  1. Tell me why I crash to desktop while using all 6 gigs of my VRAM... in stock! I install this and it runs better, less VRAM? What is with this game?!
  2. I just want to say the LinuxGamingGuru is literally the only self proclaimed guru I know of that is an actual guru. Also I will test to see if this works with RPM/MAS and all that. Should be a great addition to the IVA experience.
  3. No idea how to put a quote in a edit or how to just reply and tag someone so I'm double posting. A file in the zip is corrupt in the latest version. Didn't even check to see if that part was updated(probably not) but if you just take all the files except that one part and then copy that part over from the next latest version it works fine.
  4. Yea over a decade into this game and some of the textures from the beginning didn't hold up over time... Some mods have their own parts and support for the functions of this mod. Wild Blue Industries has a few parts.
  5. How are you guys assembling these in orbit? They are way too big for docking ports! I was think about using Konstruction but I really don't want an entire mod just for the weldable docking ports...
  6. I'm trying to run 300 part crafts with 150 mods... I get 10 fps after optimizations with an i7-6700k @ 4.4. Of course stock runs at hundreds of FPS. Looking to get at least 30 or 20 while I'm docking to a big craft. If I can get away with just getting a new chip let me know but Intel so ya cant... I'm hearing you can overclock just a single core and down clock the rest? Sounds like a pain but if it helps I might do it. GPU/HDs/PSU are all newer so no worry there. Is it really just all how fast a single core can go? Should I worry about ram speed? 32 gb enough? 16 is not! The Ryzen 7 770x looks pretty nice... Trying to avoid Intel!
  7. Jimmy is 100% correct I have been on the FPS hunt recently and I can tell you one thing. Parts or mods. If you want more FPS you gotta prune them. Only other options are get a better CPU or refactor mod code to not run so bad. Some of the code in these mods are as old as the game! Most are pretty good though. 30fps for this game isn't even bad BTW.
  8. I swear I was using more VRAM before visual mods lol. Either way my GPU is working like a dog in this game but doesn't seem to ever effect FPS much. Tested and I did get more FPS by changing it to the lowest number. Like you said, it's just running time slower. It will tend to explode changing warp speed! Better Warp solved that though. One major difference from the last time I played a few year ago is aero. Going fast in atmo used it just kill my FPS, now its only a little worse that space. I wonder what FPS I would get if I get a new chip? Board, chip and ram for $500 gonna get me a real improvement? I literally spec'd my current PC for this game years ago. Bout to do it again!
  9. Hello and thank you for keeping this mod alive! I have been using this mod FOREVER. One thing that always confused me about it is why the FPS hit? I'm trying to learn to programing and looked at the source but I don't see any reason why my FPS gets cut in half like it does with this mod active. Line 90 of VesselViewer.cs "//Latency mode to limit to one frame per second if FPS is affected" Does this not work? If that's supposed to mean it drops to drawing once every 75 frames I would say it doesn't work since when you are getting 5 FPS after opening the window you would notice lol. I'm not really too concerned about this mod not working well for me with my 300 part crafts but I always wondered.
  10. Well, when I say maxed for the gpu/cpu I mean at least the single core is maxed since this game doesn't use many cores. MY CPU was at 50% or so which is better than the 16 or whatever when only 1 of 8 "cores" is working. I watch task manager and my VRAM and RAM really are maxed. Yea I think I just need a new CPU. I bought this CPU for Kerbal some years ago but it is time! Its crazy, none of those settings seems to do much. Maybe a few frames. I turned all the graphics to minimum and it wasn't much better. Right now I just installed about 20 graphics mods including Scatter and Parallax and even with 1440p I lost a like 2 FPS out of 10--12. Tried without FAR, Not much different. Aero still slows my PC down but its better than it was a few years last I played ago by a lot. Funny enough I forgot to load Tweakscale once and I think I got more FPS. My craft looked funny though! I still don't understand how the limiter works lol. Mine was set to .11. I just set it to .03 and apparently that gives me 50% more FPS at least with this craft. That being said I'm at 265 parts now so maybe that helps too. Thanks for the help! Edit: Yea going form .03 to .12 give me a solid 7 more FPS on the runway going from 10 to 17. Nice gains! Edit2: I installed the warp control plugin and slowed the game down to 1/4 speed and saw no increase in FPS! That being said warping 4 speed doesn't decrease my FPS unless I'm near the grounds or breaking up in atmo or something.
