  1. No. I use it for most of my landings and I don't use spaceplanes. So most likely some issues with settings.
  2. I actually have Civ3 and Civ4 installed (using Wine) and they are still a fun way to spend some evenings.
  3. Oh crud I'm going to waste way too much time plotting data and optimizing my lifters now. Seriously, a really useful addon.
  4. Just wanted to say thank you again. KML_Mono saved me from hand hacking my main savefile from a botched docking glitch.
  5. The fantasmagoric KML might be a solution to try. It not only allows a more reasonable way to edit save files, it can also auto-repair broken ones. Just remember to take a backup of any files you fiddle with.
  6. I create and keep a list of upcoming windows and then play with other stuff (and prepare) until a window opens. Then it's time for a bunch of launches (or returns). I rarely fast forward more than 1/2 - 1 day. And yes, I (ab)use KAC a lot ... ( I think my record was 39 entries ...)
  7. OpenGL and full driver support from the major chip makers has changed that considerably. Many (game) developers chose to support a wider range of platforms instead of just Windows/XBox for purely financial reasons.
  8. KSP (like many other Unity based games) is Linux native, no need for wine.
  9. EvE Online, which does torture hardware quite a bit, runs fine under Wine on my aging i5 without a hitch.
  10. I would add: and backup your saves. My startup script creates a snapshot of my current saves every time I start the game. So whatever happens I'll never loose more than the last session.
  11. What? RCS at either end and away from the CoM works best for me (have to dial them down for smallish crafts).
  12. Well, nowadays he's "The Planetary Guy", as CEO of Planetary Society;)
  13. Intercepting asteroids/comets has been driving me mad. But I'm slowly getting the hang of it.
  14. isn't it more like "oh no! it escapes in to the water!"?
  15. You must have some hardware or driver issues. No userspace software should be able to lock up the OS.
  16. Today I've had serious clean up of my installs. Compressed and moved all versions from 1.4.5 to 1.10.0 to a backup disk. Took a while to compress all that data but at least is showed that my OCed i5-3570K (@4.1 GHz) doesn't melt even when going flat out on all cores for 60 minutes. Now I'll go back to tinker
  17. You can't cheat in a single player game. Unless you mean cheat on your own rules.
  18. Atmospheric flight, as in any forms of airplanes. The flight model is so abhorrent that I simply refuse to contaminate my brain with it.
  19. Just download the upgrade manually , the patcher hasn't worked for years.
