  1. Just thought I'd share a bit of spirit with everyone! How's your year been? Did you celebrate much? Or did you stay at home and watch other people have fun on TV like me?
  2. So, i bought KSP some time ago, and i don't know how to reach and land in other moons. The max i did was a lunar fly-by, and i only did that by discovering rockomax thrusters. Can someone help? Image of the rocket that did the fly-by: (note: this isn't the full rocket, but the 1st stage was 4 of the biggest SRB's, 1 medium Rockomax fuel tank and 1 small Rockomax fuel tank, alng with the Mainsail engine.

    hi

Hi I am new to the forums and I love KSP!
  4. So, uh, greetings! I am an American player who has been with KSP for a few years. And I decided to make a forum account cuz why not? I don't have any questions, so this is just a hi. Happy rocket launching my friends!
  5. I was wondering...How do I get an avatar like Roverdude's? Do I go to a website or what?
  6. New to the forums here. Probably got about 300-400 hours in and getting pretty close to closing out my career mode tech tree. Still havent made it to Duna, but have pretty much conquered Mun and Minmus. Cant wait to get a Duna base and beyond. Also, have plans for future career play throughs. Hoping to do a realism overhaul with some life support stuff. For now, I'm looking forward to getting much needed help and helping others if I can... Sooo, whats the deal with the mods having to approve posts. I understand the whole preventing bots thing, but i have a post almost going on 1 week that hasn't been approved. Is this normal, or is it lost in the ether? Was trying to figure out if I found a bug or not...
  7. Ksp is kinda getting repetitive. You know, launch, orbit, escape kerbin, and so on. So I'm looking for any mods that could help spice things up a bit. Things like RSS and solar system rescale mods. Things that add a whole new way of doing things. Things that add another aspect. If you know any good mods to shake things up post them here!
  8. I literally just started playing, I've played for an hour or two but have no clue how I'm supposed to get more science. I've gotten about 12 overall and got the first two researches but don't know how to get more. I tried reading through the manual but that didn't help. Any advice is greatly appreciated. SOLUTION Figured it out, I was having trouble landing air crafts from high altitudes because I was keeping my engines attached. After I figured how to launch my ships higher and not crash, I got a lot of science for reaching space and back.
  9. So, do any of you guys remember was @DasValdez streamed with ULAs CEO? He said they were gonna release a official ULA mod. What's the word on that? Is it still being worked on? The promo picture looked good and I wanted to know where it is.
  10. It's been a while since Ive played ksp so I jumped on the other day and had seen that the game was updated to 1.3. I began playing and as soon as I started up a game I was on the ksc screen(where you can choose buildings) and I noticed that the sun didnt move around smoothly like it always had done, it was jerking around (heres a video of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icTd8nG9cpM) This issue also happens when you are in orbit around other bodies. I put a random probe in a close orbit around the sun and it still proceded to jerk around in its spot( a video for that https://youtu.be/f3keimKkGv0) After this occurred I deleted the game and redownloaded it, only to be presented with the same issues. The videos have been taken off private
  11. Hi, I'm new here and was wondering where I can go to setup a modding environment and what code this game is modded in. Thanks, Durtle02
  12. I made my first plane. Here is the download: https://kerbalx.com/SpaceEnthusiast/Vulcan Can anyone experienced please download it and tell me how to improve the stability, but not too stable. I am new to KSP and I am still learning.
  13. This year system uses the decimal clock, 10 kiloseconds in one day... It also uses Greek and Spanish for the names. Months: Eniember Diember Triember Tetrember Pentember Hexember Heptember Octember Enniember December Endecember Dodecember All of these months have 30 days, and use the following days of the week: Solday Lunaday Miercuday Venuday Terriday Marday Jupiteday Saturday Uranoday Neptoday There is 36 weeks in a year, and there is one extra month, that has 4 days, diferent from the posterior: Extrember And it has the following days: Ceriday Pluday Makemaday Sedniday I hope you liked this!
  14. Check out the amazing and creative space stations of our last challenge! This week we have another theme for you: "Have you found a green monolith yet?" If you have found one these rare easter eggs or more share your screenshots, videos or images. We want you to have fun and share it with the whole community! Thanks to @Just Jim for the idea and help! Now we have a new thread so you can share your ideas for new challenges!
