KSP2 Release Notes

Some of you may know me. Due to various IRL commitments, I have taken an extremely long break from KSP but I have recently returned! First on my to-do list was to finish up a project I first concepted in 2021. Here, I build a fully stock (with DLC parts) replica of a Star Wars B-Wing craft. It is flight-capable and features deployable guns, VTOL capability, and rotating cockpit and wings. The craft file is provided here: https://kerbalx.com/Hazard-ish/Star-Wars-B-Wing-Replica Check it out in the video I edited below! (which also includes a montage): Also, check out the blooper reel I compiled of various attempts to fly this thing under the bridge of the KSC!

I've just seen the notification and I wanted to take the opportunity to apologize again for what I did. Thanks for talking about it all so reasonably though- the KSP community is really wonderful and a real breath of fresh air for gaming

In a feat of Kerbal engineering, the boys at the SPH have devised a way to make fully stock hinges and pivots! Using this breakthrough, the technology has been incorporated into the design of a new SSTO to give it VTOL capabilities, as well as enough fuel to go to Laythe and back without refueling or need for mining! In order to rotate the wings, the tilt-wing section un-docks to become a separate craft that can move independently of the main ship. It's held in place by two rings of cubic octagonal struts around some of those Oscar-B fuel tanks as a sort of axle. Torque wheels are used to rotate the wing and lock it into position using the 'radial out' marker on the navball. Finally, 4 small docking ports lock the section back in place- rejoining it with the rest of the craft fairly securely in a quadruple seal! Here's the video I made that I have had in the works for a while now. A lot of time and effort went into making this but I am really happy with it so I hope you enjoy watching it!

As a lot of you have found out, in order to get the craft working as intended the nuclear and RAPIER engines had to be modified by altering their config files. Here's the video I made that I have had in the works for a while now. A lot of time and effort went into making this but I am really happy with it so I hope you enjoy watching it!

In an exercise in precision landing and both over-engineering and micro-engineering, I went to the mun and back THREE times in a single launch without using any docking, mining, refueling or gameplay mods! A lot of testing and work went into this video so I hope you enjoy watching it!

Yeah, could someone put me on the leader-board, please?

In my most difficult and tedious mission yet, I sent Jeb on an 84 year mission to Eeloo and back, requiring 12 gravity assists overall, using a craft that weighs just 3.6 tons! So much effort went into this one, from building the rocket and all the cars, writing custom configs for my visual mods to make Eeloo look just right, to actually performing each of the many many stages in the video! I really hope you like and appreciate what I've done here! Enjoy!

Ah, the ion engine did run out of charge properly. But since there was still some solar power and an RTG, electricity was constantly being generated so keeping the throttle up still provided some force. The engine was essentially fluctuating between 0kN and 2kN extremely quickly - if you look at the fuel gauges, when the electricity reaches 0, xenon use also decreases despite not touching the throttle control.

Here it is: my long-awaited submission to this challenge! When I started it I didn't know this forum post existed but it should be eligible anyway. So much work went into this, from the cars to writing custom settings for my visual mods to planning and executing the 12 gravity assists used throughout! I hope you enjoy!

I've completed the challenge with a 3.61 ton craft! It's all recorded and when it's edited and the video is finished I will upload it here I didn't know about this challenge when I started that mission, so it might not qualify but hopefully it will!

Low Mass Eeloo with TAC-LS - kOS script chaos
hazard-ish replied to DBowman's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Wow, I had no idea that this was already a challenge! I'll be doing something similar but it might not qualify. Ill post the video here when it's done -
With version 1.2 just around the corner, I've been given early access to show you everything you could want to know about the upcoming content! Enjoy and let the hype continue!

I've done my best with the editing on this video to hide the fact that between pretty much every shot, the rotor-blades fell out of the socket and the whole thing exploded! It's not really that much fun to fly and due to the way I've clipped the Mk1 cockpits together, it's extremely unstable unless you enable part clipping :\ Glad you liked the video! I try to upload more often but I've been kept busy this last month or so due to exams. You wont have to wait as long for my next video!

Hi, has anyone here had an issue where all ground textures are extremely dark? I've tested it on Moho and Eeloo and once I get close enough to the surface that the ground textures start to render over the map view texture, the ground is extremely dark - not quite black, but something you would expect at dusk even at midday. I've tried reinstalling, I'm just curious if anyone else has had the same problem? I'm running 1.1.2 and all I've done on that copy of KSP is install RSPRC. Thanks

For the past several weeks I've been working on a fully stock, fully functional Airwolf helicopter replica - complete with 'missiles' made of cubic octagonal struts and seperatrons! The design also incorporates a completely stock hinge that allows both the main and tail rotors of the craft to rotate! I went all out with the editing on this video to really capture the 80s feel of the original show so any feedback is greatly appreciated! I spent so long just building the crafts used in this video and another large chunk of time finding good recording locations to really create an awesome montage that resembles the TV intro! Enjoy!
-
I'm so glad you noticed that! I get that a lot of people here have never seen Airwolf, but I really tried hard to stay true to the original TV show!
-
I spent so much work on this - from building the crafts, to finding recording locations, to sorting out an selecting sound effects to actually getting the footage needed. AND to top it off, between every other scene the rotorblades would come off. I hope it was worth it and that you enjoy it!

I've finally finished up an SSTO design that I have been working on for a while now! This space-plane is really unique - it's a tilt-wing craft so the whole wing pivots around giving the craft VTOL capabilities! The tilt-mechanism is completely stock and if you watch the video, I show you exactly how to make one yourself! Enjoy!

Plans for a Thatmo SSTO are currently being drawn up! I plan to get to there (and maybe Nissee) and back without and refueling or mining in a similar fashion to how to went to Tekto and back ages ago in an SSTO. Will the terrain changes to Thatmo in the next update still allow for low, flat areas for landing horizontally?
-
I used to check on this thread on an almost daily basis but I've been so busy that I haven't been able to recently! After catching up with what I've missed I've got to say that I'm BLOWN AWAY by all the changes that have been made and what is still to come - fantastic work! The terrain changes and procedural cratering really elevate this mod to a whole new level and I cant wait to use it again for some of my projects By the way, I haven't seen much word on whether Thatmo has been given and atmospheric shader yet. That's one of my favourite places added by the mod and would love it to look how you origionally intended but I remember you saying that there where scaling problems. Any news?
