  2. Trolls be trolls you know, it's the same on reddit, you travel around the system on a single launch, 2 votes, you build a flying chair in two minutes thousands of upvotes, planes are KSP's cute cat pictures. Yes I do sympathise with @Rune's criticism of SCF while still not agreeing with it.

  4. Having made a Delta II 7295 (Pathfinder) I wonder which one this is. It seems to have 6 boosters, I am not sure but I don't think any Delta II had 6, they had 3, 4 or 9 (6 fire at launch, 3 when the first 6 end) you might want to research which version it is, heres the wikipedia entry https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_II

  7. OK, got distracted by the Duna Buggy and the MK3 SSTA that I released. I have been back editing and creating footage for the SR-71 cinematic, modded KSP is so gorgeous these days I often just want to sit and watch the sunset. I have finished the first sped up part, I do not want to be a stop motion animator its very tedious work. I have about an hour of flying footage to distill down to a few minutes and somehow bridge evening to morning.

Hey Majorjim, fantastic work as always, I was just watching the video, the mk3 not the mk1 half, and I have no input to offer you on the craft itself, your expertise and knowledge of the Apollo craft is way above mine. The video was really good too. I have a couple of minor suggestions with the video, that struck me while I was watching it. Some of the black gaps are too long, in the middle of them I am thinking am I missing footage or something, I have found that more than a second of gap prompts a 'somethings wrong' response. One other very minor quibble, what happened to the LM extraction from the S‑IVB, it sort of went straight to the moon. Your editing and video are really good, these are tiny, tiny quibbles.

  10. Here is the tragic end of KSS Voyagers interplanetary journey. After her ascent from Duna, Voyager had no oxidiser. The crew decided to attempt a landing on Ike to mine more fuel. Jeb tried a tailfirst descent and quick flip to the Vernor engines underneath, but alas this ship does not flip, it's more of a procession. A low velocity impact is enough to break the back end and when she finally flops onto the landing gear a tanks explodes breaking the ship in two. The shakedown cruise has inspired several innovations that will be incorporated into Voyager 2. It will then go rescue the stranded Kerbals on it's shakedown.

  12. If you install Hullcam VDS then you can get a first person view from any Kerbal, no modded parts required, just right click on the Kerbal and choose activate camera

  15. um on minmus the rapiers would be using oxidiser too, it must be in the ftl-800's and not in the main tank
  16. Didn't you just land on Minmus with them? I'll check them a bit later, I went through them with the latest update on KerbalX, and they were definitely there

I was thinking about version 1.1 and independently threaded ships and thinking, it would be great to have a nice ship and a nice station, but when you dock they become one, and you become subject to the single physics thread bad person. So my idea was why can't two craft docked by only a single docking port remain two vessels, physics wise. If you dock two or more docking ports together you are trying to build a single craft. In my head I can see a different type of joint that does not simulate torque and other physics calculations, is easily breakable, but just allows transfer of resources and Kerbals. I know there will be lots of people who will bring up cases where they want to dock two craft with a single docking port and become one, but, think of the advantages, a proper space port with multiple ships docked? A single docking port is a poor physical connection between craft anyway, and I would always connect multiple, I have seen many stock and modded solutions to the weakness of docking port joins. i know there are issues, especially calculating movement change between vessels and torque from one affecting another, I guess I am thinking a super sloppy linkage, maybe magnetic force only? that breaks at the least provocation, its physics is very simply simulated and if timewarp or scene changes happen the vessels are actually separated.
  18. I have a nice dreamchaser, but no launcher as of yet, it's on the back, back, back burner for now, if you want to build a launcher you are welcome to it.
  19. I'm now thinking about landing legs inside the cargo ramp, I might move the drill there too, so you can drill in horizontal or vertical landing mode, Voyager II!
  20. I didn't make it, all crew survived so I now have 4 Kerbals who need rescuing, I'll put a video up later of the final moments. I was very close, only moving at about 10ms but I could not get the nose down fast enough to make contact with the wheels first, I thought I had made it with only minimal damage (the tail planes came off), and the speed readout was only showing 4.5ms, but something broke and a tank exploded.

Suicide burn setup, maybe I should live stream this, lol, everyone can see me create a big explosion on Ike I also seem to be pointed for the Central Mountain Ranges, that does not seem like a good thing Oh no I overwarped by about 10 seconds, this could be a short journey spamming the mono at the moment
  22. I'm just about to leave Duna and head for Ike, I have no Oxidiser but I am going to try and land it anyway, tail first and then flip onto the vernors
  23. Cool Duna is a bit more challenging, was it aerospike dV you were low on, I can't imagine using all the lf going to Minmus
