  1. So, sorry to bring up an old thread but I was wrong . Career mode is actually great. A recent thread of mine, has made me try career again and stick with it. I've just orbited Kerbin and complete that mission and also reenter ed and landed so science galore! Looking forward to the next mission.....career mode....I got it all wrong.....
  2. Run as administrator . I had exact same problem and this worked for me.
  3. That I talk about it non-stop to my work colleagues! they've never played KSP but know more about it than they think (or probably want to know )
  4. @WyattNelsonGames I appreciate your comment but would prefer not to crash 2 vessels on purpose. Crashed enough already
  5. The thing for me is....do I have to do all the contracts available to me or can I pick and choose? I don't want to test parts at a certain altitude etc.will I miss out or be punished if I refuse a contract ? sorry if I sound daft but as a 100% sandbox player I don't understand career mode...
  6. So after reading thesee posts I'm going to 1..persevere with career a bit more and 2..colonise each planet and have a space station around each and build some good rovers to explore with using my wheel....have a proper look around. Should keep me busy for a while is the colonization mod any good?
  7. @Overland I use my wheel for Asseto Corsa, rfactor and Race 07....I think unfortunately KSP on the ground will fall very short of expectations however the game was never designed for this. Reflecting on what I've read and tried (yet again a "failed to enjoy" career mode) I'm probably best sticking to 1 off missions created in sandbox when I think of them . possibly, for me the game may have reached its limit. BTW, before anyone says it, planes don't float my boat.....
  8. @RX2000 it's the science that's boring. .....take a science sample here at over 17k, a crew report here.....to be honest I don't like the science side of KSP anyway....goo containers , temperature etc....that's not me. I understand that the missions will get better but I have to do the science to unlock more parts to do the mission in the first place.....that for me just isn't working....this is why I've never got into a career game. this is about the 5th time I've tried (been playing since 0.90).....
  9. Trying a career mode but I have to admit....it's boring me to death....
  10. @Overland I have a joystick and a Logitech DFP wheel however my rovers are not worthy of using either device!
  11. Some really good points here guys thank you
  12. HI all. so, since 1.2 has been released I've changed the way I play in sandbox mode but I could do with some suggestions. normally I would do a mission in sandbox....complete it then delete all craft etc then do another mission and so on....since 1.2 I've put a satellite scanning the Mun which, when finished will go to Minmus and a satellite orbiting Kerbing for docking practice. I'd like to visit all the moons and planets but need a purpose for doing so. ideas anyone? contemplating colonising planets but is it worth it? rover expeditions? etc.... Looking forward to anyone's ideas and thought. ...
  13. I only used MJ for dv figures....now only use KER. I do everything else manually
  14. Try running as administrator if using Windows. Worked for me.
  15. Good God......Ive been reading all these threads about 1.2 and all Ive really got from it is a lot of people moaning about DLC, not enough graphical updates, yada-yada-yada. I admitidly only found KSP at 0.90 but never, never before have I seen so much "anger" about an update, or lack of what "people "want"". Can we just enjoy where we are and all remember --- this is only a game? Yes, weve all paid for it at some point, but hey, weve not bought a new house where cracks in the wall are forming......that I could undersand. Sorry for my outburst but this community is changing, and not for the better in my opinion.......its just a game......
  16. whenever 1.2 is released, it will meet a 50/50 opinion anyway.......
  17. urmm....is it me or did this thread get totally off topic a long while ago? edit: if its me ill happily just wait for 1.2 in silence
  18. If I'm completely honest I'm gunnar be happy playing 1.2 for years to come, future updates or not. Will I pay for DLC? Maybe, maybe not. I love the game as it is anyway. Just my short opinion
  19. I was in the wrong settings....I also appreciate your help by providing visual instructions
  20. cant see difficulty settings. im in the settings but nothing will change it, but thanks anyway.
  21. Hi all. Im using version 1.2 1500 and have landed on Laythe. Upon taking off I notice there is no blue line showing my trajectory. I have trawled through Google and I realise this is a pre release but any help? Is this because Im not using an antenna? I personally dont want to use them. Tried 4 times now and no blue line. Maybe wait till official 1.2 release? EDIT: Im seeing now that without a signal I cant do many controls/manouveres. Is there a way to disable this? If not, then im not sure I can continue playing as this is not what i want to do.......
  22. Today I successfully built and tested my Jool 5 Lythe lander which landed, took off and achieved orbit exactly as I needed it too. Now to start on Tylos lander.....
  23. Where is it crashing? I mean in the VAB? In orbit? Etc.....can you provide more information please then others can help you more.
  24. Id say dont watch videos of huge ships doing amazing things. Stick with tutorials. I found myself getting frustrated that I couldnt do what these players were doing due to my lack of skill. Now I do what I can and not worry about other players skill levels and I feel great playing. Currently im designing some Jool 5 landers and not even going to space. Building for me never gets boring!
