  1. No. I get what you are saying from a technical standpoint - but the conventional usage of wide is... Okay fine I'll change it.
  2. Please report your KSP2 performance here ONLY FOR Widescreen, Multi-Monitor and non-standard resolutions. Include: Please discuss loading times, FPS and other results here only if you play at Widescreen / Multi-Monitor or other non-standard resolutions.
  3. Edit - I started the relevant threads. Folks participating... Please keep your results in the appropriate threads!
  4. Please report your KSP2 performance here ONLY FOR 4k resolutions. Include: Please discuss loading times, FPS and other results here only if you play at 4k resolution.
  5. Please report your KSP2 performance here ONLY FOR 1440p resolutions. Include: Please discuss loading times, FPS and other results here only if you play at 1440p resolution.
  6. Please report your KSP2 performance here ONLY FOR 1080P resolutions. Include: Please discuss loading times, FPS and other results here only if you play at 1080p resolution.
  7. If you are going to do this - you need to hammer into people the requirement of including their screen resolution. Then you must separate results into the categories of 1080p, 1440p and 4k. Example: Knowing that player JS has a 3070 but is only getting 30fps with a 200 part-count craft is disingenuous to the average player unless you also know he's rocking a 32 inch 4k monitor. The average person only knows FPS as a number and does not think past that. It will be incredibly unfair to the Dev team for people to start shouting about how 'badly optimized' KSP2 is because players with 3k series GPUs are getting low frames, where the misinformed presumption is that affected everyone, equally. However once you start scratching the surface and you discover that a 3070 at 1080p is fine - even optimal - the damage will already be done. The industry is in a transition state from the legacy of 24 inch monitors at 1080p to larger monitors at 1440p and 4k. Most people don't recognize that. Please collate results by the number of pixels that the GPU is being asked to push!
  8. After the recent furor over the hardware... The team recognized there is no way to please everyone... So they’ve all gone to Tahiti to refresh. Game not so much dying as abandoned
  9. @NFUNMeh. Price is still painful - just not as bad as it was. But performance is dramatically better for the 4k segment. That's the kicker most people forget. They're for 1440p and 4k. The 3070 is entry level 4k (at functional frames) (yeah, yeah 2080) - yet this Gen is really good for 4k. Not that you need these for 1080p - unless you feel like you can't live without raytracing. (that is kind of a joke - no one needs raytracing) Sadly it's way too early to figure out why they're suggesting 3080 for anything other than 1440 (+)
  10. Can you post it for people NOT on Discord? (it's trying to make me log in... and... Nope)
  11. It's the obscene pricing for GPUs that are driving this furor.
  12. Maybe we can watch that completely not bonkers demonstration of useful combat techniques by the NK army - such as bending steel with your neck and breaking concrete with your face? Truth is... Just watch the John Wick series over and over again if you want to know Gun-Fu
  13. To be fair - this is PC gaming. Folks need to move on from their 5 year old GPUs at some point. And... To be fair to the devs - if the recommended game spec was a Nvidia 1070 - we'd all be losing our minds asking "what the hell have they been doing these last 3 years?!?" Fact is its not their fault that Covid + China + AMD and Nvidia reaping huge profits off the card 'shortage' (which set the new floor for pricing) made the cost of cards abjectly ridonkulous. So, yeah - them saying the recommended spec is last Gen's upper tier (but not enthusiast class) card is right on the money
  14. The over and under on that doesn't pay well. Always a dumpster fire
  15. But it should have caught our attention that the ESA event had computers with 4090s installed... and we all glossed over that fact!
  16. Guys... dèep breathing time. For most of you still running standard HD monitors (meaning 1080p) a minimum spec machine will be fine. Those of us rocking 32 inch 4k/144hz monitors need the highest gpu we can ('t) afford. Although at this point I'm probably waiting for a 4080ti or whatever the next half‐Gen is... because I can lower specs as needed to keep my 3070 pushing pixels
  17. Mid range has always been a shifting definition. By 'modern' standards a 3080 is a last-Gen 2 year old piece of tech - so that's not exactly out of the custom for calling things 'mid range'. But like many I'm a bit weirded out by the news. My 3070 is below spec? Yeek
  18. I always assumed that 'Turtles All the Way Down' was a DiscWorld reference. Mistaken. When wondering what lies beneath the disc and its four supporting elephants standing atop the World Turtle... It's nothing. (the Turtle swims through space!)
  19. Yeah but light still travels at 186,000 moholes per siglap, right?
