my favorite mods to keep them up to date so my game doesn't crash from too many incompatible addons so I hope you can see my reasoning I just want to get back into the game but I cant do that if even 1 of my subscribed mods is outdated because the incompatibility will make the game crash before the menu
