Developer Insights #17 - Engines Archetypes
Drakenred65 replied to Intercept Games's topic in Dev Diaries
Basically it’s a month before the game goes live, there not going to make a major overhaul at this point. Yes there going to be making adjustments as we go but suddenly needing to balance and tweek all the possible fuel options is probably a non starter for them. as several have pointed out before, LFO has always been MethLOx. we got along just fine with just that untill we got jet engines, Even Nerv used LFO until then. Mods added options, yes, but usually most new players don’t load up on mods. And let’s be honest, the list of every fuel possible should not be part of the base game at this point when the reality is that the average new player does not know the actual difference between LHO, RP1, MethLOx or any of the other propellants out there from a hole in the ground. well other than realizing that poring them into a hole in the ground is dangerous -
This is very true for a lot of games, especialy nowdays. For example fallout 76 was in such poor shape that a lot of people felt it was still in Beta a year later. And for years a number of Facebook games were flagged Beta despite them accepting money for micro transactions, never mind other games pocketing money for Beta and “early access”

Steam stream images - KSC Beta Gameplay Timelapse
Drakenred65 replied to Vl3d's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Well I saw green and purple flashes. I wonder if it was in multiplayer mode and we were seeing some weird artifact from that, or maybe from an earlyer launch/landing and the flashes were from strobe or other lights just at the horizon. -
Question from the Russian community of the game
Drakenred65 replied to Vorobylllek's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Ok according to steam Russian is one of the supported languages. But as for buying it? Well you can get it outside of Russia, them bring it in that way. But that’s about it. Even then Steam and GoG are region locking so you need to keep getting patches outside of Russia as well. [snip] -
A case for adding money to KSP2
Drakenred65 replied to Ryaja's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The thing is if your already cheating to bring in resources to trade, why not just bring in the resources you need anyway? the main thing remains though, that an experienced KSPer will always know more about how to play and get ahead than a new player. also a player that has more time than another will get ahead unless it takes everyone login in to unlock an instance. -

When is Console Release
Drakenred65 replied to PlutoISaPlanet's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
There’s 6 sections to the roadmap. assuming dev cycles are 6 weeks, and 1-4 cycles to swat bugs, work in feedback, eat snax and redo any false assumptions made during development, your looking at 36-144 weeks. -
If a rover is able to put itself in orbit either your on Gilly or Jebs been tinkering again….. or someone’s confused landers and rovers again.

Technically some asteroids (4Vesta definitely ) at one point had a molten core and mantle, and 16 psyche apparently had iron volcanism at one point according to some theory’s, but generally most current temperatures are below 30c

Please don't be too silly that was very hard to read on my phone. Testing tiny font << Testing tiny font -
Well if it’s a Mercury analog then probably no as Mercury has a spin orbit resonance of 3:2. Which makes powering a permanent colony with solar panels insane with realistic power management that includes accounting for long nights . Unless you use a mobile colony or an orbital + with landers to move from drilling outposts to drilling outpost, or maybee fuel cell energy banking of some kind. Never mind needing to get rid of that much heat.

Guys, their is little point in arguing about this. It is what it is, a abject in KSP1 that indicates the solar system in KSP1, and may be a tease to KSP2. KSP2 is not a clone of KSP 1. it will have new content that was not in KSP 1. if that content includes more planets, while cloning in old, that’s fine. It’s not like KSP1 did not add in new content as they built it.

Well not realy converted to, just named. I suspect it’s an effort to simplify early rockets from the historical development (gasoline, alcohol, kerosine Tetroxide,/hydrazine and other propellants) that were developed from the 1930s to 1980s, and just stick with one that seems to be more currently in the news, because it’s recently become popular to use as fuel, for various reasons. And yes I’m aware that apparently it’s been Methane all along.
