I'm sure this is tied somehow to the fact that Nordisk Film acquired Avalanche Studios (the developer) from Eidos Interactive (the publisher) just the other day. I've not dug into it, but I'm sure there's an interesting story there... and a view to the future.

Really! You should be flogged with wet noodles for doing such.

The way I see it, EVERYTHING these days is poorly designed. Never in my life have I known a time such as now (these past 20 years), where everything (computers, phones, cars, planes, you name it - even people) requires constant updates, some of which I see being every single stinking day (hello Google & Microsoft & Apple, that's you). A hundred plus years from now, people will look back upon this time and hold the belief that people of this era were totally ignorant and didn't know what the hell they were doing with anything, as it shows... we're an era in testament of incompetence, leaving endless chains of updates to shoddy developed products which never should have been allowed out the door as proof, all shots in the dark mostly misses. And this all happens because.......... People accept it. All that crap you just can't live and go a day without. You only get what you accept, and if you accept it, for sure you're going to get it.

I'll trade you, mine's on the right. The trap running down from the neck, down the shoulder and upper arm, through the elbow and straight down to the wrist. It only hurts when I try to straighten the arm out. So far, I've been told it's tendonitis and/or arthritis. I can tell you what it is... a pain in the ass.

I'm just picturing this; Coming in for a landing, and I miss the runway, so I do a go-around and come back in... I'm thinking lining-up would be killer, especially if flying on instruments, as that far up north (or south) the meridians are so close together. You'd likely not use instruments at all and go by visual alone.

Considering the time difference and the media difference between today and yesterday, I'm convinced you don't know what you're talking about. Let's leave it at that.

You kids crack me up. As if younger people were even around when the internet was created, or created the first memes. I'm laughing here. http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-43783521

It actually sounds like something from one of Vanoss's videos.

How do you come up with ideas for names of missions?

Are you insinuating I'm not normal? You should see my keyboard, and phone. -

Grab a handful and toss. It's all a crap-shoot anyway. -
Gads. Punctuation already.

Landing on them, what with the polar pinch and all that, must be a real 'female dog'. This ^

That trip turned out; 2 hours up, 5 minutes on the table, and over 4 hours back home... all thanks to the damned Memorial Day weekend traffic on the GSP. Had I thought about that in advance, I would have cancelled the appointment. Un-freakin-real.

It IS possible to type the Δ symbol on Windows
LordFerret replied to cubinator's topic in The Lounge
I did a double-take on that... looks just like a 'C' in Georgian, only backwards. -
No, but Duna obscures my view of Dres on occasion... which is why I was thinking of obliterating it with my death ray, Duna that is. Personally I found Dres a decent challenge. It's harder to get to than Duna, has lots of new asteroids to discover (as of recently), and being the dark bleak world it is, it presents a nice challenge in trying to rover to its anomaly.

Δ - Character Map utility, on every Windows build, the Ariel font set. -
You're board? Who's your friend?

If I had to guess, I'd say it was a poorly parsed command string, like maybe something font related "-r use blah blah blah blah flags etc" ... the repetitive 'H' is significant. In any case; #1) turn your machine off at night, or switch off the wifi when not in use for long periods #2) run some scan utilities on your machine (Malwarebytes, SpyBot, etc) #3) check if someone else has had access... family, friend, foe And an afterthought... Try opening the file with a Hex editor and see what else is in there (non-printable characters).

I like Puddles, he's very talented and has a really great voice. -
Win8.1, no problems. Then again, I don't do much of anything with this machine except KSP. Otherwise, it's Linux.

Sounds like you got a real charge out of that. -

You know, this is something which really puzzles me often: Squirrels. Squirrels are seemingly so damned smart. People set up obstacle courses for them to learn and attain food treats, and the Squirrels are so smart they actually figure out and solve some amazing puzzles. They're very adaptable and adept little critters. Yet, the streets in NJ rural areas are littered with the corpses of dead, flattened, road-kill Squirrels. Automobiles have been around for over 100 years now; You would think that Squirrels would learn by now how not to get run over. I just can't figure it. -
Today I'll actually complain about something. The VA (Veterans Administration). My 'local' VA (about 30 minutes away) has decided to send me to the 'main' VA in up in northern NJ for a procedure. The procedure, so I'm told, will take all of 10 minutes... a CT scan, no contrast. It's a 2 hour drive from here to get there..... to spend 10 minutes on a table..... to spend another 2 hours drive back home. The kicker is that there's 3 different imaging centers within 15 minutes from home here that I could walk to if I had to.
