Could someone nicely either assist and or give me clues how id go about scripting the wheelthrottle command to the output of the engine throttle, So that I may control wheel RPM with the regular aerothrottle? I Already do this on an indirect way with diesel electric locomotives ..but they can be moody and prone to bugs if not handled correctly.. Using the alternator rpm to drive a thirsty wheelset in gear (locked wheelthrottle) This is for a friend new to the world of KSP trains and for use with a pure electric passenger set. . Hence Im looking for a way to tell KOS to set the wheelthrottle to whatever percentage the aero throttles set at to regulate speed fed by a constant electricity supply In my head it seems simple just lack the command set knowhow Thanks (roverwheelsound mod is still on curse and github if anyone needs.a very important mod)

Its honestly worth while going the linux mint route..as a strict windows user in the past I had a broken pc with no legit windows.. I got ubuntu then moved to linux mint then elementryOS.. The reason was KSP.. Now windows10s infected my pc Im going to do it again this weekend.. Its worth it even if dual booting for KSP Edit: KSP stopped crashing when I went to windows 10 64 bit as well -

Thanks.. If I didnt say already..its a great model and mod..really adds atmosphere.. Brightness is an issue yeah but as a whole its a really great mod Most trains I drive or want to model has one in real life so its a very welcome part -

Awsome idea really.. but id say they need more brightness, a larger cone of light? in the past ive used the aviation lights for flashers. they typicly light up the top of the cab a bit too much and half of the hood, although its hypnotic on long drives between stations your light more fits the purpose and I love the model, animation etc.. but.. the light is a little weak.. could we have it large enough so it'd reflect off nearby buildings without much performance hit? -
40 class and 44 class.. The long nosed ugly sister thats got no right being on the road with such bad visibility from the cab.. Once a pure shunting engine..now mainline unit.. Has no real use but ends up being the public face of KTP while superior 44 class units sit in the depot wondering what they ever did wrong

Most annoying thing? 1.05! Why? Because it runs half as slow on my pc even on lower settings than 1.04 Add docking ports and kerbins atmosphere turns to honey Ive been with this game since 0.23 so ive got the option to revert back to 1.04 And I do... Happily Only to find some inconsiderate person has updated a mod I use now it wont work in 1.04 and not provided to link to a previous version by not using github Some are lucky to get a warning box about 1.05 like KAS and KIS Others..not so lucky I get water physics..I love boats too I dont love this

After finally getting another pc.. Oldish but servicable.. Im still finding 1.05 horrible in framerate when using docking ports on mass that trains require I reverted back to 1.04 ..again And got back to smooth framerate Detriot twin engined 40 class locomotive 4018 made her successful trials with a local 3.1 car train.. .1 because the guardsvan has 2 wheels like a car trailer... A cheaty solution but a working one What im working on is using kerbalkonstructs to plant stations and goods yards for ore trains First major station is to be a single platform island with refueling capability in former bombo outpost 80km from KSC Its to be named 4016 in honour of a sistertrain stranded there some time ago but lost in a save.. she never gave up despite missing 3 wheels..in the end it wasnt her fault she disapeared. Had the save remained she would have limped back to KSC depot with pride 4018 under construction

Since 1.05 makes multiple docking ports slow the game to a crawl for me (1.04 doesnt?) Trains have fallen from individual wagons readily uncoupled and replaced if damaged or empty To shamelessly permanently coupled rakes of 4 wagons with a single docking port each end.. With only exploding connectors in an emergency to seperate each wagon It feels horrible ...

