  1. Simple geometric shapes? Well, I guess since we don't have any real starships yet, we don't know what they should look like, and since there isn't air in space, starships could be cubes or spheres. That doesn't mean it looks cool though.
  2. Enterprise D? Ugly? yeah, just like your face... I kid, I kid. But I never considered the Enterprise D to be ugly, it looks more like a starship should to me. I especially liked the version with three engines from the last episode.
  3. Granted, but you use the One Ring to extend your life. In a few hundred years, the Ring will drive you mad and degrade your physical condition to that of Smeagol/Gollum. I wish I could travel back in time to command a WWII submarine
  4. Hey, TNG had some improvements in the science! In the first episode, you can see the surface of the Enterprise experience reentry heating as it enters the atmosphere of a planet, and they usually try to remember to mention that orbital mechanics are a thing instead of just making space travel out to be exactly the same as ocean travel, but in space. TNG is the best, no ifs, ands, or buts. I don't expect the new Star Trek to be as good as TNG, but it would be nice.
  5. I hope it will be better than DS9 was. I haven't seen any episodes of Voyager or Enterprise, but I've heard they aren't much better. What the hell, it's a new Star Trek series, I'll watch it even if it is complete crap! Rejoice, O ye nerds, for deliverance is at hand!
  6. Can't watch the video because I don't have a good wifi network right now and the amount of 3G/LTE data I have is minuscule, but is this relevant? http://youtu.be/wptn5RE2I-k
  7. Cool! I've been trying to build a working submarine for sometime, but I can't seem to get it to sink.
  8. 8/10 Crazy idea, do you have a permit for that kind of damnfoolery?
  9. You know those awkward moments when you're flying a bomber at the beginning of the match and you fly close to an enemy bomber, but not close enough for gun range so you just stare at each other as you fly past and dare the other to do something? Yeah, I had one of those moments today.
  10. Hardware development for my first crewed interplanetary mission is progressing nicely. I decided I wanted a communications beacon in Eve orbit to act as a backup for the dish on the crew vehicle, or possibly to speed up the signal's travel time, if that's even possible. This is Marathon 1, a test model of the beacon to be used at Eve. it has a small pressurized compartment to store repair equipment, act as an airlock for repairs, and as an emergency control station if the beacon must be operated manually. Soon, it will be visited by the first Soyuz IP spacecraft, a new model of Soyuz designed for the harsh rigors of interplanetary travel. The mission will test the Soyuz IP spacecraft and simulate an emergency repair mission to a Marathon Beacon. I'm thinking of naming the ships in the mission after famous battles in history, hence Marathon. I've considered naming the crew ship the Rossbach but I think there may be bigger battles that deserve having that spot instead. For the Gilly lander, I think Hastings would be appropriate, it's a pretty important battle in history. The Eve descent probe may be called either Somme or Verdun, and any other ship I decide to name will be Fredricksburg (American Civil War, for you people from Ye Olde Worlde), or possibly Austerlitz or Waterloo. Wow, I accidentally wrote a whole paragraph on ship names, for absolutely no reason other than to show off my knowledge of world history.
  11. Yeah, this sounds about right. A cousin of mine is an Air Force mechanic and works on F-15s, when I last met him he had loads of bad things to say about the F-22 and F-35. The old planes are really better suited for the kind of things we're using them for anyway. ISIS/ the Taliban don't have enough radar sets to warrant the stealth capability, and the old planes can carry a much higher payload to pound enemy positions or shoot down enemy fighters (if they had any). If, say, the USA and Russia were to go to war, stealth fighters would probably prove to be less useful than their designers had hoped. The way technology usually experiences a huge boom in wartime, it won't be surpringing to see radar that will be able to detect F-22s and F-35s within a couple of years anyway. Dont even get me started on how the F-35 will manage Close Air Support without a BigS 30mm gun!
  12. Well, Gaijin is a Russian company, so don't be surprised to see the early Russian planes downright outclass all others. The I-15 is pretty OP for a reserve plane, I hate fighting it, because it can brawl with Bf-109s and P-40s pretty easily. Volvo, pls nerf.
  13. Let me just put these out here for your... amusement... Oh yeah, Spectre! I think this is going to be Daniel Craig's last Bond movie, which is primarily why I'm looking forward to it. I don't really like Craig as James Bond, especially compared to the other people who have played the role.
  14. Hey, finally, a little rover like Prop-M!
  15. Do an F-15, it's the primary land based fighter used by the Air Force, since the F-22 is so expensive
  16. No worries, I didn't mean to offend anyone, I understand why it's in the filter, and won't use it again.
  17. Well, it was supposed to be "I promise, I am not a Natzi", but the forum's profanity filter censored the last word. I have misspelled it here to tell you what word it was supposed to be.
  18. 4/10 What exactly is Clevland's anti-air?
  19. I would find the equipment used for cloning animals and stuff and try to clone myself, or maybe use it to create an artificial human (not a clone of me) so I can repopulate the earth. Also I would declare myself ruler of the world and take up residence in the White House. I would begin a collection of vintage aircraft and drive around in a tank, since I could get gas for free, the crappy mileage wouldn't matter. Once I had a significant population going from cloning, I would try and get things running again that I would need to restore the world to its former glory, like oil rigs, roads, radio towers, etc. I seem to be the only smart person here, everyone else just wants to play KSP on a supercomputer or equally stupid stuff.
  20. Maybe you ought to try and use fairings to get a smooth, accurate shape. The biggest downside would be the abominable textures that Squad gave the fairings.
  21. Can't post pictures right now, but I tested the Dragonfly on Minmus and it works better than I expected. I was able to take off, fly several kilometers away, slow to a stop, fly around for a landing site, touch down, and ascend to a 25km orbit. The orbit insertion was done with less than half the tank left. I've also added two more upward firing thrusters, so it may work on the Mun now, I'll have to see.
  22. Ha! I won second place in my church's costume contest this year! Not everyone has a total aversion to 1940s Germany!
