  1. I have a modded 1.7.0 installation, will it blend? Spending the night on a fresh 1.7.3 installlation. Downloading now. This is perfect. Thank you so much.
  2. @infinite_monkey EVA`ing Bob is legit, the Dreamchaser has only little RCS authority around the center of the vessel... But docking should be possible. I might have tweaked some thrusters "accidently" the wrong way... what gives... @beik Sorry i`m actually quite busy in RL; i`m glad you found your way around to meet the missiongoals, and please forgive me for some hardcore "KSP-Pro" tasks then and when... I just couldn`t resist to make it a real hard trip home for Bob. Everyone who can get Bob home with or without some advice or little help is a true Kerbal Scientist and worth being honored for the mission success! @Dexter_D ..Thanks for helping me out and taking care for the forumers here the past few days...
  3. @infinite_monkey, ...well, there might be a reason why very few people show off their successfull mission here Launching with the KRES IV is intended to be thrilling like in the cinematic... (Therefore i have slightly overpowered the ascender, anything else is on Bob - and Bob is a scientist, not a pilot...) Please post your mission success (F1, Imgur or similar)... Congrats! Awesome! Glad you liked this "Die Hard" Kerbal adventure!
  4. ... the Ec storage is limited, find a way to get as much as possible sunlight and reduce overall EC consumption. There should be a extendable solarpanel around IIRC. Fine control and reduced torque on the reaction wheel might help aswell... Make sure you have line of sight with Kermes, and extend the appropriate antenna...
  5. 1. Uhhhm ... antenna extended? 2. Errr... have Ec`s? (activate some battery storage....) 3. Kerbin occluded by Kerbol? (Wow, what a guess?!?) 4. Are you sure you`ve docked the antenna to one of the Habitat`s dockingports, i.e., the one with the solarpanels? (Who knows...) 5. Uhmmm... i dunno so far... 6. Have line of sight with Kerbin? (Watch mapview...)
  6. I don`t want to sound rude but i have studied your clip toroughly and see no issue. 0 inclination (undeployed) results in a very slight negative sum downforce or negative lift, any positive pitch on heliblades shows both blades with positive yellow lift vectors. Purple vector just indicates the sum of forces/ thrust direction. My funny quadcopter goes nicely up to 36m/s surface speed flat out horizontally, 0 Pitch lets it sink slowly for pinpoint landing. But i might be wrong, who knows.
  7. @Aphobius Hi there, i know i can`t help on your issue much but i can assure you that after 1.7.3 all the blades, rotors and engines (LF and electric) work as intended. (Clearly, a 100% clean KSP installation, you might want to verify your game cache maybe...) Make sure to set amount of attach nodes on the engine axel first (2, 3, 4, 6, 8 x radial symmetry), and attach then desired blades/rotors whit radial symmetry enabled to the nodes, use ALT-key to snap correctly. Then check rotation direction, on engine and blade, the coloured side of the blade is in direction of lift/up, or forward/ thrust. I made successfully 4 engine planes with six blades per engine, counterrotating, feather (Deploy), even counterrrotating double prop engines (clipped), and a fun personal quad copter, a Chinook style and so on. Takes some time to get in the matter, don`t worry. Set torque and rpm to Main Throttle in the action groups, set only pitch on helicopters, no yaw, no roll; and no pitch, yaw, roll on planeblades. Set deploy at AG1 with around +30 for helicopters, attach them flat with no inclination for example. A light motor does the job mostly, only heavy planes need full torque version. Put brake to AG2, down to 10. Have fuel or sufficient ECs
  8. ...normal mode, no extra groundstations, plasma blackout, kerbals revive after a certain time. Not much more quite stockish, challenging, but doable. I don`t have that much time right now, made three times the techtree without any cheating. It`s enough, the fun begins at minmus. And with a reusable Shuttle Rescuing the crew is the key for And getting the Lab is mandatory for
  9. Okay... while we celebrate the Moon Landing fifty years ago... Kerbals celebrate their ... uhmm... uhhh... Happy birthday, KSP! To the Mün! MÜN!!!
  10. It`s not a bug, dockingports must be decoupled once via the staging sequence when they come assembled in a craft. Then you can use the actiongroups to decouple them further while using the the assemblys. Hope this helps:D
  11. I have just tinkered with the small hinge at second tier in my new career and... i am quite impressed. KSP has changed. Seriously. My Kerbals are taking lessons in robotics for the next weeks.
  12. Sounds okay. When finished conquering, "Lush Paradise". While conquering, "Contaminated Hellhole".
  13. ...Another nice strategie to conquer the earth would be simply, "corrupt, distract, derail." How to do? 1. Show up incognito to a major government with strong economic and high-end warfare caps. 2. Pretend to be friendly. 3. Show some power, lure them in. 4. Pretend to share knowledge in exchange for submission. 5. Let the corrupted government go crazy on earth and all the other nations. 6. After letting the corrupted government rage for certain time, show up as "Good Guys", "end" tyranny, let the world know you are now "King of the Hill". 7. Force humanity to clean up and recycle all infrastructure made by them, back to cavemans. 8. When the planet is recovered and free of any human traces of civilisation, get rid of the caveman. 9. Enjoy a fully conquered, as clean as possible planet earth, rename it. Short version (Derail): 1. Show up as "King of the Hill". 2. Continue with step 7 as mentioned above. ... 10. Leave the planet with a good feeling in the gut.
  14. After googling "Howling Mad Murdock" ... might be one his soulmates. Some tend to enbrace their trauma. Jebediah >
  15. Excellent time to join! Some of us went back to "noob" with the latest DLC!
  16. Afaik the MPL is not supposed to work on the surface of Kerbin. But i haven`t processed any data ever on the ground, it would be "cheaty" and the idea of the MPL somewhat disregarded. May have being subject to a change, but who knows?
  17. I have started a new career, and it is a blast for me, MH and BG DLC have changed the whole experience and i was shouting through the house when Valentina touched Munar surface for the first time. Searching for the rocks, i felt truely impressed about the fact that rovers and robotic probes will have a impact on the future of my new careerplay, no chance to get things done by walking around and hopping over ridges by RCS, since it`s limited, dangerous and timeconsuming. I went looking for a mun rock in rather deep crater, and - i found one. And brought it back to Kerbin for science and thrill. And new parts, contracts, upgrades and more fun. Excellent. I haven`t even touched any robotic parts yet, i`m completly intrigued by other things actually... Slight spoiler of my achievement below: It feels so damn good, even for a long time user like me!
  18. He`s just a borderline guy on the edge of madness.
  19. @MoridinUK It`s a great time to come back to KSP... I guess many of us just started a new career to enjoy the new breaking ground DLC... I started yesterday a new normal career with MH and BG, and it`s slightly easier (and way more fun), we also have stock DeltaV readout, precise maneuver editing and some more nice shenanigans which make the game a whole new experience. We can gather rocks and stuff on other planets, science galore and ...robotics! Cheerz!
  20. KSPedia has a nice update and how-to for robotics. Doesn`t look that difficult.
  21. I have 0 users ignored. I am quite carefull not to bombshell certain discussions with my own stupidity. That may help alot. Some threads i simply ignore and i don`t care much what the matter is.
  22. Playing the normal career without the ominous cheat menu is quite a challenge, finishing the techtree by doing all the needed contracts and diving into the implemented loopholes (...) gave me real headaches. I`d call KSP normal career as a headcrack. 8/10
