  1. I can probably do one over the Thanksgiving holidays, so put me down if that slot isn't already filled.
  2. One door leads to a workshop to build real planes and rockets, with one door.
  3. I accidentally flipped over today while driving over a rubble pile... Eventually two or three tanks ganged up to try and flip me back, it was amazing. Unfortunately, all efforts were futile, and I finished the match still flipped over, in 16th place, with only 43 RP to my name...
  4. 2/10, did not expect, but it's quite a mundane location. Unless that seat is in a plane or rocket!
  5. Alright, be honest, how many of you knew about this aircraft before playing War Thunder?
  6. Hey, thanks for featuring the Dragonfly! Wow, this is what, three craft in a row to earn an SCF feature? That's crazy, I didn't even expect anyone to pay attention to the Dragonfly because of how small it is and how easy it was to build! The other selections were nice too, good choices indeed!
  7. Thanks, everyone! I really didn't expect such a small craft to get so much attention! I think it would be possible, but it would be easier to use the Claw to refuel it, even if it is a little less realistic. Or, if you're willing to use mods, KAS winches and connector ports would work even better. With a regular docking port, the biggest problem is finding a place to put it. I know it's big enough, but I have no idea where to put it that wouldn't look weird.
  8. Nice truck and missile! What is its range? Also, I also would like to see some daytime pictures, and maybe some of the missile in flight.
  9. Soyuz IP-1 has been flown, although it is being recorded as a failure. Numerous problems were experienced early in the flight, one of which led to a mission abort and emergency landing at the first available landing site. The crew and spacecraft survived, and Marathon 1 is still functioning, but it will be some time before the Soyuz IP-2 hardware can be assembled, and even more time to iron out the bugs, setting back the mission by an indefinite amount of time. Soyuz IP-1 is rolled out to Kosmodrome Launchpad-G, the first time the pad has been used in quite a while. Liftoff of Soyuz recorded by cameras near the pad. There is a noticeable lack of smoke. An unknown bug occurred in the tracking software during ascent. THe trajectory failed to appear, and the telemetry from the booster made it appear to be stationary on the ground. The orbital trajectory appeared once the booster was jettisoned. The second complication occurred when the Launch Escape Tower was ejected. The jettison inadvertently caused the fairing to separate as well, however it failed to completely separate, and remained stuck to the vehicle throughout the ascent. It is believed that this issue caused the major problem which forced a mission abort. No dangerous problem appeared visible at that time, so the Flight Director allowed the mission to continue. The fairing pieces eventually fell away during Stage 2 separation/Stage 3 ignition, so the spacecraft was given a "Go" for orbital insertion. Once in orbit, the crew began instrument deployment and systems checks, and discovered that the solar arrays were unresponsive. The investigation has revealed that the panels were torn away from the spacecraft by the fairings due to the lack of a clean separation. The Flight Director immediately ordered a mission abort and selected an alternate landing site. Deorbit took place half an orbit later in order for the Descent Module to land in daylight to aid the recovery team. There was a minor scare during reentry when the heatshield ablated faster than expected (the first time I've ever seen reentry use up ablator), causing the spacecraft to reach nearly intolerable temperatures. Fortunately, the capsule came through intact and was able to proceed with the rest of the descent. Soyuz IP-1 descending by parachute, photographed by the recovery team. The crew has recommended the addition of soft landing thrusters or airbags to cushion the touchdown. The entire mission is recorded as lasting 49 minutes, whereas its original duration was set at one week. I don't think the tracking bug is related to Tantares, but even if it was, I have so many mods running I don't feel like finding out.
