Shes called "Afternoon Delight" My first sub.. Indeed 1.1 made them easier .except for phantom left roll forces...
-
Theres much to say but ill compress it into 3 things 1. These new wheel physics killed my trains 2. I liked the old wheel physics 3. See 1 and 2.. Performance is better.. Again point 1

THIS!!! Bloody horrible bug!! At first I thought im pressing a button wrong until I realised that it wasnt a button at all but the game Build a nice plane.come back from a flight and go to add or modify wing placement..landing gear..fuel tanks and youll get the mirror opposite with the wings wanting to do either a swastika shape or turn into a starwars 3 winged shuttle..no way in hell of getting it back without exiting SPH and going back in Want to place landing gear in another spot? NO SOUP FOR YOU!' Here have one wheel up in the air and one on the ground.. Absolutely horrible!! Fix it please.. Ive been with this game for a long time building trains and aircraft... This bug kills all of that

What have you been the first to discover in KSP?
Overland replied to kmMango's topic in KSP1 Discussion
That you can emotionally bond with a train in KSP more than you can with a cold sterile soulless locomotive in a proper train simulator (and probably the first to use proper diesel electric) 4016.. My baby The best 40 class that ever was Worry when shes damaged... Feel relief and happyness when she returns home safe (when her sistertrains never did) And be generally proud that shes a capable machine functioning for what she was designed for with grace and beauty as a locomotive of the KTP Long live 4016 -
Wheels work nicely too

No one could decide in the end.. The population of KSC2 favored one.. While KSC prefered the other.. KSC is a ballistic missile base.. The last nuclear rocket was launched there The great and numerous kerbal society is no more..where masses of green people once roamed.. There is only green grass Sad

On kerbin..undead zombies are quite different from the human variety in that they dont snack on brains but rather noses of the living..and are born from the dust bag of a vacuum cleaner when static electricity takes hold on a tuesday The population packed and ran . Chaos without order.. They moved to duna and were promptly vaporised by the native lifeforms.. Monsterous kypods.. That oddly later discovered although an impressive machine of war.. They required water to cool thier reactors.. Sadly they overloaded.. Exploded with the force of 10,000 atom bombs for 30 seconds Thereby ending all life on duna.. While the native kerbin zombies simply ran out of noses too eat.. Reduced to dust and became the grey mountains near KSC... Kerbin is a dead world.. Duna is much like its sunburnt sister planet Its a very sad story

Skycrawlers as I call them work delightfully well either stock in 1.05 with a reversed jet engine on the roof or KAX radial.. More akin to an autogyro in thier nature in that they use wings for additional lift.. Id love to see the design scaled up in a challenge though they use a single engine on the roof with a radial attachment point, ballence vs fuel is a little tricky.. but even with SAS etc turned off and depending on thrust and control surfaces they can be fun.. expectedly sluggish to respond at low airspeed though they do take off MOSTLY vertical.. at 2ms.. but landing is another matter works fine with jets in reverse thrust but the radial KAX engine has a better sound video of one.. crashing horribly during an underpowered landing in my stream recorded a while ago in 1.04 glide they do not http://www.twitch.tv/overlandtrain/v/52527623?t=10s

If KSP crashes it can also sometimes oddly revert some but not all buttons to default (keyboard) Most of the time restarting the game again in my experience fixes it.. But making a shortcut to KSPs root directory with a regular backup of the settings file you can just replace helps..thankfully its becoming rare as KSP progresses Another thing..with throttles I use one axis for up..and the "secondary" option for down..otherwise it sits in the middle.. But with xbox triggers thats a natural state anyway
-
The first part is correct.. KSP is my landtrain simulator with dedicated wheel and throttle controllers.. Rarely do I use aircraft.. With a joystick..when I do its with KAX propellers.. Rockets..mun..other planets.. Never Ksp is the best long distance driving simulator ive ever owned..and the best use of the xbox steering wheel since forza horizon and my beetle Controllers ftw For the record though my trains have airhorns not whistles
-
Sure does but you need to manually assign buttons and axis.. My weapon of choice for driving 4429 and her sistertrains in my signature is an xbox360 MC2 Madcatz steering wheel.. Same thing more or less
-
Welcome KsP is indeed awesome...but dont let your plane building make you feel lesser. While its space in name and possibility.. KSP is as much a multi vehicle type simulation as any mods would let it be..open to personal preference Have a look at Kerbal Aircraft eXpansion or KAX for some nice propellers

