  1. You should check what cards AMDGPU supports first @JoelleEmmily as it's their new official open source driver, I think it works with the new RX480, the Fury and similar. Also you may want to try Xubuntu in a spare partition first, rather than losing your Mint install, in case it's not to your liking. And yeah, in a perfect world Linux would be the main OS, and in many ways it is, servers and embedded systems use Linux far more than any other OS
  2. I don't know of issues with oibaf no but I do keep seeing people with issues with Mint, and I don't think it's as good as everyone says. Which card are you using @JoelleEmmily? I'd avoid the fglrx from the repos, but as you're using oibaf I know you're doing that already. I'd like to support AMD, but drivers :/ Maybe AMDGPU will actually work.
  3. Okay sometimes that can leave stuff behind, such as saves and mods, can you try finding the folder that part is in and deleting it manually, then doing a cache verification please.
  4. We have to wait for the next release of KSP, as it has to be exported in the newer Unity version, and anything that breaks from the update need to be fixed too
  5. I'm using Xubuntu 16.04, so I have the xfce desktop, I seem to be avoiding the graphics resolution issues that are reported on the Gnome and Unity DE's, maybe it's worth installing xfce and selecting it at login? I've had no real issues with 16.04 or with KSP, the only time I had problems was with an older kernel update causing the PC to lock up, but that's since been fixed. Also I'm using Nvidia, though I hear that Unity have improved their support for AMD with newer versions of their editor.
  6. Just one? Okay it may be something else. When you deleted the data did you delete just that part or the whole of KSP? It's in GameData/Squad/Parts/Command/Mk1-2Pod
  7. How long have you tried leaving it? This comes up rarely and the last time the player left the game until it started, and after that it started normally. I can't seem to find the thread at the moment to check.
  8. Hi @liquidmetalrob, this is a Unity3D issue and not Squads, so there's nothing Squad can do about it. But it looks like Unity has finally fixed this for version 5.3.3 Click here for the Unity issue.
  9. Hi @Castille7, yes only craft who's filter is active will be shown, mouse over the top edge of the screen in the map or the tracking station to see the craft type filters drop down into view.
  10. Hi @yermawsadancer, what happens when you run the KSP.app file directly instead of through Steam?
  11. The hat switch is actually treated as another pair of axis, rather than as buttons, so the hat can also only be bound to the axis bindings on the right hand side of the settings screen. Do you calibrate the stick in Windows before starting KSP?
  12. Okay, the only time I see this is when the legacy shader is enabled in the settings.cfg, or when the graphics driver does not support shader model 3
  13. That sounds like the Unity stencilling @JoelleEmmily, it can occur when using a lower resolution than your desktop while in fullscreen, matching KSP's resolution to the desktop should prevent it.
  14. Is your graphics driver up to date? If you could post your dxdiag hardware report we could check.
  15. Hi, silly question but are you using the axis assignments on the right or the button assignments on the left?
  16. Hi @Sharpy, did you run out of EC at any point? There is a bug where probes lose their abilities when EC recharges after falling to zero, this can be fixed by quicksaving then quickloading to refresh the scene.
  17. Hi @Reppuli92, Are you using a Nvidia or AMD graphics card? Your symptom sounds like the graphics driver is not loaded, can you check which driver you are using please.
  18. That CPU should be fine, but it will still reach a limit with very high part count craft so the cause must be elsewhere. Can you upload your logs from an unmodded KSP install, and your dxdiag to dropbox please.
  19. Hi @DrewP, can you please upload your save to dropbox.com, thank you.
  20. The repo is fine, it's the patcher itself and it's being worked on. You can force Unity to use specific resolutions, there are a number of command line options here. These are likely what you need. As for fixing this, Squad will continue to update to newer versions of Unity as they become available.
  21. This issue can happen when the Physics.cfg file in the Kerbal Space Program folder is not being used, this happens when running KSP from inside a zipped file, or from a protected folder such as Program Files, or from a desktop shortcut. If KSP is not already in its own folder please unzip KSP in C:\Games\Kerbal Space Program and run the KSP.exe directly, and you should then find the parachutes are working properly.
  22. You should have enough RAM at 8 gigs, but more RAM won't help unless you're filling it and Windows is using the page file (writing memory to disk). KSP is most affected by your CPU, so closing other applications that are using the CPU will not only leave more CPU time for KSP, but that will also remove them from memory, reducing the likelihood of Windows having to use the page file. Reducing KSP's graphics settings can also help a bit, as well as fewer or smaller craft in flight.
  23. Hello. I think @Dman979 is around here somewhere.
  24. Well, today I round up all the entries in a zip file and give it to the devs After that I wait for their screams and take notes... Thanks to everyone who participated, I'll update the leader board after the devs have recovered. Closing for now!