  11. Long story short I get 40 - 60 fps in crafts above 150 parts. The stock Acapello craft is 60+ FPS. "Stock" FAR shuttle gets the same with a few more parts. Really happy with that since its better than it was last I played a few years ago on the same machine. Even with a 200+ part craft made from mainly heavily modded parts I still get about 25 fps which is what I was aiming for. The problem is when I add just a few more parts to my giant craft everything slows ways down to about 7-10 fps. My RAM seems to be bout gone. My CPU and GPU are maxed. Even the GPU ram (6gigs) is gone which really amazes me. I installed and uninstalled all the graphics mods and they didn't really seem to do much to my FPS. I turned all the textures and setting in KSP to minimum and it didn't do much. The weird part is the clock never even turns red which is new to me. I used to always play with a red clock. I had about 150 mods installed at one point but am now down to the bare minimum and it didn't really make a big impact on FPS. I just really want to get 20 fps in a 300 part craft while landed or in space. I want to be able to walk around and maybe even land a plane on it! Was also planning on doing the flying part 100% IVA with headtracking which makes sub 20 fps tough. Funny enough IVA doesn't hurt my FPS even with rpm + DE. Oh, and I want to record it RIP FPS! If I buy a better CPU will this problem get a lot better? I've been out of the loop for some years. I suspect a few of the parts I'm using (gondolas) are not optimized as well as possible so how hard would it be to just throw a flat mesh on them or something? PC specs: Here is with 283 parts. My old design had 308 but had very similar performance. Here is with the Gondola taken off. Its about 45 parts. Takes a big FPS when going fast in thick atmo but I don't do that with this craft except for fun anyway. Here I also took the innards out which was about 75 more parts. It was hard to fly with the balance so messed up but fps still wasn't too bad. A little inconsistent. Stock test with same everything for reference. 150 parts on this does a bit better than myship striped to120. The pictures I have been showing may leave you wondering where the part count is coming from so here are a few shots of what I got. It's supposed to be a self sustaining habitat so there are a lot of little bits. All the gondola hangers and airship hangers are full of fuel tanks. Lot of STX and SPX parts inside 2 hangers with scan sat stuff as well as stock robotics. I know its a lot lol its fitted for a full mission to eve with no support or refuel.   12. I just use CKAN as my launcher. Problem solved, and I can browse more mods while my 200 load. Or you could just make a shortcut to the kerbal exe file and run that. Seems a lot easier than all these other workarounds.
  13. I have noticed you have to have a probe on the craft to make this mod work. Makes sense given the name but is there a way to get around this requirement? Also if you have a probe controlling a craft that also has people on it and the probe is destroyed, the camera wigs out and requires a reload of the scene. Love this mod.
  14. Airships Nov 2019 Incompatible Due to it using the same "Atmosphere" resource with a different density. What does this mean? I don't know what was going on in 2019 but blimps work with Kerbalism now. Problems I have had are with electricity usage and generation. I have 60k electric power and any electric fan from airships will use the entire thing before it even spins up. Also the nuke generator gyro is way op but two are not even close to power any one fan. Anyway I was reading the Wiki and still can't figure out how to write a config to get this to work. Where do I start? Edit: Ok I figured out the atmosphere thing was solved in the via MM patch in the support folder. So I just make some MM patches to fix the rest?
  15. The original thread is at the top with the requirements. You may be confused because those are not the requirements to get all the screens and such to work. For cameras you need the camera that comes with RPM or Hull cam VDS cameras. Scan sat for the map view.

  17. Seems the elevator module isn't being loaded. At least that's the error I get in the console when loading the game and ships. The hanger elevator works just fine though.
  18. That was happening to me on the 1.10 version too. Wasn't too inconvenient as you could just click the buttons to show/hide them and they would change.
  19. Anyone else ever collide with something called parallax plane 17? It happens to me at the end of the runway when I have to dip near the ground before the water to get enough speed to take off. Doesn't happen when I turn off the collision in the config. Other than that the collisions seem to work fine for me despite using a decent amount of mods some of which are outdated.
  20. This mod is amazing. Makes space planes/planes more challenging. I don't think the terrain "bumpiness" was working until I disabled terrain scattering? Think its a Kopernicus thing. Also does Minmus not have a texture or am I missing something? It still looks the same way it did 8 years ago. Haven't been there yet just looked though the tracking center.
  21. A must have for driving very large, heavy and unstable things like fully loaded space planes trying to taxi.