  10. It occurred to me after the fact that the Dragonfly does seem like something you should be making. These compliments, coming from you, make me proud. Feel free to uh... Use it any time you like, I bet it could stow away on one of your VTOLs... Nudge, nudge
  11. Before NASA decided to send a Lunar Rover on the last three Apollo missions, they had considered a small flyer (or pair of flyers) to be used to explore the Moon's surface. I have always wondered how that would have turned out, and building a Munar flyer has been on my KSP Bucket List for some time now. Today, I can cross that item off (well, actually several days ago, I just procrastinated in getting this out), because the Dragonfly Exploration Flyer is complete! Although it's performance on the Mun isn't as amazing as I had hoped, it is still good for short range operations. On Minmus, however, it excels at long range hops across the surface. In fact, it can make a 20km Minmus orbit on 30 units of monopropellant (about a third of its supply), making it the perfect choice for an emergency escape vehicle. It's searchlight and its surface scanning module allow the Dragonfly to perform search and rescue missions, scout out new locations for bases, or even hunt for those elusive monoliths! (I'm fairly certain Minmus has some...) The Dragonfly contains a large battery capacity, and is equipped with an RTG for night operations, and its boom mounted engines keep the pilot safe from the toxic exhaust (sure, let's use hydrazine on a craft where the pilot is completely exposed!). It's two omnidirectional antennas allow fast, stable communications with orbiting satellites or surface bases, and the four landing legs provide a compact yet stable platform. Here is one of the many satisfied operators of this vehicle on an exploration flight on Minmus! I promise, this Kerbal is in love with the Dragonfly, he just isn't used to flying in a command seat, that's all. While the Dragonfly is recommended for use on Minmus, it can manage short duration patrol flights on the Mun as well. Be careful though, it's range is significantly reduced in the higher gravity. DOWNLOAD HERE Even though it's a small craft, please give me some feedback, and be sure to post some pictures of your own Dragonfly flights here. Don't forget to leave some rep if you enjoyed!
  12. 150 images? Wow, I didn't misread that... Next time, try picking about 5-10 of the best images to share, you can always post more later if people want them. So, 3 turbojets, huh? Do you have a license for that?
  13. Hang on, first you were claiming that videos are overrated, now you say that pictures cannot capture the characteristics of a craft? I think it is acceptable for me to do some research to find out if you have the credentials to make such rude complaints, and from what I can tell, you do not. I suggest you make something of your own, share it with us, and see if you don't encounter any problems, either with the craft or with the presentation. But let's not get into a personal argument, 'tis a petty way to act. Castille, I do think it would be convenient to add a few pictures to the thread, since some people will inevitably be unable to watch the video, due to internet connection or time constraints.
  14. Don't worry about that JuxanLink fellow, as far as I can tell, all he does is show up on the forums every once and a while and attack people who make good craft. He hasn't shared a single creation of his own for several years. There will always be people like this who are just jealous that they can't make their own craft as good.
  15. Yeah, it's a lifestyle, that's why I'm considering getting myself in shape to be able to pass the physical now while I'm young, even though it will be ten years or more before I am eligible to apply.
  16. I beg to differ. Videos can be better than pictures for showing off craft, you see them in action and can see them from many more angles than a simple photo album can provide. The only downside is that videos are larger files than images, so you need a better internet connection than you would need for pictures. Wait... Did you put jet engines on that car? Have some rep, insanity is beneficial to us all.
  17. Yep, being an astronaut is my dream. I plan to get at least a bachelor in Aerospace Engineering (ideally a Masters or a PhD). Then I just have to find some way to get 1000 hours flying time in jet aircraft, and then I can apply. I guess I had better start working on the physical requirements too. It's never to early to start, is it?
  18. Well, the characters are either annoying or boring, and the plots of the episodes fall drastically short of those from TOS or TNG. When I watched the first DS9 episode where Q shows up to mess with the characters, I was happy, in a machosistic way. Can you feel der Schadenfreude?
  19. Well, in that case, I propose that this thread be changed to a general discussion thread about Star Trek, instead of one about the upcoming series.
  20. Granted, but a dust storm hits that destroys your means of leaving the surface and you are stranded, Mark Watney style. If you manage to get back, you are stuck in the KSP world, with no way to return to real life. Have fun. I wish I could drive a tank instead of a car
  21. Did Starmade ever fix that problem where computers with Intel processors couldn't run the game? If they did, I will consider trying it out again.
  22. Yeah, I think that as the different series progress, the special effects become better, while the stories and writing gradually become more mediocre. I've feel that TNG is the equilibrium point, where the graphics are acceptable enough to not seem cheesy, while the story is usually pretty good. Of course, my observations may be flawed since I have not seen Voyager or Enterprise. I always enjoy the plots of TOS. "Mirror, Mirror" is always a good episode to watch, and the one where they find the two planets that fight a computerized war where any casualty has to commit suicide was also good.
