Just fyi I am sure you know this because its probably your intention. But I love that you have addons from simple sounding rockets to a warp drive. Its as if you are trying to replace the Interstellar mod. -

The Russian space station from the movie Armageddon using KSO and KW parts. The space station is basically an extension of MIR. -

Definitely need to make that parachutes more powerful. Splash down results in destroyed payload. For some reason if you parachute on land the payload survives just fine. -
If you are using the newest version of ATM you have to be very patient. Its going to take a very long time to load. It might seem frozen but its not. I am talking 1-3 hours of waiting. But in the end its worth it because the memory saving are amazing.

I really can't believe there is almost an entire page dedicated to the color of the SSME flames. Now it could end up being productive but its a semi ridiculous discussion lol. Now I don't know if any of you have actually seen a Space Shuttle Launch but I for one have and I can tell you looking through my dads binoculars and following the Space Shuttle from pad to until it became a dot through the binoculars there is a range of colors all non specific and not vibrant. When those things are lit the initial color is bluish its not BLUE or purple. Once it leaves the launch pad those things are orange/yellow and as it rolled I could have sworn it was almost red. The higher it went the colors obviously faded. But looking straight up at it they begin to look white. and once the SRBs separate all you see are three white dots. Now this is my opinion from when I was 13, from memory. So long story short, the current engine effects are very well done especially with the new sounds associated with it. However they could be more orange with streaks of yellow and maybe some red. Since I am not an artist and I can't do anything in the realm of creating engine effects, I am just gonna say that the the current effects could be darkened maybe to highlight the oranges and yellow with a splash more of red. Thats just the opinion of a person who had the awesome experience of witnessing a shuttle launch. I think the SRBs engine effects need more work than the SSME's there is a mod that uses smokescreen. Its the Zenit launcher by stubbles, the way he makes the smoke work off of the launchpad is beautiful. The smoke explodes through the exhaust vents on the launch pad and the smoke cloud expands the longer its on the launch pad. That is something that would be really cool for this mod even though its another dependency and I am against that, however it might be worth it.

I have been trying to install the new version of ATM for a few hours now and I fully aware of how long we have to wait but it gets hung up in the same place. Now I was used to it seeming frozen and then starting. However it seems to get officially frozen on Squad "unpaidresearch" item and it just doesn't move. I play on a Mac and the rainbow wheel just doesn't go away. I waited for almost a half hour and it just stuck there. I reloaded and the loading screen zoomed to the same spot and got stuck. Just wondering if this is a common issue or something I am doing wrong? I will keep trying but I just don't want to waste much more time especially if its an easy fix.

U Of course!!! Sometimes I hate these forums because everything contrary sometimes comes off as mean or angry. I was just trying to emphasize that your parts would be important in spite of all the other mods out there. It seemed like you were saying your parts wouldn't be useful because of all the other mods. I totally understand now what you're doing and im sorry for making it seem like I was argumentative or rude. Yes we are cool.

I said flaw not in your personal preferences but your logic behind it. I won't question it if it's what you want to make your model look look like. However you said there wouldn't be any use because of KW, Chaka, and NP. Again that's not true because of the need for high fidelity models. Now of its what you want then of course I stand corrected and won't try to change your mind. However if your reasons are because you dont think there is a use or similar models exist then that's simply not true.

Forgive me for being argumentative but your logic is slightly flawed. It's like saying FASA shouldn't exist because of KW and CSS shouldnt exist because KSOS and Tiberdyne, and raidernicks probes are useless because of AIES probes cores. There is a need for high fidelity realistic real world models. There are quite a few people like myself who like doing historical missions and install only the historical packs. Having a proper SLS however easy it is to rescale is only useful for RSS. Now a scaled down SLS with a 5m core stage that could be useful all around from career to sandbox. I fear that doing ONLY a 1:1 scale alienates a lot of users. I mean I don't wish to add work but having two versions regardless of how easy it is to rescale in game, would make it very appealing and easy to the average user. Just consider scaling everything down for the average user.

Also is it possible the newest version of DRE isn't playing nice with the SSME's. I can't seem to get 400km off the launchpad and the engines explode. One recommendation is that there should be a texture switch for a Columbia tail. It had a very distinctive.

Every time I tried launching the solar arrays my log would get spammed with null exceptions to the point where its slows down the game to an unplayable speed.

In the VAB just simply right click on the LEM. At the end of the sliders there is a green triangle. Click the triangles for mono prop and you are good to go. That fuel won't be used until you need it. You do this by simply right clicking in game and click the red circle with a line in it.
