Kraken on Eve
SelectHalfling0 replied to SelectHalfling0's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I have kerbal alarm clock and waypoint manager... I've never had any problems with them and I don't think they change the game radically enough to cause problems. I can confirm it is unrelated to mods. Looks like another bug strikes again in full release. -
Ugh. After multiple tries every rover I put on eve succumbs, after almost an hour of driving, to the kraken (black screen, no altitude). It only happens after doing science experiments (the whole point of my rovers going to eve). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this? Correction: the kraken strikes no matter what after loading the rover (give or take 20 seconds) This is the log, where I assume the kraken attacks: normal logs up to this point... Today, after a bit over 1 month of on and off work, I completed phase 1 of my interplanetary project: Phase 1 is a Mun Refueling Base, which will resupply a dockyard in low Munar Orbit (Phase 2). My plan is to have similar (smaller) bases and stations dotted around the solar system at key locations, such as gilly, ike, and val. At the dockyards there will be long range tugs of varying sizes, with just enough delta-v for a one way trip to their destination. Once they arrive, they will swap places with a fully refueled tug at the station.

What is that vessel's destination? Its certainly cool looking. Also, I think it should be called "Trident" (3 fuel tanks up front).
-
Gasp! That is some serious rover-unloading tech!

Finding neutral terrain to land on planets moons etc?
SelectHalfling0 replied to Cloakedwand72's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Without sarcasm, I typically just use a rover until I find a flat spot. Also, the mark one eyeball is not in the stock game. Its in stock life. -
Assuming HarvesteR isn't too busy, I would like to see one.
-
My best precision landing (the flag is the exact point of the LZ). I did it first try without surface hopping.

Why Are You (Still) Playing Kerbal Space Program
SelectHalfling0 replied to NeoMorph's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Here's a neat little list of why this game is still entertaining to me: excellent developers who are always working on new content mods mods mods! the fact that nearly 1000 hours into the game I still have only visited about a quarter of the worlds. I still have alot of work to do. -
I think that they certainly grasp technology but never lose their curiosity and imagination. Also, some of them are born/cloned/createdinanunknownway without glands that produce fear chemicals, so that certainly helps.

Things that never made it to the game/things that were added later
SelectHalfling0 replied to a topic in KSP1 Discussion
I wouldn't be surprised if these made a return at some point in development. I have little knowledge of the implications of Unity 5, but I would imagine newer software would make these easier to put in-game. -
PSA re-entry on Tylo is impossible
SelectHalfling0 replied to selfish_meme's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Chutes don't work at zero atmospheres (unit)? That's outrageous! -
Re-entry on Eve impossible due to overheating

I just landed there yesterday... just make sure you aren't coming in at a crazy angle. -
Ocean Science
SelectHalfling0 replied to SelectHalfling0's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I'm not saying immediately. I just meant sometime in the future (also at this point, the space part of the game is relatively fine-tuned, and space exploration focuses heavily on other planets) -
I was thinking, now that you can explore the underwater of Kerbin, Laythe, and Eve, could we get some science from "The Sea Floor" and "Underwater on ---"? I think that would be pretty cool and an incentive to try underwater bases. (if we get the parts for them). Thoughts?

Lol, its ugly as heck, but if it gets the job done.... Nice work. I have one question: how easy is it to dock?

Most Difficult Thing You Ever Archive In KSP?
SelectHalfling0 replied to ThePULSAR's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Saving an interplanetary ship (it's orbit while leaving Duna was shifted by Ike). I only had 70 m/s delta-v left by the time they aerobraked. I was able to circularize using RCS. -
So I might upgrade my home console..... Xbox One or PS4?
SelectHalfling0 replied to Cobalt60's topic in The Lounge
If you really like console-only games, buy an xbox one. Halo 5 looks like it's gonna bring back everything good from 3, Reach, and 4. If you just want a gaming system, then computer. -
SLS is theoretically safer. So...

Sleep Paralysis, Fear, and Rationality
SelectHalfling0 replied to DuoDex's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Is this "intruder" just a single group of images, or is it an actual hallucination experienced during sleep paralysis? I would imagine that if it was a hallucination, it would certainly appeal to the deeper fears of the victim.
