Very nice Darren9, that scores you 137 points
-
That would put you on the Cheater McCheatypants scoreboard, you know if you're cheating or not, and the rest of us can probably figure it out, such as if you put your plane on an escape trajectory
-
The tow plane would be part of your airborne vessel, so you'd have to add that, but I'm sure there's other ways to get a craft in the air Oh and Kerbins radius is 600km, so.... 600 * 2 * pi / 2 = 1,884.95559215387 which is the furthest you can be from the KSC. You'd get -8,115.04440784613 points
-
Perhaps it's time you rebuilt it UpsilonAerospace? What you lose on dimensions you might make up for on distance

"Build the biggest/fastest/highest X !" No. This is a smaller, simpler challenge, for fun rather than fame, it was inspired by this, this and this. Build an itty bitty, teeny tiny aeroplane... And fly it as far as you're able... And enjoy yourself... Goto Stock Scoreboard. - Goto Modded Scoreboard. This is a points based challenge and you rate yourself, it's on an honour system but if you are suspected or proven to be cheating there is a separate scoreboard for you, but you really should try to be inventive. The points are gained like so:

Enter the challenge. 100 Points!

Fly a kilometre. 1 Point for each whole kilometre.

Carry a passenger. 1 Point for each Kerbal.

And points are lost...

Too heavy. -1 Point for each 0.1 mass including fuel.

Too wide. -1 Point for each 0.1 width.

Too tall. -1 Point for each 0.1 height.

Too long. -1 Point for each 0.1 length.

Too complex. -1 Point for each part.

We're doing this live. -50 Points for no Kerbal.

If only I could fly. -100 Points if you travel less than 1 kilometre.

By any means necessary. -10000 Points if any part of your journey is by means other than airborne.

And here is the Zunzuncito in flight. 25 points for my aeroplane plus 33 points for distance travelled earns me 58 points, a modest total for a modest challenge. The Linux Thread!
sal_vager replied to sal_vager's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Well, I have some good news Percival, the Linux numpad issue is all Unity's fault but thankfully they've gotten round to fixing it. Unity 4.6.1 release notes Now all we have to do is wait for 1.0, Squad is bound to update Unity Oh and numrow buttons for action groups works fine, there may be some other cause for that. -
Nuclear engine question
sal_vager replied to nikolay-spb's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
"Why don't you do X?" "Um, we're only on M.....?" I'm sure they're getting round to it, it's not exactly the end of Kerbin if LV-N's also heat and expel liquid oxygen -
There's already a major screenshot thread that was moved to Fanworks, sorry.

Nuclear engine question
sal_vager replied to nikolay-spb's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Because it's a game nikolay, and the LV-N isn't a reactor, it's supposed to use the heat from sub-critical uranium to heat the propellant directly. So Kerbals just pump their usual liquid fuel and oxidiser mix through the engine, why waste perfectly good reaction mass? -
Sound is being overhauled already, so no need to suggest it

Brightness Slider on Lights
sal_vager replied to Alshain's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The suggested feature is already implemented, /thread. -
New to KSP in Linux. 64 bit question.
sal_vager replied to Leszek's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Leszek, it's correct, if you start the x32_64 binary you'll be using the 64 bit version, but there's nothing in the game to tell you this. The big change is in how much RAM you can use with it, it'll easily go over 4gigs and that's why it's popular with people using a lot of addons. Speed varies a great deal but making sure your graphics driver is up to date definitely helps -
This thread is a complete train wreck. Closing.

Squad can't work on Windows x64, it either works or it doesn't, and for too many people it doesn't. Unity4x is mainly a 32bit environment with some experimental x64 support, and with Unity releasing 5 it's not likely they will ever fix the limitations of 4. Unity5 at least has a 64bit editor and debugging tools so even seeing a bug should become possible, though there's still no guarantee of fixing it. Plus any move from 4 to 5 is bound to introduce new issues, not just for Squad but for any current Unity4 user upgrading their project to 5. We'll don't have much choice but to wait and see. So it's not really disappointing that "Squad won't work on 64 bit Windows", to use a car analogy it's unfortunate that Squads car has an engine that's fine in one gear, broken in another, but all the tools to fix that gear are only available in the next model.

[PLEASE ANSWER] Is there aliens in Ksp Or A Mod that adds them?
sal_vager replied to LucaBunny77's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Well there's trees, grass, cacti and one dead Kraken, that's it, and there are no plans to add any other aliens to the game. Please see here and here. -

Why is "Forum" censored in the Custom Title?
sal_vager replied to TheCanadianVendingMachine's topic in Kerbal Network
Try it now. -
I'll be the first to admit that when it comes to clever designs, my brain nope's out and I end up sticking an engine under some tanks under a pod. My aeroplanes aren't much better unless I start playing with the offset tool, but they still consist of an engine behind some tanks behind a cockpit. So it's no surprise that my entry here looks so tame, but the rules say I can't change it. Which is a shame because I spent all morning making it better... It's a lot more fun now and at least looks a bit more interesting, even if it's not exactly pretty, but what it loses in the beauty contest, it makes up for in the acrobatics department. In spades... So have fun, I did The Ham Sandwich 2, Hamageddon!

Duplicate parts in editor.
sal_vager replied to kimbokins's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Hi kimbokins, we don't usually like to see thread bumping but I can see it was necessary in this case, can you give us more info on the issue please, see the sticky threads on how to find your logs and post them, also pics would be good as we don't know what parts you are having trouble with -
I've never been one for designs as wacky as the above, you can blame a lack of imagination, I like planes to look like planes. So here's my "general mucking about" plane, I use it for flying between the buildings of the KSC, basic aerobatics and trips to the islands and mountains, it's not fast or long legged but it has bags of lift, essential for leisurely flights with granny, gliding and avoiding the R&D buildings at 50 metres. I know anything can fly badly in FAR but this plane is designed for fun, so I'd appreciate it if you can try retaining the flight dynamics of this one, oh and I like the way it looks just as it is It relies on a careful balance and centralised fuel, see if you can parkour off the side of the VAB, I know it is able to do it The Ham Sandwich.
