War Thunder - Screenshots and Discussion thread!
pTrevTrevs replied to Columbia's topic in The Lounge
Wait... Are you saying you replaced a Bf-110 with an He-51? But why? If you know how to use it, the Bf-110 is more than a match for any plane in its tier, and sometimes even able to tango with planes above its tier. -

Well, in other news, I've played the Bf-110 so well (either that or just for a really long time) that I got a new skin for it! Red diamond and beer mug victory marks sold separately. -
I think the landing legs ought to be a little thicker, right now they look more unstable than the 1920s Deutschmark.

Knife! No, Handses! String! Or... nothing!! How much DeltaV is required to achieve Low Earth Orbit?
-
Hmm, not sure if sarcastic or serious... Yeah, this is really a insignificant "discovery", most people do it already. Sorry.

Well, from what I was told, the Ju-88's greatest defense lies not in its guns, but rather in its speed. However, many fighters can still catch up with me anyway. Maybe I should push for the SM.79 (is that right?), because it seems to have both speed and guns. Oh well, at least I can dive bomb with the Junkers. -

well, right now, bombing is so difficult to pull off, and you don't get rewarded very much for it, certainly not as much as the fighter jockeys get for air-to-air kills. Also, unless you can manage to get either an escort or a huge formation, you will get shot down every time. I rarely live long enough to bomb a base a second time in Arcade, or to return to base and rearm in realistic. Of course, I may stand a chance now with the Ju-88, but somehow I doubt it. -
Do you browse the KSP forum more than other social networks?
pTrevTrevs replied to HafCoJoe's topic in The Lounge
Son, the KSP forums is my social media. I have Facebook, although I rarely use it, in fact I only got it so I could join school groups and stuff also to stalk my friends... I mean uh... for... for nothing else... really... just school groups... If you direct your attention to the left, where my profile information is displayed, you will see my thoughts about Twitter and social media sites in general. KSP Forums is life for me now. -

Does War Thunder have rules against profanity in chat? In other news, a few of my friends and I tried making a big formation of PBYs (well, three of us, all told) because I thought it would be good to fly together to combine the fire from our turrets to survive long enough to actually take out bases and such. It ended disastrously. A hotshot hurricane pilot came up and knocked me out in the first pass, while me friends eventually flew apart and each got killed in their own separate ways, albiet much longer after I bit the dust. Bombing needs reform. Bombing needs more reform than the Catholic Church did in 1505. Bombing is in dire need of fixing... -
If you want, you could make one lander designed just to get to Duna's surface with the crew, and another one to get back to orbit, a lot of real life mars mission concepts do this. If you've ever read The Martian, the MDV is said to not be able to lift its own weight with its engines, but I would recommend using engines that can at least allow it to hover, so you can pick your landing site instead of de-orbiting and hoping for the best.

HAHA!! Finally, a decent German bomber!!! It even has dive brakes! Also, Halloween pumpkins... -
Is it fun?!? Hell yeah it is! You can build giant star cruisers and battle stations on (or inside of) asteroids, and make star fighters and shuttles and stuff. You can set up giant mining stations on asteroids to rob nature of its treasures, and build guided missiles (I built a kamikaze ship one time) and have big ship to ship battles with other people! It's definitely worth $20 if you like building cool starships in the style of Minecraft. I wonder der if anyone has made a Space Engineers server for KSP fans...

Progress IVA should be more cramped and cluttered than the Soyuz OM IVA, since Progress carries very many things in its CM. Newer Progress models actually have water tanks in the CM instead of the center part (I forget what it's called in real life), so you could add that too. Honestly, I would rather see IVAs for Salyut/Mir/TKS before IVAs for cargo ships. About the docking ports, I think it would be interesting to have to follow a set procedure for docking with them. It would feel more immersive, and as long as you prominently display the instructions somewhere, people can't really blame you for problems caused by using them incorrectly.

Yeeeeesssss. I can finally have a decent reference marker! Will we be able to navigate between different planets through warp jumps or something? Can we descend to the surface of planets? I can't wait for this!

That's realistic mode. -
I bought Minecraft in 2012, right before it got invaded with a stream of obnoxious fourth graders. I eventually moved over to KSP because of how young the player base for Minecraft was getting and how difficult it was to find a good server (seriously, any server that has creative mode usually has this system where you get a limited plot of land, and that's it. Not good for building giant starships or aircraft carriers and stuff like that). KSP seems like it will be protected against getting an annoying player base simply because of how smart you need to be to play the game. If I could find a good Minecraft server though, I wouldn't mind trying it out again after all these years.

Today I learned about a Soviet super sub designed in 1949 that was 112 meters long, had 16 torpedo tubes, could carry four R-1 ballistic missiles, fourteen Swallow cruise missiles, and even three midget submarines! http://www.hisutton.com/Stalins%20Super%20Sub%20-%20Project%20P-2.html

If we're both thinking of the same decoupler, you have it right. The decoupler used between the OM and DM also has a built in parachute. I second the motion for cluttered IVAs. There aren't very many interiors in this mod anyway, so when we do get one, we like it to be as nice as possible.