  15. Greetings, I'd like to start making mods. I have a few in mind, but have a few questions. There is an excellent post from a year ago about this topic here: I want to know if this information and the information linked within is still valid. I would hate to get started only to discover that I didn't download the correct version of the tools I need. There is also a tutorial on making assets: http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Tutorial:Making_an_asset_from_start_to_finish This one looks like it's been around a while, and I wasn't sure if it was up to date. Any recommendations and advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jamie
  16. We want to introduce you to the KSP Challenge. As the name suggests, we will be opening a thread with a new challenge on Wednesdays. These challenges will be a place for you to share your achievements. It doesn’t matter if you post screenshots, videos, images or anything you’d like to show off, as long as it goes with the theme of the challenge. We want you to have fun and see all the amazing things you can create! This week’s theme is: “Making a hole in one on Moho” You will have to launch an uncontrolled vessel from a mothership orbiting Moho and get the vessel within Moho’s hole, be sure to launch your craft high up. You are allowed to cheat to orbit and use mods if you want to. All comers welcome. We're sure that experts will think of ingenious ways to make it harder on themselves. Have fun and share your results!
  17. Hi ! First, I'd like to say that this is a really great community and I'm happy to take part in it ! So I just started playing KSP a couple of days ago, messing around in sandbox mode, I also played in career mode, but it seemed fairly hard up to some point... My question is : What's the best best way to learn KSP, by playing in sandbox, career ? What "essential tasks, mission should I do, in order to learn the basics ? What other advice can you give me ? Also, I'd like to point out that I've been playing Orbiter for a long time and have a fair understanding of orbital mechanics Have a good day, Luca S.
  18. JEBEDIAH KERMAN PRESENTS: OLD KERBIN REIVSITED Hi. You know the old map of the planet Kerbin, kerbals home? The map in version 0.15 to 0.17? Umm ... I "converted" it to the current version of that map, so i have done the following things to the original: *Added actual Kerbin's features *Removed old features(replaced with the actual ones) *correct(almost) water color *4k texture. Here are some pics: http://imgur.com/a/08JtK Here's the download: Download from GitHub Have fun! Opinions?
  19. I had a friend recommend KSP. I downloaded the demo, tried it and liked it, and got the full program. I've been playing about two weeks, and I have some not quite absolute beginner questions. I like the career game on moderate difficulty. I don't have the science to duplicate the launch vehicle in the training scenario. I've successfully made orbit and returned several times with a simpler and smaller vehicle, but my vehicles don't turn well in the early launch stages. Is being overpowered a likely cause? Getting around to do science out of the immediate area of the KSC is a bit tricky. I can do crew reports, temperature and pressure readings, EVA's on the ground, and the materials lab. What are some reasonable next steps? Airplanes at the earliest tech possible routinely crash. I've only had one make it off the ground yet and haven't managed to duplicate the feat. How do I calculate how much lift a wing will give? My apologies if these questions have been asked and answered many times.
  20. I am currently developing a new planet and moon pack. I am very new to creating planets, and things are not going quite as planned, but, once I start to get things under control, I will put a link up for download. Here's what I have so far: Sedra Sedra is planned to be a moon orbiting Dres. It is currently the first and only celestial body added, and it is having some rather significant issues with its appearance at the moment. The map appearance is fine (other than the lighting angle being different than it should be), but once you're up close it's a mess. Not sure what to do about this yet, but I shall continue to work on this. Feedback and ideas are appreciated.
  21. About half a year ago, I bought Kerbal Space Program while it was on sale on gog. I've played it about 5 hours and I don't really feel like there is a point on playing it more. The problem is, I have no idea what to do. I tried building a rocket so I could orbit around Kerbin in sandbox mode, but it wouldn't even lift off. And guides I read or watched like control the speed or other things like that. I just have no idea what to do.
  22. Can you add the things I have here to KSP? -magnetometer: used to measure the Magnetic field. -Sample drill arm: for taking a sample on unmanned missions. -Radiometer: It measures the amount of Infrared radiation. What do you think?
  23. I just started out two days ago, and i need a bit of help. How do I make a challenge badge? I know I need a third party software to make it but how do i upload it to my challenge? Thank you for the help!
  24. I have a decent idea for a simple but interesting new star system that players could explore (if they can reach it, of course). The system would be a gorgeous region of space where a star is being born from a small nebula. The star, an L-type brown dwarf, would be surrounded by ion clouds and asteroids as well as some very unique planets and other significant objects. Closest to the brown dwarf would be a nebula belt surrounding it, the young star's primary source of "food." The nebula would actually contain oxygen, allowing jet engines to function at a very low efficiency. The first significant object would be a small planet with vast deposits of lithium, a very thin oxygen atmosphere, and its own small, icy moon in an elliptical orbit. Thought to be created by a large comet grazing the young star, ripping away a good portion of lithium and other materials. The planet's small moon could be a remnant of the comet. The next two significant objects would be two relatively small gas giants in a binary orbit around each other. Two moons would have very high orbits around the gas giants' center of gravity. The first moon would have an inert atmosphere and cryovolcanic activity. The second moon would be an icy world with an atmosphere consisting almost entirely of ozone. The furthest object would be an ice giant. I'll leave its moons open to suggestions. What do you guys think? Good as a stock feature? Could be better? Any more ideas?
