This is a really essential mod. For most craft, it makes flying them with a keyboard and mouse absolutely effortless - compared to being an absolute pain in vanilla. Have had a few aircraft, however, where it doesn't seem to work nearly as effectively - in some cases being less effective than vanilla SAS. Is there a guide somewhere to what the different tuning settings do and how to adjust it? Particularly the craft settings page? To the layman, most of the settings menus are practically incomprehensible. -
I'm having an issue with the Kerbalism compatibility patch from another mod (Kiwi's tech tree) where some sample return experiments are claiming to be depleted even upon vessel launch. Have posted with more detail in the thread for that mod but can anyone explain to me exactly how sample return experiments are supposed to be set up?

Has anyone else had issues with the creature storage experiments patched into some of the Tantares parts with this mod + Kerbalism? Even on launch they claim to be already depleted, so can never be run. Have had a look at the config files, but don't fully understand how Kerbalism experiments with solid samples are supposed to be set up. Although it's probably already a mistake that these are sample return experiments, since the part they're assigned to (part of the equivalent to one of the Soviet Venera probes) is one that historically wasn't used for or capable of return to Earth. This is what's added to the part: @PART[4mv_science_container_s0_1]:NEEDS[FeatureScience,TantaresSP]:FIRST // Amethyst Size 0 Science Container { @techRequired = engineering101 @crashTolerance = 8 %gTolerance = 15 MODULE { name = Configure title = Living Creature Experiments } } @PART[4mv_science_container_s0_1]:NEEDS[TantaresSP,FeatureScience]:AFTER[zzzKerbalismDefault] { MODULE { name = HardDrive experiment_id = kiwi_insectStorage dataCapacity = 0 sampleCapacity = 1 } } which already i think i can see a mistake - because the Configure Experiments module gives you a choice between kiwi_insectStorage, kiwi_animalStorage, kiwi_insectRadiation, and kiwi_animalRadiation, but only adds storage for kiwi_insectStorage. But it seems like there must be an additional problem, because even the kiwi_insectStorage experiment claims to be depleted upon vessel launch. Additionally, the set-up for the Dust Analysis experiments seems poorly designed? They have a different result for each biome from low orbit, but the experiment takes almost 4h to run, and each part only contains one sample. So unless I'm missing something, this works really poorly with the way Kerbalism's systems are set up and makes it really time consuming and finicky. It takes four hours to run per biome, but in low orbit, you'll only spend a few minutes or even just seconds over each biome at a time - and you can only have one version of the part running at a time, and each has only one sample processing one biome at a time - so the so the experiment has to stop and start constantly in a really inefficient way. Either you need to constantly manually stop and start and shuffle around storage, or it takes much longer than it should need to. -
Is there a way of setting defaults for the device automation? Whether by in-game menu or playing around with module I.e. I'd like all of my craft to have fuel cells deactivate on high power, and reactivate on low power - and vice versa for experiments - but I can't see any way to do it except by manually setting it on the launchpad, and obviously this gets extremely repetetive and time consuming (defeats the point a bit for an automation feature!). If not, is there interoperability with kOS that might be able to achieve similar results? And if there is interoperability with kOS, is there documentation somewhere for it?

Yeah, actually looking at the patches again, i think you're right - it looks like it doesn't disable the original camera module. So without dedicated support for Neptune, I guess I'd have to first patch in camera modules from one of the supported mods?

Are there instructions somewhere for adding the camera functionality to existing parts? I tried to add it to some of the cameras from Tantares by copying the existing configs, and the modules are appearing on the parts in the editor, but they don't actually work at all as cameras.

@mitsvanThis is my one, although i made it in a rush so there might be a few parts wrong or missing. But I think regular soyuzes + historical Mir at least should be set up correctly. It's very easy to add stuff to it though - just copy the formatting and change the part names: Also done a couple of other rough patches for RealAntennas: for N3hemiah's Kemini There's also a really great Kerbalism patch you can steal from Kiwi's Tech Tree, which i made a little add-on to, since it's out of date - although my add-on patch won't work properly without the original

This is a relaly fantastic tech tree! The work you've done patching everything to fit together (especially all the Kerbalism patches!) is really priceless! Anyone have any recommendations for a contract pack progression to go with this? Haven't found a contract pack that really satisfied me since SETI stopped being updated, which was years ago now. -

Just Windows and Firefox. Conceivably could be something weird from copy & pasting into and out of dark mode, i guess? It displays normally for me - it's just copied and pasted from a text file, so no idea why they formatting should be different -
This is making me feel a bit like I'm going mad. I've just reinstalled KSP and installed a whole tonne of mods, and for the most part it's all working fine, but I'm being haunted by the most horrible noise in the VAB/SPH editor, and I can't for the life of me work out what's causing it. It seems to happen whenever I'm trying to attach a part with symmetry, as soon as I hover over the craft such that the new symmetrical pieces are ready to attach, the game makes this beeping noise as well as a really loud, rumbling vibration sound - it's like a mobile phone going off. I didn't think I'd installed anything that should do that, i can't imagine why any mod should do that, i've been through all the game settings and mod settings and toolbar options with a fine toothcomb and I can't find anything that seems like it could be doing that. And it's so annoying! Does anyone have any idea what it could be??? Mod list exported from CKAN is as follows:

Is it as simple as adding a line like: @TANKTYPE[Soil]:NEEDS[KolonyTools] //cfd { @PossibleResources ^= :$: Dirt 1; Mulch 1; Fertilizer 1; ExoticMinerals 1; MetallicOre 1; Substrate 1; Minerals 1; Polymers 1; Hydrates 1; Gypsum 1; Silicates 1; Silicon 1; Organics 1; RefinedExotics 1;: } but replacing [KolonyTools] with [RationalResources] and replacing the resource names with the ones from this mod? Am I right in understanding that the difference between the two mods is basically that RMM allows missions to other bodies, whereas KSTS is only to Kerbin-orbit, but on the other hand RMM is only for deploying craft, whereas KSTS can automate crew transfer and refuelling missions?

Really sad to hear this. Has always been an absolutely essential mod for me, and even when I've not been playing KSP, it was always an absolute joy just to periodically check back in on this thread to see all the lovely new models progressing!

Thanks very much! Should save me a lot of hassle. Does it only cover experiments, or does it cover e.g. probe core HDD capacity as well? If anyone has a similar patch for Tantares Space Probes do let me know!

Looking at compatibility with the science parts in @akron's CoatlAerospace/ProbesPlus and @DMagic's Orbital Science: ProbesPlus includes a patch which converts many of its experiments into their Orbital Science equivalent, and Kerbalism then has a patch which converts Orbital Science experiments into Kerbalism ones. Most of that seems to work fine (although I wonder, should the dust collector be converted to the solar particle collector? don't know whether they're modelling the same thing), except for the orbital telescope. The parts ca_telescope_a, ca_sciBoom, mer_rsp & ca_argo-mk4-cam get successfully converted to use the Orbital Science scopeScan experiment ID, but it's not then being intercepted by Kerbalism's Orbital Science patch to use Kerbalism's experiment system so just uses vanilla instead. Kerbalism's patches all basically use a level of ModuleManager wizardry that's way above my pay-grade, so I don't understand exactly what the issue is or how to fix it. EDIT: Think the issue might be that the Kerbalism patch for Orbital Science is only intercepting parts that use the module DMModuleScienceAnimate whereas the ProbesPlus parts are using ModuleScienceExperiment? But I'm not sure I understand how the Kerbalism patches are working at all tbh
