  1. If you're starting a career game (this is the default) you will only have the beginner parts. You need to do contracts and do science experiments to earn science points, letting you unlock new parts in the R&D building.
  2. I'm going to throw something new out here. Who are you cheating? Yes you, the player wondering if it's cheating to clip parts or use Mechjeb or anything else. Are you cheating another player? If you are you already know it, you're doing it deliberately and you deserve to be disqualified. Are you cheating yourself? This is harder to answer, you may be cheating yourself out of the fun of a manual landing if you've never done one before, or by using infinite fuel all the time, but it really comes down to you and how you want to play. It's fine to use infinite fuel, but if you claim you went to Laythe without using it, you're just cheating yourself. Are you having fun? As long as you're not cheating others this is really the question you should be asking yourself. Don't cheat yourself out of having fun by worrying about what is "cheating".
  3. Hi Toomuch77, this is actually already being worked on
  4. Hi Uppergot, welcome to the forums. Craft aren't hosted here, just links to craft elsewhere, so if the links are not maintained by their poster all you can do is hope they fix it, check KerbalX.com or se if anyone has a copy.
  5. Yeah, those guys are so late. Next is @selfish_meme
  6. I used to assume that as well, but UAC wasn't asking players affected by this if they wanted to run KSP, and the errors they showed me said that data execution prevention had prevented an action, there was no mention of UAC. It happened in Windows XP and up as well. This occurs because the zip, unlike the installers, cannot add the entries to the Windows registry telling Windows that KSP is allowed to write files in Program Files.
  7. Something stops the zip version of KSP from writing files when it's in Program Files, no ones reported that it was UAC though. And yeah have as many copies installed on your PC's as you like, it's fine, just don't share it And I mean it when there's no copy protection, not even Steams, so you can copy the Steam version to other folders and have different mod loadouts. Have fun playing, if you need any help just ask
  8. KSP from either source should be fine, there's no problems installing addons in the Steam version and updates are handled by Steam, you also get the Steam controller support. Actually it can be more of an issue preventing Steam from updating games. With the store version there are caveats, you can't install the zip version to Program Files for example, it has to be unzipped to a non-Windows folder such as C:\Games\ to be sure to avoid issues with data execution prevention. But there is also an installer version on the Squad store which installs to C:\Kerbal Space Program by default. KSP is also available from Good Old Games, and installs to Program Files\GOG\Kerbal Space Program. With the Store and GoG versions though, there's no discreet patches, so updating requires a full redownload at this time. There are some issues with Windows 10 I am aware of, the main one being Windows 10's tendency to roll back your graphics drivers, or to completely remove them, when you update. This results in KSP not being able to start, but a reinstall of the driver fixes that. There's no copy protection with KSP, not even with the Steam version, so need to worry about that, there's no server authentication to play and you only need a connection to update KSP. Hope this helps
  9. Nope, it's me, the other sal_vager. Next up is @regex
  10. I'm not an actual person, so I guess for @legoclone09
  11. Okay @lynwoodm, this changes your login, so don't forget to use the new name
  12. hi Joey, when you're near the top of a ladder press F to clamber up
  13. Where did you install it Tom? If it's the Squad store version and you unzipped it into a protected Windows folder such as Program Files then Windows will stop KSP from saving the ship, so you can't launch. Please unzip it in C:\Games instead, don't move the current copy as Windows will still prevent it from writing, if the new copy works the one in Program Files can be deleted. If you installed via Steam, make sure you have some free hard drive space and verify the cache (right click KSP, properties, local files tab, verify integrity). Let us know how you get on.
  14. Hi @Emma Ann Priest, can you please delete the settings.cfg in the game folder, this will reset KSP to the default settings, then start KSP directly with either the KSP.x86 or KSP.x86_64 file. If you are still unable to operate the menu after this, please upload the Player.log from /home/yourUserName/.config/unity3d/Squad/Kerbal Space Program/ to a file share site and post the link here.
  15. It looks like you need to redownload KSP, or verify your cache on Steam.
  16. Welcome to the KSP forum daterxies, we have a main planets thread here with lost of ideas so I popped your post in here so you can join the conversation
  17. If someone could post a link to that tweet I'd appreciate it. Also, adding Steam workshop due to requests via PM's. Edit: Red Iron Crown found it.
  18. I'm going to add this to the Common Suggestions list, all future Steam workshop request posts can go in here There's no plans for Steam workshop, mostly due to the fact that KSP isn't exclusive to Steam, but there's other reasons such as the potential for malicious plugins, as Steam workshop has no addon moderation, if there's a malicious mod on Steam workshop it can take far too long for Valve to respond to it.
  19. Nope, me, responding to a 20 hour old notification from @Starwhip Who I think may be next ...
  20. Yep, it's been like this for a while actually, but you do have to make sure they line up.
  21. OSX? Linux? Windows? The shortcut is different on the different platforms, so it'd help to know which you are using. But do make sure your alt and F12 keys aren't being used by some other program, and that they aren't stuck/broken.
