  1. It somewhat contradicts this phrase, doesn't it? And kilotons of games that have remained bad.
  2. I remember that a long time ago I launched KSP 0.90 on my parents' computer, where there was only integrated video, since this computer is needed only for the Internet. And surprisingly, I got high and smooth 40-60 fps for craft with hundred parts. A year later, I tried to run 1.0.5 on the same computer, and it turned out to be very difficult, the fps dropped to 8-15 at the minimum settings. Now probably there will be 3-5 fps for a small craft. So I think that with the addition of new levels of the game, on the contrary, the system requirements will increase. Like our desire to get the most out of the game, it will only load the computer more.
  3. Or because T2 wants to somehow end the story of KSP2 by overcoming the roadmap, since corporations value reputation, and money on a T2 scale is small. We don't know how much money the game made or how much it took to develop, so it would be interesting to know. Many developers boast of their sales, for example, Blizzard recently boasted of diablo sales. And when will it be? Here one can only guess. We are not told this either, not even about a year. Looking about what developers we are talking about. Who makes the design or writes texts - may well change the engine. Since we don't know much about what will eventually be contained in KSP2, T2 can easily reduce the amount of content. A little less new planets, a little less parts for colonies, we won't even know about it. Indicator - patches began to come out less frequently. New game in development. Of course, these are weak indicators, but it is too self-confident to declare their absolute absence. And I did not claim that KSP2 would be abandoned, it’s just that T2 might start spending fewer resources on the game than they might have planned before.
  4. Well, it's very prudent on their part not to promise anything specific, and on our part it's naive to expect that we will be able to see craft in 1000 parts with FPS above 30 on any computer. After all, no one actually promised anything!
  5. Can we even glimpse into this future? After all, we have never seen a working colony, we do not understand how colonies will be built. We haven't seen huge parts for megaships for a very long time. We don't even know what science will look like! Bug fixes and new engines are nice, but that's not what the new game was made for. Today the roadmap looks like a teapot of Russell - it is completely incomprehensible what is happening there.
  6. I think we would discuss KSP2 sales or returns with no less interest, but we do not have this information. Both are important for T2, since it is T2 who finances the development of KSP2 (I have doubts that sales of the game paid for its development in 6 years). Perhaps these consequences have already come - there are several new vacancies on the website of the game developer, where applicants are required to be able to work with unreal engine. Apparently some new game development has started, but I doubt that a new game needs only a few developers. Most likely, this is now being done by a part of the team that previously developed KSP2. But there is no clear evidence, maybe I don’t know something.
  7. In fact, the summer does not greatly reduce the number of players. This can be seen in Dota 2 and other popular games. Young people, on the contrary, have more free time for playing computer games in summer, as they would have to study at other times of the year.
  8. That's what I wrote in brackets. "They" do what they want with the game, for some reason not everyone likes it I didn't write that. This is a very strong exaggeration of my words at best.
  9. I highly doubt it works that way. It seems to me that developers have received a huge amount of support and approval since 2019, but the result looks sad to say the least. What is the meaning of this message? Only selected messiahs can criticize the developers? And the rest either remain silent or praise?
  10. Unreal engine and KSP? Sorry, but I don't believe...
  11. In general, this is very bad. I am sure that if the developers see that everyone is happy, they will put in less effort. Moreover, other developers can use a similar behavior model. It's not that they don't do it, but it certainly shouldn't be encouraged. Well, personally, you can just ignore someone's grumbling. About 5-6 years ago I played KSP1, and did not sit on the forum. I don’t know, maybe then someone was also indignant here?
  12. It will be just a fatality, but we have already seen this before.
  13. Yes, in fact, we were never promised anything concrete, only evasive phrases, hopes that the goals would be achieved. It seems the only thing that we were explicitly promised is the price of 50 bucks. [snip] I totally agree with this I will add that half of the parts of this craft will be struts. And I don't think it's good. Has anyone been able to fly to Eve and back from sea level yet?
  14. I'll try to explain my picture of the world. In this case, I'm seeing a dying horse named "KSP Franchise". We entrusted this horse to T2/IG/ST/Nate, hoping that they would take good care of it (of course, no one really asked us, but we all have a great affection for this horse, we worry about it, we would like to ride it on meadows). We have serious questions for the developers and T2, but it seems that our questions do not bother them much, according to their reports, everything is fine, we can only grumble helplessly on the forum. But it turns out that this is not possible.
  15. Since the fall of 2020, I have had the feeling that I am the only one who sees that the development of KSP2 is going somewhere wrong. And this feeling is constantly growing, and now it seems that they have decided to turn our forum into a special place for their own. It is written on our main forum that once there were more than 10 thousand members online at the same time, now there are rarely more than a hundred. What is the solution to the problem? That's right, fight the dissatisfied, who feel deceived, because all the problems are because of them!
  16. This does not mean at all that new employees are hired to continue the development of KSP2. Still, it’s hard to imagine where a level designer is required for KSP2.
  17. This has always happened, perhaps more often lately than usual, but many franchises and even genres of games have died in the last 10-15 years.
  18. No, but I see the results of this code, as well as progress in studying the causes of bugs and the appearance of fixes. Of course not, but I trust modders more than developers and their dedicated fans.
  19. They must not have seen the KSP2 code. For 6 years, it was possible to understand the code and improve it many times. Or at least not stumble over every bump when developing KSP2. I think the real reason is because the developers of KSP2 overestimated themselves, and they thought they could make the code better. But design errors and production hell only made things worse.
  20. The problem with the coverage of the game is that 4 months ago we were shown a whole one screenshot with heating, and a month ago a whole one scientific detail. And that's it. And now some vague wording. Will we see heating this year? Or science? I know one game in early access, in which the developers once a week talk about the percentage of completion of the upcoming update. You leave us too much scope for fantasies, and since we have already received much less than we were promised, many people paint in their imagination a completely unsightly picture.
  21. And then what can be discussed in the game until 10 years or so have passed?
  22. Yes, indeed, I completely forgot! I apologize to everyone whose feelings I hurt! Added! Now I have the right to ask questions about transparency? How is the KSP2 system different from the KSP1? For example, the addition of a mechjeb, in my opinion, would not require many years of development now, it would be enough to upgrade it.
  23. Where is this transparency? What will science look like? Does anyone work with thermal effects? Have you seen the letter from the modders?