Thanks very helpful ill get working on it weekend..gives me some nice ideas..mostly akin to old flightsim days where prop planes had 4 engine sounds would fade off and let the other increase in pitch to give a semi realistic sound Ive posted this before but it gives the idea.. In hoping to add 2 or 3 stage sounds more to 4427s engine inline with the engine in real life vs just ramping up the first one fast idle (although 44s are alco..forgive me) been using sounds of that video for a while -
@StewcumberSteering wheel very good for rover control.. Gives a full steering arc with no deadzone pedals can be set for forward and reverse Cant drive trains without it. They roll and explode.. Its just an old xbox360 matcatz MC2 non force feedback Basic rover control is Primary rover throttle pedal 1 Secondary throttle pedal 2. Gives full accelerator and brake/reverse control Its given so much to ksp for me..better than driving with a joystick

My pc a dual core 2.4 amd system somehow welded its own PSU in a massive windstorm powersurge.. Unknown to me the leading red power leads were bubbled and warped suggesting far exceeding power ratings.. Foolishly with PC withdrawls i simply thought the hard drive fried.. Brought a new one.. Fired it up..only for the hard drive spool up to jet speed..have a chip on its board crackle and smoke into flame..and me maddly trying to unplug the drive..with my DVD also starting to smoke blue... Likely being 240 mains going throught the system This was the end of my PC for a very long time.. I Never brought a new one for over 2 years.. Finding nothing...did it for me.. With all the too scripted console port FPS games and same same RTS and horror games ala zombie.. PC gaming became stale for me.. Garrys mod previously held interest but limited space.. I brought an xbox.. A steering wheel and forza horizon and forza 4.. Passing my days racing a heavily modified almost zero suspension bottom heavy brick that was actually A Nissan leaf ... painted in barbie cruiser pink and white with flowers and rainbows..smiley faces and electric lightning bolts.. This became my world..both in serious racing..and trollery online Until one day using my xbox browser I came upon KSP.. In very early development... The screenshots made it look like pigs in space of the muppet show fame.. It intersted me..actually rekindled some PC interest.. Construction..engineering..spaceflight.. It seemed a dream come true.. If only I had a pc to play it.. So! I brought one .. An aging ex workstation HP WX4600 Core2duo 3.0ghz with annoyingly rare and limited 2gb ECC ram Getting it home on the train sans its case as a pile of electronics in a questionable parcel made of a cotton shopping bag ducttaped for security with wires hanging out brought me as close to fear of being shot as ive ever been.. Passengers eyed me horribly.. Railstaff looked on considering the threat.. Police upstairs became something to fear.. My computer very much resembled a bomb.. In an underground station as it were.. It was the longest train ride home ive ever had..thankfully nothing happened Once i cobbled it to together with scraps.. Got it working.. I discovered that it wouldnt run KSP demo above 10fps Disheartened...nothing to lose.. I plugged in a housebrick sized old GTX260 Videocard One that exceeded the 320w psu by...well lets just say many.. Success... Nothing blew up!! WIN!! Ksp demo ran smoothly.. I borrowed (copied) KSP from a friend.. 0.23 and fell inlove with... Destruction Conviced squad earnt my respect and money I brought my own copy and another copy gifted to a friend on steam I barely knew Win all around! As time went by.. I discoverd rovers and sam halls KN2 Cockpit.. My xbox steering wheel became KSP rover driving controller... Months later the first jet powered land trains were born... Soon after at the cost of near genocide of the kerbal race .. Hybrid battery recharge traction trains were on the scene.. Followed by pure diesel electrics.. Engines were refined.. Improved.. KSP had become a land train simulator growing with it..its own legends..lore and soul.. Trains started to be numbered... Thats when its claws dug in.. KSP filled a hole in my life as a train enthusiast that no other game has (still using my xbox wheel to drive!) Every words true...and now that i see it all.. My path to kerbal...was very kerbal-like indeed

Thankyou thats most of what I was looking for.. The only missing is what the pitch and volume 2 sets of numbers do and when in the throttle position Using the turbine running and power sound . Im Hoping for the volume of the running turbine to be zero at higher rpms and let the full notched warcry of the engine take over.. Only playing the idle or near idle turbine like chug of the engine start close to cutoff of the engine sound.. (happens always in previous gensets) So the loco can be a proud idling unit in the yard maybe joining other detriot 40 class units in a beautiful song as they wait thier next run I believe its possible.. And your posts gone a long way in helping me thankyou -

