  1. Oh... It's um.... why did this have to happen? I'm pretty sure Tom Hanks's forehead isn't that tall in real life. He sort of looks like a not as obese version of Kim-Jong-Un. Well! Good thing I've owned the Blu-Ray copy of Apollo 13 for years now, I think my copy has an actual photograph of Tom Hanks in the Command Module during the launch. Much better looking than... Apollo 13: The Animated Series It does sort of reminds me of one of those unauthorized knockoff versions of blockbuster movies made in Italy or China, such as Titanic: The Lengend Goes On
  2. I have such a low attention span that... oh wait, I already forgot the example I was going to make. Anyway, I also forgot about my other projects (bah, I'll finish them later) and started something both new and old. So... IT'S BAAACK!!!! This incarnation uses @Fengist"s Make it Sink mod, although I've been unable to test dive it yet because the craft doesn't seem to like being moved. Or timewarp. Or water. Or me at all, really. Just like all my other submarines (except the Typhoon) this one likes to flip over in the water, and because of the slim frame required there isn't too much I can do about it except add ore tanks and SAS modules. The engines are also a little iffy, flaming out every few second due to lack of intake air. See, it doesn't like to swim, it doesn't like to dive, it doesn't like to be disturbed at all. Yeah... Allow me to amend my previous statement: IT'S BAAACK!!!!* *Terms and Conditions may apply, void where prohibited by law. TrevCo, Inc is not responsible for any incidents caused by unleashing the fury of the U-boat. Warranty void if U-boat is placed in water or on land.
  3. Don't thank me for that, @esinohio made them at my request. You can check out his work here.
  4. ***bad joke*** It won't work in :C, the craft has to go in your KSP Directory to access it in the game ***/bad joke*** Seriously though, this thread is just a little over a year old, that may be why the DL doesn't work.
  5. Wait, is has? Today is a good day, gentlemen! Time to drop everything I'm doing and and get Real Ships, so I can fulfill my dream of making a real, submergeable U-boat!
  6. Yep, I attached a few to thermometers and offset them into place.
  7. It looks like one of the science and power modules for OPSEK. Probably because it is
  8. I'm currently slated for an Aerospace Engineering course this autumn, hopefully I'll get a chance to do some launches of my own. I did make a water bottle rocket with a few others for a chemistry project once, we did it in honor of Yuri Gagarin and named it the Bolshevik Blastoff. Unfortunately it spun out of control because we didn't know how to secure the fins correctly and the parachute didn't work because we didn't know how to pack it properly.
  9. I would counter that an obsolete attack helicopter that entered service in 1967 is definitely more "vintage" than a supersonic jet fighter that entered service in 1974 *citation needed* and remains in active service today, but an argument over the definition of a word in my rank which I was considering changing anyway won't solve anything. I did start on a prototype to see if it would be something I could build to the same standard as my other craft, it's proving to be quite frustrating. The biggest roadblock is the size of the air intakes. 1.25 meters is too big, but 0.625 meters is way to small. I'll keep working on it, after all, solving practical problems is what engineers are paid to do, but be warned that there is a small chance that you may possibly have to consider the likelihood of you accepting a compromise.
  10. Either seven or nine per booster. I did have the idea to add one or two more engines to the second stage (it would be acceptable, some concepts of the Ares V had two or three J-2Xs), but I would have to see if the reduction in DeltaV would be within limits. The Ares *may* be able to lift slightly more than 70 tons, but I classify it as a 70 ton lifter because that's the mass of the test payload I launched it with.
  11. The Ares V already uses SRB bundles. I may just have to go through the landers and remove any unnecessary parts so I can have a custom aeroshell.
  12. I'm really proud of the way it turned out. I spared no expense, from adding little lights to help align the docking ports to arranging the crew pods within the inflatable section to appear to form different rooms, this is one of the best stations/motherships I've ever built. Now to overhaul Orion/Ares I and cleanse the landers of the many problems plaguing them. The biggest is that the fairings push the mass of the entire descent package well over the Ares V's tonnage limit. The heaviest payload I've rated it for is 70 tons, but with the aeroshells the landers weigh over 100 tons apiece. I don't really have the space to build a custom aeroshell without taking a huge hit in FPS, and I doubt I have the skill either.
  13. DTV assembly is completed, it now awaits its first crew in orbit. Now I need a name for it. I could just call it the DTV, but it would be nice to have a special naming scheme for each ship.
  14. I've got a request for my Cobra, if you're up to it. Would it be possible to make a render of one or two Cobras in an attack run, similar to either of these images? If you do the first image, can you have the Cobra be firing a TOW missile or a few rockets in the render? I need a new desktop background, alright?
  15. It does look pretty nice, but the CBMs from HabTech aren't playing nice (I found that out the hard way when I sent PMA 3 and the Z1 Truss up) so I may rebuild the entire station up to this point in the VAB, replacing the CBMs with tried and trusted Tantares 1.25 meter APAS ports. IR is also tough to learn, so I probably won't be reconstructing the entire station with the Canadarms like I had hoped. @Beale will be glad to hear that I have had no problems with the Tantares parts of the station so far, although every other mod is breaking down or not working quite right.
  16. I would first use it to visit all the historical events I've always wanted to see, like Apollo 11's landing from Mission Control, the Wright Brothers' flight at Kitty Hawk, the moment Europeans first set foot in America (I'm referring to the Viking Landing, not Columbus, but that's another story), the unification of Germany, and the signing of America's Declaration of Independence. I would also use it to try and meet certain historical figures, such as Hannibal, Napoleon (and Wellington), Theodore Roosevelt, and Winston Churchill, to name a few. Once I'm done using the machine (probably a few years after I got it, I would return to the present day, probably collect a few modern convienciences, take the machine back to, say, the American West in 1870 (I doubt Back to the Future Part III is accurate, but it sparked my curiosity) and hide the machine where it would be difficult for anyone to find or reach it. I would live in that time indefinitely (until I died or got bored). Man, I never knew I was this enthusiastic about owning a time machine.
  17. *ahem* I'll consider it, but it's not what I usually do.
  18. I only release a craft every two or three weeks anyway, since I have so many other games I like to play besides KSP, so updates won't happen very often.
  19. I didn't think having the correct color worth the added parts. 1.1 didn't remove the part limit entirely, it just raised it much higher. I'm still doing my best to keep the part count as low as possible while still including as much detail as possible.
  20. To prove that I am still working on the pack: DTV under construction. I'm debating whether or not to test it by sending it to orbit the Mun once the Hab section and a crew are up, but that would require refueling it later...
