  1. You can also destroy asteroids by sending them towards Kerbol, if the wiki is correct: I also wouldn't be surprised if the asteroids got destroyed deep enough inside Jool.
  2. You'll have to tell us the conditions that you are supposed to meet. They should be written in the contract. If it is "Landed at Kerbin", make sure your craft is on the ground. If you put the craft on launch clamps too high above the ground, the game will not consider you landed on Kerbin (you can use launch clamps, but the craft must be very close to the ground).
  3. Nothing like that in the stock game I'm afraid. Once you start transmitting, it will continue at a predetermined rate until it's done or the electric charge runs out. The only solution I know is add more batteries/solar panels. Sorry.
  4. I have no clue right now... Tell ya what, I agree with you: your -22 looks about right. So let's make it a -21
  5. Gloriously fat chincillas impatiently jumped hilariously heavy caramel. snronrbt
  6. I have no idea how the craft is structured internally (in code), so I cannot answer that question. I imagine most people are the same.
  7. I add some batteries and solar panels to power the probe core.
  8. I add some science instruments. Because no sane person would send stuff to space without doing some SCIENCE! along the way.
  9. No. The user below me is using at least 2 monitors with his PC/laptop.
  10. Unless I'm misinterpreting the question, I think the OP was not concerned by orbital velocity in orbit, but on the ground. Standing at the pole, the planet is not moving you anywhere, it's just rotating you. Standing at the equator, the planet is dragging you with the surface at about 200 m/s - quite a difference, I would say.
  11. I wouldn't call 200 m/s "barely", but yes, a larger planet with the same rotational velocity would give you a bigger kick at the equator.
  12. I uninstall the weapons and replace them with additional fuel filled drop tanks. More fuel = more deltaV = more space we can get to.
  13. I attach more wings to the paper airplane. More wings = more lift = faster to space.
  14. I usually design a huge station with >400 parts, cut it into modules, send up a core, add one module... And then realize it takes too damn long and my laptop wouldn't handle the final product, so I design a smaller station and send it up in one launch. The I usually dock one rocket/spaceplane to it and never visit it again, unless it's also a fuel depot.
  15. You are obviously going too slow. 90405 m/s is just 0.03 % of the speed of light - therefore you are only emitting 0.03 % of the light you could, and the light from Kerbol is overpowering yours. Try accelerating a lot and show the damn star who's boss.
  16. Have you tried landing it manually? You should have enough deltaV to perform a landing. I would just lower periapsis to ~7k, wait until a few minutes before Pe, use nukes to kill most of the velocity (by trying to keep the prograde marker at 0° vertical - if it goes below the horizon, turn your nose up a bit) and then touchdown with the help of the poodle.