what kerbal rocket parts are actually made of
Overland replied to noobsrtoast's topic in KSP1 Discussion
bubbletrumps, vinegar, rusty spoons and TAPS! -
Many people myself very much included brought KSP for one reason, then with the power of either mods or self made changes made it into something else To me KSP is the ultimate long range landtrain simulator with a workable diesel electric resource that powers my locomotives.. This requires mods..workarounds and tweaking of the stock game to get what I want out of it.. I have very much...quite pleased with capabilities of KSP as a platform My controller of choice is a madcatz steering wheel and pedals with an old throttle.. Because keys lead to lethal uncontrolled turns and throttle.. A steering wheel fixes all this.. People find thier comfort zone with mods and custom items Im confused by your argument about wanting x thing to be stock and the expression of dislike for mods.. KSP is a wonderful launchpad for a great many things.. Squad has there vision and ideals.. So do you They differ greatly.. But to get anywhere near your desired game your going to have to use mods.. That said.. You compare space engineers and others.. I too have these games.. I also have dedicated railway games if I wanted to undertake more realistic train operations.. Kerbal space program has its own quirks and personality.. Quite simply because its kerbal space program and not another program you mention We all buy different games because they do different things.. KSP is wonderful.. But kerbal galactica it is not.. And likely wont be in the future Just as Kerbal Train Program

I Got caught up in hype trainness.. and with a heavy guilt, modified 4429s exhaust and abused her quite horribly exploding half the trains wheels trying to get a money shot for a hype train.. thankfully she survived and I repainted her class number back and fixed the configuration file.. repairing all wagon wheels.. thankfully nothing exploded Finally reducing speed a little to let smoke catch up and fearing explosions.. the shot was perfect

Kerbal Space Program 1.1 Hype Train Thread.

ALL ABOARD!! (Im sorry 4429 ) -
Sign me up..although ill mostly be playing with subs and modded trains.. That said theres a few stock bugs and the new wheels ill be very interested in testing and taking to extremes.. I do drive with a steering wheel and fly with a joystick..please pm me if its of any use My systems aging but capable so ill be happy to see how it performs at known sub optimal specs While running alot of wheels no doubt
-
4429s quite happy to cruise at 34ms and coast upto 40 before the wagons start desiring a train/kerbin interface

Made a PTB Personal Transporter Bee

The thing is.. The kerbal spacesuit.. Its actually a negative pressure suit Buldging eyeballs.. Detached retinas.. These are all features of a perfectly functioning suit Females are naturally smaller than males..it stands to reason that thier tongues simply couldnt withstand decompressive effect of a spacesuit and exploded They used to have noses...and eyelids.. Those were removed in preparation of spaceflight Kerbals are a smart lot.. Thier solution to overcome G forces in spaceflight was to debone any applicant like a fish.. Using negative pressure of the spacesuit in thier place.. And there we have a kerbal!
-
Its all a conspiracy man... We were all waiting for 1.1 to bring performance.. But the dead have started rising... 1.1 is going to be zombie pack Or kombie pack which is more awesome shuttlebug ftw

I can now confirm that Helijets sorta-copters do indeed work nice theyre fiddly to get right with the balence of center of mass vs manuverability vs fuel but once you got that perfected, they fly just like the one I built with kax full throttle to take off, a little bit of 2m/s forward speed to unstick from the runway (odd?) and she floats into the sky without a care.. able to roll happily if theres enough height. manuver like a bee around a flower and land at nearly zero or walking speed top speed around 60ms best flown with a joystick but easy enough without, she autocenters with turning easily enough.. like the KAX version I find theyre best designed a little nose heavy and 2 clicks of trim generally straightens it out at low speed.. leveling naturally around 30

Mysteriously exploding spacecraft.
Overland replied to JMS1959's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
are you running 1.05 current version? This everything is cooking upon reload of a save was very common to me around 1.03 and early 1.04 -
i made a skycrawler light semi helicopter with a KAX radial engine once... it need need wings but generally putted around at 30ms with takeoff at 10 Add a few canards.. Flew like a dream..even auto leveled turns Challenge..stock helicopter VSTOL using a radial attachment point and a reversed engine?
