  1. Starting a serial story (novella?) about the Mün. Teaser picture, thread up in a few hours.
  2. The Mün has some quite stunning canyons and craters.
  3. Wow! Terraforming... will that be Kopernicus manipulation?
  4. Not sure what you mean, but If you mean a partnership, I feel being the "Ideas Guy" isnt much of a role. Im just suggesting what Id like to hear, and the character of the planet.
  5. Ideas: Duna, starts as a low chant in high orbit, which morphs into Bedoin music much like Joe's cover as you approach the ground. Laythe: Very aquatic sounding, deep and distant. Mün: Adventurous music, like the Jurrasic Park theme. Eeloo: Lonely, with a tingle of boldness. Eve: Starts out angelic in high orbit, but becomes angry and harsh by the surface.
  6. Im not really a fan of B9 Procedural Wings, but its an easy way to make custom wings and lifting bodies.
  7. Really depends on my piloting skills. I once sent Val out of my low orbiting münlab, sent her on a course that brought her mere inches from the ground, then rendevoued with the station in an eva. ...soon after my station collided with a canyon wall. It was a 5900 km orbit...
  8. You whippersnappers who joined in 1.0 dont remember the good ol days of .25. Ah, when B9 was the musthave mod, and the souposphere reigned supreme. When there was no point landing on different parts of planets, cuz they all were the same on the surface. Those were the days. *puts on another pair of rosetinted glasses*
  9. I definitely think people are more likely to fund and support a moonbase, even just because it seems closer. Also, there is less of a signal delay and travel time is much lower. If the base needs to be evacuated, it can be done in a decent time frame.
  10. As mentioned, From the Earth tl the Moon is excellent for this sort of thing. This weekend, I built my münbase listening to and watching it.
  11. I feel a moon colony is more feasable. Less danger, cheaper shipping, same opportunites for "Pinot Lunar", etc.
  12. I don't seem to be able to make this mod work. Even when landed on the Mün, I cant seem to make it work. The autoroves I put in never show up on the list.
  13. Not sure quite how to use this mod. Once I set autorove, do i switch to a vehicle out of range, or go to the tracking station? The latter doesnt seem to work.
  14. Will this mod ever be completed? Its a really good looking crew cabin, but it has no cockpit.
  15. Id say the low orbit of a colonized planet, where it would be harder to see if an automated frieghter suddenly was reconfigured to dock with another ship...
  16. Laser launch concepts use a ground based laser to heat the water to boiling.
  17. Built a 75% reusable rocket, cabable of taking about 20 tons to lko. Pictures later.
  18. So how would a LF+O prop work in real life? I was thinking of a small rocket engine inside which turns a piston system.
  19. I always leave a suicide measure on trips to Eve, just in case. And for those missions i take the people with maxed out stupidity or bravery, and roll dice to determine who goes on eve missions. I feel only slightly better.
  20. Well it works with Environmental Visual Enhancements, and I dont know any reason it wouldnt work on Eve. Also, RoverDude, What is the Bouyancy Compensator for? The files seem to show that its a KIS scuba system for EVA's so how do I use it?
  21. This mod is really cool! Now, I'm not sure if this is really into the scope of the mod, but I would like to make a full-fledged Kerbal Aquatic Program, and I thought docking ports would really give a mod about under the sea a lot more... depth. Real life underwater docking (Didn't 1.0.5 add the ability to make male and female ports?) EDIT: Testing feasibility of underwater docking. Here's my sea station, which has a docking port.
  22. Reposted from the AirPark thread. I made my Eve base. The balloon fits in a 3.75m fairing. The science lab has a porch for observations. The rocket below is boosted to around 7500 m/s by the balloon and then released. The rocket then boosts the two kerbals to a 110 km orbit. I deem it a successful mission, all thanks to AirPark!
