Take a look at the last spacex launch on youtube. Look at the engine plume after it launches compared to when its close to engine cut off. When it is closer to main engine(s) cut off the plume has expanded. Also I recommend looking up Saturn 5 footage. That shows it to a much more obvious degree than the falcon 9 (OMG what is the Starship booster going to look like with its many engines!?)

I remember some video where one of the employees mentioned having to keep it secret from others until its announcement in 2019, so it might have been in development for a year at least before hand.

Might not even be the internet. I have 100 mbit internet, but yet it takes a lot of time to download the video as well. Maybe it's related to a server that we are connecting to, it may be different. I had it downloaded in less than 15 seconds but that was within 20-25 minutes of the post. Maybe a lot of people were trying to download it at the same time afterwards so the available bandwidth was overwhelmed.

I was part of the development of a game years ago (pre 2010) I did some minor contribution in regards to quests (programmed in a dumbed down version of C) I got access to the game about 8 months ahead of release. The frame rate was definitely a problem 8 months before release but was optimized well enough for release. We are still 6 months out (I am estimating a late February release). I wouldn't worry about this.

True, though I would be interested to see if the stars show up if the craft/capsule is facing away from the sun because there's no atmosphere to catch the light from the sun
-
Nice. This is good information

Maybe you live in the city where the lights are able to block out the stars at night? City lights even from within a suburb can be enough to do that to some degree. Go out into the country away from the city on a clear night. Its a different experience

Does it still count as pre-alpha footage? Also great teaser for us starving for more KSP2. I can see a battery, white decouplers, a heat shield. Maybe a terrier?

Developer Insights #15 - Writing for Kerbal Space Program
Anth replied to Intercept Games's topic in Dev Diaries
First time I ever laughed in KSP. It was absurd because it was so obvious -
I was hoping but, its ok. I will live.

I sometimes see a specific writers of episodes for TV shows. I am pretty sure that the writer of the episode is actually the one who came up with the initial script, then there would have been a lot of meetings after that to hone it to its final product. Its good to hear that you are in a team atmosphere like that. Its not exactly the same but collaboration like that makes me think of the phrase Practice Makes Perfect but on a much higher level when others are added into the process, especially when everyone is wanting the product to be the best it can be. Thanks for all the hard work you are putting in. I look forward to laughing out loud to the bad jokes and puns you guys come up with in possibly less than 6 months now. -
About KSP2?

See this would make sense. Also to have a collective of mods as well, say under RO or whatever. Though it wont work for having multiple versions. Though the only reason I did was because I was bug testing over different versions. Maybe KSP2 will be so solid that I wont need to do such things. Still...I like the idea of Intercept Games making a bucket load of money. I am not entirely happy with the ability to copy the game so easily.

A bit earlier in this thread. If you have more accurate information, that would be great Oh. Well we will just have to wait a bit longer then I guess. Not really that despiriting if its just cancelled from Gamecom. Still going to be released early next year at this stage. Thanks for the information

Huh? Where is this information you are talking about. (Looks to see if its April 1st. No)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerbal_Space_Program_2 "Kerbal Space Program 2 was announced at Gamescom 2019 on August 19, with an initial release date set for early 2020." Guess what starts on the 23rd of August? Gamescom 2022 and when is the release of KSP2? early 2023 Ramp up of promotional stuff should be very VERY soon. Hope to see you there @Intercept Games. If not, that's fine but I am hoping none the less

KSP2 shouldn’t need Sandbox (or maybe it should?)
Anth replied to Pthigrivi's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Lets say they decide not to have sandbox, it wouldn't matter. The modders who get access to KSP2 before main release would make a mod that is sandbox anyway by the time its released. Also we would know that there was no sandbox before release and enough feedback would change their minds -
Oh thats multilayered. I thought you were 10 off for a moment. Great reply to a very important question. Let me say for a lot of us here....gimmie gimmie gimmie Just to see someone quickly stack 27 Kerbals inside an engine bell makes it so much more real for me.

Why would I cheat or exploit the game when playing with other people? that is not what I was talking about. -
KSP2 shouldn’t need Sandbox (or maybe it should?)
Anth replied to Pthigrivi's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I still want the cheats of the debug menu in the game no matter what. I am currently putting a craft into Eve orbit with 'set orbit' The alternative would to launch a rocket from Kerbin to Eve every time which would be a complete waste of time
