Mine have gone airborn. They slowly lift into the air, and then fall a few hundred meters to the ocean below. How many radars and missiles do you think are left after that? None lol.
-
Are you using a check for submergence? Like the missile may warm the launcher, but the launcher be out of the water, and so unable to obtain water when "damaged".
-
For your sinking, are you going to try to have it similar to NANA sinking about in that superstructure and weapons are treated differently? Like weapons exploding when submerged, and superstructure would soak up water at a different rate when submerged. That'd be cool. Though, I don't know if that would be a problem.

I had a few questions. Is there a good way to guess how many engines would be needed for a given size of vessel? Does tweakscale still cause the hull parts to act strange? Also, a request! Could we get rounded sterns that are similar to the way the Iowa Class BB's stern curved? Originally the mod had something like that, but the original author removed and replaced those. I tried using the method of installing FAR to fix the ships flying into the stratosphere upon loading, but that caused the ships to get stuck in place upon placement with vesselmover. If the ship does move, it then goes wildly out of control, and then leads to a lot of smashy smashy in the end. I was thinking it may be because of the water density? Is that affected by what that community resource mod sets it at, as was mentioned previously in someone else's post? I would try the other mentioned fix of the anchor, but getting mods downloaded and to my computer is a long process due to not having internet at the moment. Removing FAR fixed the issue, but now I'm back to the stratosphere, lol. Thanks

Oh. Is that what that awesome Bridge you use comes from? Do want! lol.
-
Wait, there's another mod? I'm confused.
-
Has anyone heard from the mod author about any forthcoming updates? I haven't seen any activity in that mods thread.
-
I would argue that superstructure elements are part of the artillery system. Spotting towers, range finders, radars, and so on. What I really want though, is a nice bridge with an IVA. Spannermonkeys pics for his mod has a really nice bridge, but I have no idea where he got it, or how to remake it myself.
-
For #4, get kerbal joint reinforcement. For #1, He changed the parts geometry. hence the change in names. Though, i would have preferred the old parts stay.
-
How did you make the bridge on this? Edit: Actually, where do you get the hulls as well? You're ships look great, and I can't seem to find what you're using.

[1.3] Kerbal Joint Reinforcement v3.3.3 7/24/17
cavilier210 replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ferram, I was wondering if KJR is used upon loading another craft into physics range? If not, is it possible to get those same effects during that transition? I was thinking that easing physics when a craft loads into physics range may help vessels sitting in the water keep from entering the stratosphere upon loading when coming into physics range.- 2,647 replies

Where did you get the turrets for that ship?
-
How do you use that change? I see nowhere to download a new dll using that code.

[WIP][1.0.5][Beta 0.1.4] N.A.N.A. Sinking About
cavilier210 replied to kimiko's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Is this mod good for 1.1, or is a wait in the works? -
I believe that hangar extension has an update available. though, I couldn't get it to work. Until then, it may be necessary to just work on smaller vessels.
-
So, when I was having the problems with one end sinking, or the other, I just put ballast tanks on the sides, or underneath the side that sank. That seems to have worked pretty well. It lowers the ships speed, but keeps it upright in the water.
-
Which modulemanager is compatible with 1.1? I just used the packaged version.
-
I noticed, but I still have problems with some hulls sinking by the bow or stern regardless of any tweaking. Not sure what to make of this.
-
I can't seem to get the newest dev build to work in any manner. I downloaded from the link shown above, and copied the gamedata contents to gamedata in the prerelease versions folder. Kinda weird.
-
They were all equally scaled down to be about 10m wide. Could it have to do with how long the bow pieces now are? I haven't tested this in 1.1 though. Maybe it was an adjustment from 1.0.5 to 1.1
-
That could work. In the pics I showed, the only clipped in item was the orange fuel tank in the bow. I thought it would give it some extra weight, and thus pull the CoM forward. Which worked, sorta. What I did afterwards was removed the tank and put in ~120 tons in LLL weights just behind the point in the bow. That worked ok, but the bow is still popped out of the water. The other two hull segments are actually empty of fuel now, nearly all the weight in now on the bow piece, and it's still behind the forward superstructure. The bow may be excessively buoyant, lol Edit: Just tried with the BB parts, and it seems that bow also is way out of the water, even though it has 2x14" gun turrets on it. Edit 2: I believe the problem has to do with tweakscale interaction. When I launch a ship with untweaked hulls, there's no problem.
-
Well, I reinstalled the mod, checked the weights of the cabin parts, and checked the CoM. I got it forward of the center of the ship, but the bow still pops out of the water. Even if I take off all parts behind the bow hull piece, the CoM is well back. I think it's an issue with the modern medium bows mass distribution. It just floats weird.

Hi, I was working on this freighter and went to test it's cranes, and flotation, and ran into this problem where the aft end sinks. I removed some fuel from the sterns part, removed the ore I forgot was in that boiler room piece, and even added a full orange tank to the bow. yet here it sits, all tipped and stuff. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the mod or not, but I wanted to point it out. They're the medium modern ship parts at 50% scale. Would anyone have any advice on how to rectify the problem? http://imgur.com/a/i0gl3

Oh, alrighty. If you have the time, could you add in a stern that has that nice curve that the "Ship Stern" part had? It was sexy and none of the current parts appear to have that shape. I just added in the old parts that I was using so that my ship didn't stay broken.
