Slowest plane endurance challenge
maranble14 replied to TheGuyNamedAlan's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I assume getting the most likes is a result of achieving lift at the slowest possible velocity? -
I did an entire apollo style mun mission, crushed the docking like a champ, collected tons of science, and guess what I realized JUST AS SOON AS I START REENTRY? I forgot my freaking parachute. These are the types of events that instill a rage quit. I legitimately had to get up and walk away from my computer because I was so frustrated with myself. Why oh why could I not have realized this mistake sooner? Like, you know, on the launchpad?
-
Title pretty much describes it. I have a couple that I prefer. I have always liked the NASA emblem, but I'm also a fan of the retro flag and satellite flags. What about you guys?
-
I'd say you should build a colony on Mun or Minmus!
-
You forgot solar panels -- or any other form of power generation
-
Ahh so launch clamps are the best solution then it sounds like
-
aren't the drills meant to clip into the planet's surface though? why should that be an issue?
-
@taniwha I took your advice about building on a flat surface instead of the mun slope I had my base on before. Observe the results

maranble14 replied to Nils277's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I wish that this mod came with some EL parts. The KPBS formfactor is my favorite colonization style. -
Thank you for the detailed info! It is much appreciated! I will take that into account from now on when I build off planet
-
Can anybody give me a clue as to why this kraken happened? lol

So what does it take to get off of Eve these days?
maranble14 replied to RocketBlam's topic in KSP1 Discussion
So what we really need then are just helicopter rotors in the game lol. Which I think someone already made in a mod somewhere. -

Rover dude is also having an issue with his rover wheels being able to retract, so this may lend a hint as to where the problem lies -

1.1.3 Hype Train: Branch Line Edition
maranble14 replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Idk if anyone else has this issue, but my hype train came to a dead stop when I found out that the VAB crashes have not been fixed. -
1.1.3 Hype Train: Branch Line Edition
maranble14 replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Discussion
As hyped as I wanna get, I'm not looking forward to the wait time for mods to get updated -
Don't forget about KW Rocketry... it never really works with 1.1.2 either
-
forget your framerate, how did you get that thing into orbit?! Props my friend.
-
I've gotten that weird disappearance of the UI as well. Glad I'm not the only one haha.

So I was thinking about something just now that I think would make KAS even more useful than it already is. When constructing any kind of orbital space station, it can dramatically increase your part count to add RCS & Monoprop to every piece that you send up to attach. What if you could make it where a kerbal on EVA could go out and grab ahold of a piece (by hand, not with a winch) and drag it to a location with his EVA thrusters, and then attach it to the appropriate node? This would enable you to add structural additions to a station without the need for additional monoprop & RCS thrusters. Plus it would also enable you to take parts off of one vehicle and construct another, all while in orbit. I'm guessing it is probably impossibly hard to code, but it would be super useful for gameplay.

Is it appropriate for adult adult watching cartoons
maranble14 replied to Pawelk198604's topic in The Lounge
That's because Germany has a serious tone about everything though haha. -
This isn't exactly a technology failure per se, but it is related. Anybody else ever make the mistake of talking to someone in person while trying to type something and end up typing what they were saying? Happens to me on the reg, and I always feel like a dumbass for it haha.