If you mean mark 1 cockpit.. Sam hall's Kerbonov Kn2 i would highly recomend.. Houses 3 kerbals and comes with RATO jets that might serve well in an escape pod.. Full IVA too..stockalike -
Hello all . Im after information on how the part configuration files in 1.04+ work.. Up until now ive been recycling the same 0.25 data but certain things like engine cutoff isnt working well now Specifically regarding particle definition and sound data..eg frequency, volumr, pitch that all to me is new and somewhat alien.. Im sure there was a thread on it but cant find Anyone help me out? Im looking to be able to taper off the volume of the running turbine sound at mid rpm and keep the power sound increaing in volume and pitch upto full throttle Also possible increase the exhaust at full warcry Something thatd assist greatly in realism for a EMD engined locomotive Thanks

Why not much stuff on kerbin The evil green monsters destroyed it!! Ever wondered why rockets? Surplus nuclear missile parts left in the only standing command center on kerbin Thousands of years have past and only now can people venture out..even then wearing spacesuits to prevent breathing in radioactive particles The shielded bunkers wernt quite enough protection.. Mutations resulted in green skin .. Eyes without eyelids and the complete lack of a nose Only recently was the females of the kerbal species brought out of stasis..preventing further damage to the kerbal gene pool by the once higher radiation.. Kerbin itself without kerbalkind grew green and pure...trees...rocks.. A clear sky free from polution.. A world where the only memories of great empires of kerbal are simple ruins and lost instalations.. Its said one still bears the name KSC2.. Surviving mostly intact because the crater its in absorbed alot of the shockwave during the final days of the war Great cities have been reclaimed by nature.. Covered and now resemble mountains with great spires.. Billions once lived on this world.. Lost in a terrible war.. They slowly recover.. Exploring a now alien unknown landscape The lucky ones manage to strap together more complex parts to make spacecraft in search of a new home The unfortunate ones board trains bound for KSC2 but never return.. Those with a background in the military choose to do battle with one another for reasons unknown.. But make no mistake.. All of this came about due to the most violent warring period of kerbal history The kerbal has much hidden history we simply dont speak of

I still drive trains... Thing is ive got realworld flight experience... I built a plane today . It had tiny forward facing jets to slowdown on landing.. Why dont I use flaps.. Why did it look like a giant enemy crab. I DONT KNOW!!! I have sinned

@ReasonGreetings from the trainz world former X200 and later changed forum name to Battery Electric, here.. Im watching this thread eagerly for the same reasons... Id love to learn blender but it means unlearning gmax... It does my head in On the train front allow me to say KSP supports a surprisingly accurate if a little crude diesel electric transmission that I use on all of my trains currently (modded turbines generate electricity with no batteries ..modded wheels act accordingly with generator output) Although they might end up as land trains driven with a steering wheel..feel free to mod some of your trainz work in KSP... Theres a small yet growing community of our type here . And KSP is a fertile place for the train scene to grow . Tracks or not Not just a plaything.. It gets serious.. Theres something glorious about trains popping up where they wernt intended be it garrys mod, rigs of rods, Kerbal space program and the like.. And unlike other....games.. .ksp runs good and doesnt recycle things from 15 years ago..doesnt slap a new name on it and charge full price every year... Kerbin alone is around 3000km wide.. Better than any baseboard Trains are as welcome as rockets and planes Welcome -

A problem/bug prevents me from it currently.. I drive in cab view..with each update the IVA kraken becomes worse if you uncouple and couple a locomotive to anything..in that the IVA view ends up tied to the docking port half of the time..camera internally ends up locked to the first docking port as verified by cameratools mod Seeing ones own locomotive from within its own cab is disturbing.. It can be fixed using non-docked KAS magnets and hooks though.. Im hoping squad fixes it now them 2 new staff members are onboard A similar thing happens if you build anything with more than one cockpit.. Only one will work correctly.. This effects most people..

http://www.twitch.tv/broadcast I use open broadcasting software..it can record as well as stream..it outputs big files but! It recorded almost lag free on my old rig that was way underspec for KSP being a core2duo 2gb ram server with ECC class ram give it a go
