  1. If It was made before 1.1.3 I will not count it. As physics were different back then. When I did the run in your 51kkm plane I was getting a near constant 60 FPS. It occasionally dropped to 50 or spiked to 70 but the results were consistent with all other flights ive done and the other flights that have been done for this challenge. I was using AB to burn off the remaining 50 units of fuel because I wanted to land in that river.
  2. ya I don't expect you to. I used a calculator. Lets see here, Kerbin does a full rotation over a 6 hour period and it has a circumference of roughly 3770 kilometers. 3770km / 360 mins = roughly 175 m/s. (or 280 m/s i'm not really sure, I failed second semester math ) So Kerbin really isn't rotating that fast. It is just really small. Making circumnavigations vary extremely in distance based on which way you fly and your speed. On that note, I completed my test flight of @gridghost's plane. The results were as expected. It went 5 thousand kilometers over the original estimate. Which is forgivable. Not 31 thousand kilometers over.
  3. How is that even freaking possible I also did a thing. 'aint no octillions but its still warp 105. Or 105 times light speed. My calculator froze for a couple seconds when I hit calculate because those numbers were so big.
  4. Well, the actual math says that the circumference of a sphere with a radius of 600 is 3770. C = 2pi x 600 1200pi 1200pi = 3770 kilometers in diameter. Which makes no sense because you fly 5,800 kilometers when doing a circumnavigation.
  5. Some weirdness, I finally got this pack/mod to work and it is absolutely beautiful! But one thing, all my stuff that was previously on Duna is now on Titan. I have no idea why but it is definitely weird. Just thought you guys might want to know that.
  6. That's definitely the longest range almost hypersonic plane I've seen. What do you mean unedited screenshots? I've never edited a screenshot except for selective focus. Which I have only done twice.
  7. Yes siree i most definitely did. I downloaded all 3 just to make sure.
  8. Whenever i load up a game with this installed it always gets stuck on a black screen right when it finishes loading. It has the "modulemanager" text in white at the bottom and the little loading circle spins at 60FPS but it is all black other than that. I have tried this on 2 separate computers and gotten he same result. They were both fresh installs with no other mods. I really wanna try this out man.
  9. I think doing the calculation manually for your planes endurance would be more reliable than having the computer do it. As it is seemingly messed up in the case of @gridghost's plane. Anyway I just broke 6,000 kilometers in the big bird and I have burned 1/3 of my fuel. Seems like the prediction is extremely accurate in this case. It is definitely not going to make it to 51,000 kilometers.
  10. I'm working on a engine. It has 150 parts and 2 meters in diameter. It is also a pusher prop configuration to eliminate the thrust bearing which seems to be the buggiest part of all engines.
  11. Oh. Hmm. I am testing the panther powered version and so far it is still following the estimated flight duration that FAR predicted. I am 3,500 km in and it is exactly as predicted.
  12. See that there, Wheesleys are more efficient than panther's yet you get lower mileage in the wheesley powered version than the panther powered one.
  13. I set up a test of the Big Bird with the exact same flight parameters as @gridghost's flight. Ascended to 15,000 meters with after burner off at Mach 1.5. I ended up having some small differences in my estimates, with a 11.6 hour estimated flight time and 18, kilometers distance. Will report in 12 hours. Maybe more. Maybe less. I think FAR is calculating distance by determining the speed over ground, fuel usage per second, and how long that fuel will last at the current speed and altitude. But I don't think it can account for the decreasing weight as you burn fuel. Which increases efficiency. So theoretically the estimated numbers should differ more and more from the actual numbers as the efficiency of the plane increase. I.E. A plane with a estimated flight distance of 1000 kilometers might go 1045 kilometers in reality, while a plane with a estimated flight distance of 100,000 kilometers will fly something like 125,000 kilometers. The same goes for flight time in hours.
  14. Ya and his engine is much less efficient and has much less fuel on the plane..... I havn't tested it yet but I will tonight.
  15. You sent me a text file. That can't be converted into binary to be used in KSP
  16. Can you just post It on kerbalx real quick. you don't have to put pics or anything you cant save text as a binary craft file so I cant use what you sent me.
  17. FAR estimated 19,000 kilometers. How did you fly 51,000? Can you send me the craft file? I wanna check it out.
  18. Huh? How? 20km is easy with whiplashes!
  19. In my challenges the same person can win both challenges. Like, one person can win both parts in the same flight.
  20. Have you never flown to 20,000 meters before?
  21. I had flown for 43 hours already and didn't feel like doing another 4 hours worth of flight in circles. After all I still made 35000 KILOMETERS!!!!
  22. I didn't exactly say drop tanks WERN'T allowed. So ya you can have them. I put links to the forum thread and kerbalX hangar which both have much more information about the RPM cap and other stuff than I could ever or really want to put here. If you can build turboprops i'm assuming you already have VOID lol. I guess this is a challenge for the advanced KSP engineer. NICE ATTEMPT! I am taking a MUCH different approach...
  23. Alright, I landed my run with 4000 kilometers worth of fuel left in the tank because I couldn't make it all the way around again.
  24. That's why I said, "If you can somehow stage one." I honestly have no clue how you can do it stock
