  1. Did you unzip a new copy of KSP and MechJeb or did you move the folder? It should "just work" as long as the most up to date MuMechLib.dll is in the plugins folder and the parts are in the parts folder, MechJeb will create a mumechlib folder within PluginData, but only if it is allowed to write to the directory, which Windows or Anti-virus will prevent. Make sure KSP is whitelisted in your A-V, and make sure you are not running KSP from Program Files, Desktop, Downloads, or similar places, if you have done so you will find there are files in ~\application data\ksp
  2. Oh yeah, that feeling is amazing, back before KSP had the ability to save you'd be on edge whenever you had to land or do anything risky, as a failure meant you had to try again from the beginning. Persistence is too good to do without though, but I leave those F5 and F9 keys alone
  3. Yeah this happens a lot Jimbow, it's due to the way wings are handled by KSP and it will hopefully be fixed though it is not high priority, I think it's hilarious and kinda like this bug
  4. Bluejayek, if you look at some of HarvesteR's old blog posts you'll see that KSP was originally a 2D physics game with 3D graphics, the 3D physics came later
  5. Hi Dan Yeomans, welcome to the KSP community I'm sure you'll fit right in here, there are many people who came to KSP from Orbiter, in fact the lead developer at Squad, Felipe Falanghe, loves Orbiter as well, and credits the Orbiter community in KSP

Hi The Pilot, welcome to the community Well done on finding that out, I think it's quite well known at this point though, but did you know the persistence file is plain text and can be opened in notepad? You can edit out individual ships or debris, and do a lot of more crazy things if you are careful, backup your file first before tinkering

Hi Darkstorm406, MechJeb needs to create a few files when it is in use, which it wont be able to do if you are running KSP on the desktop, in fact running KSP from any Windows created folder or subfolder you create in a Windows folder will introduce strange problems, I suggest you unzip KSP to a folder such as C:\Games
  8. Well BrokenArrow, Unity3D on which KSP is built, can create games for iOS and Android, but whether such devices are capable of running a game like KSP I do not know I am pretty sure that Squad have no plans for mobile versions at least until after the 1.0 release of the game.

If your file extensions are hidden by default, then you should now have a filename.lua.txt Either disable hiding of common file extensions or try right clicking the file and selecting "properties", you should then see the whole file name plus the extension and be able to change it. Also, .lua is a text file in a sense, the code is in a human readable form, just formatted so the lua interpreter can read it, see here for details.

  20. Hi Kayaking4autism, I'm glad you are altering your Beta 1.3 add-on to better conform to the wishes of Squads legal department, I suggest as well that you alter or remove the earlier versions as they would still be breaking the rules on distribution of add-on parts.

  22. New parts are mentioned here but no details, and it's still in the planning phase, so they probably wont be ready for 0.17
  23. Kayaking4autism, Cap'n Skunky and the Rules are both clear, and these rules come from Squads legal department, we have no say in the matter. You must have permission to redistribute parts that are not your own, if you do not have or cannot get the permission, you cannot redistribute those files, you can always link to the necessary parts in your original post. You must also provide a license and the source code for your work, the license can be as simple as "You can use and share this as you wish" but you have not done either. If you make these few basic changes then your mod will be fine, if not then it'll be removed. To reiterate: Remove parts and plugins that are not yours until you can get permission to distribute them. Add the source code for any plugins of your design. Add a license to your add-on, so people know where they stand on the add-on's use.
