  1. I see a Mun landing, and raise you by Minmus slope landing!
  2. I'm fairly certain you can adjust how much fuel is in the booster, in which case you can remove all fuel (so it's as light as possible), stick some chutes on it, a small booster to get it to the water, and voila, done deal.
  3. Hail probe, bringer of GPS! May his unblinking gaze guide us to LKO.
  4. These may not be the "best" tips, but they work for me and I've made quite a few working SSTOs. I recommend bringing the wheels to all the same level below the craft Attach a few Cubic Octagonal Struts to the bottom of your wings, and put the landing gear on that. When sitting on the runway, it should be basically level. Also, bring the rear wheels forward, so that they're just behind the CoM. You should be able to raise the nose so that it's balanced on just the back wheels before you take off. (so it basically looks like you're doing a wheelie down the runway). (For bigger planes, a wheelie may not be possible without some extra SAS)
  5. While being one of my less-used engines, I still find it has a place as a circulizer stage for some of my heavy ships, and sometimes as a little extra push at launch (in conjunction with a giant Kerbo booster)
  6. I'm just curious... does anyone else free-hand draw ideas for their ships before building them? I've done it a couple times to try to get a more unique design, and help plan out what should go where.
  7. Oh... well... um... I'm just gonna take a nap here... Also, how about mud is okay, but mud/Frozen crossovers are banned in EVERY CASE. JUST DO SOMETHING ORIGINAL FOR ONCE ARRRGGGHHHH
  8. There's usually a few Twitch accounts streaming that you can watch. I believe The_Lolbster and DasValdez both do somewhat educational streams once in a while. I'm usually too busy to catch them, but I hear they're good. Edit: In fact, looks like Das just started streaming. http://www.twitch.tv/dasvaldez
  9. Best of luck to you, Cdr. My mom was diagnosed about a year ago, but has since been thru chemo and thankfully is getting better. It's a blessing every day to still have her around. I hope your story ends as well as mine
  10. Once I get a Kerbal on a body other than Kerbin, it's basically game over. Free money for years. Not that I'm complaining... just wish there was some more variety.
  11. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/29988-The-You-know-you-play-too-much-KSP-when-thread?highlight=too+much+KSp+when I'm sure a Mod can merge this with the existing one
  12. if you aren't against using mods, Kerbal Engineer includes a HUD option that shows your altitude above terrain, among many other things. Using it, I've managed a fair number of successful night landings.
  13. 5/10. Mildly amusing, but it's also your avatar so a little redundant.
  14. 10/10 Germany ist best! jawohl!
  15. All I know about Frozen is that it has a bunch of annoying songs. 3/10 because maybe you're making fun of it? Alright. 1/10 for sh*tty pic and sh*tty attitude
  16. Not exactly realistic, but it's surprisingly maneuverable:
  17. Many consider the Rep -> Science, and more so Cash -> Science strategy to give you free science. Even at 5%, you can quickly get much more science than you need.
  18. Sounds like someone I'd do everything in my power to dissociate with. But to each their own...
  19. Very nice work! I'll see if I can get another good pic for you to work on eventually Edit: Also, a lossless version would be epic. I like using KSp screenies as wallpapers
  20. I did something similar to your idea last week in order to de-orbit an obsolete station in LKO. Basically, a claw attached to a fuel tank with a 38-7s (the tiny engine) to push it around, and a bunch of chutes around the fuel tank. I detached a single module and sent it down with a De-Orbiter and it worked great. Very little damage to the station module, but not very cost effective. Fun, tho. Next I tried to bring down two modules while they were still attached. Brought it down to the atmosphere fine, started aerobraking fine, but when the chutes fully deployed at 500m, the weight of the station modules caused it to rip away from the claw and fall into the ocean, destroying all of it. So basically, be careful, but it can be done.
  21. Well, theoretically I could upload one of mine. Not sure how much debris you're looking for, but I've reached the limit on of of my career modes a few times.
  22. Awesome! Any chance you can work a little magic on this one? If it's too dark to work with, I've got a few other ones
  23. I built a "plane" that was actually just an SRB with a external chair and some wings on it. It even made for a pretty d*mn decent glider once the fuel ran out.
