[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
JadeOfMaar replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Personally I do and always did want Thalia to have lava oceans, ever since I had the idea to make it into the toasty death-trap that it is. For the heat effect to work it needs to and hence does have an ocean, but unless Galileo decides to change the visuals to make an ocean properly visible up-close and in scaledspace, the ocean remains hidden and unreachable.- 7,372 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]

In that case the entire planet has lava and burns anywhere and everywhere. No planet can have harmless and harmful oceans simultaneously.- 7,372 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
JadeOfMaar replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
There's no challenge to be had in a harmless, eye-candy volcano. There is no feature to apply ambient heat to an isolated area or volume on a planet. The only thing getting threatened by the volcano is your CPU and it will be a bother for the > 90% of the time you're not chasing screenshots or just doing stuff at the KSC.- 7,372 replies

SSTOs! Post your pictures here~
JadeOfMaar replied to KissSh0t's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
This one has no particular name but is another unexpected, well-functioning all-stock plane. It did originally suffer the inherent side-effect of containing slanted hulls but I think it's well countered by clipping some counter-slanted wing segments. It easily hauls 4 tons to maybe 120km orbit. That's not a particularly impressive figure next to some other awesome designs in this thread. I did get a professional compliment that the design seems sufficiently modern (i.e. plausible to become an IRL concept spaceplane design). Okay maybe I lied. The radial intakes under the nacelles are Twakscaled. -
I swear I hit the Like button on this post already with its similarity to your previous post. Ah well, here's another Like. Is there a dev thread for this?

I just got inspired by SpaceX and launched some stock sats (ComSat Lx) aboard stock Kickback SRBs. I happened to get them co-orbital and nearly perfectly aligned opposite of each other. Then I built a sat with greater range (ComSat H2) and launched it into geosync orbit also on a Kickback. All of these are a first for me in a very long time if not the first ever. Their orbital periods are 2 hours and 1 day respectively.

That sounds like the answer I'm looking for. Mac users may need to have QB64 and/or Wine installed to use the generator. I wish you well on the Python project. Make it so!

[1.12.x] Mk2 Expansion v1.9.1 [update 10/5/21]
JadeOfMaar replied to SuicidalInsanity's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Atomic Age is on SpaceDock. It's ancient but still works and contains a rather heavy radial nuclear jet. It should be scalable but idk. Also checkout this mod for non-Mk2 shaped nuclear jet engines.- 1,520 replies

parts [1.12.x] Karbonite/Karbonite Plus (K+)
JadeOfMaar replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'll add this to my PR. Done. I thought so. Water does have some wonderful, combustible constituents. And it gives quite a lot more use to the Karbonite Distillers and Ocean Pump. -
parts [1.12.x] Karbonite/Karbonite Plus (K+)
JadeOfMaar replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@wenth A propellant's ratio translates into a consumption rate. It will have an effect in-game. The engine will run twice as long on the same tank of fuel as it did before your edit. If you need more advice, feel free to start a thread in the Addon Discussion board and tag me. Let's not hijack this thread. -
parts [1.12.x] Karbonite/Karbonite Plus (K+)
JadeOfMaar replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@wenth The engine(s) you are trying to configure contain the obsolete ModuleEngines. What you want to do is (a lot of work) firstly to rename ModuleEngines into ModuleEnginesFX, compare the parameters that are absent or present between both, and create the related series of associated EFFECTS nodes (outside of ModuleEnginesFX) that will contain visual and audio settings as you're hoping for. This part here I never bothered to study it but from what I can tell, you may have put something invalid here which lead to an NRE and the part not appearing. For reference for a ModuleEnginesFX, study these engines that do have fancy particles: Stock Jets: Panther, Whiplash, Rapier Stock Rockets: Vector (keyword is SSME), Rhino, Mammoth Karborundum Torch Drives. Ignore every other engine. You can tell when it shows the same particle FX as the NERVA, Terrier and Mainsail. Don't alter the propellant ratio. No harm will come of it but you will find yourself the owner of an interestingly efficient Karbonite rocket (or is that your intention). By halving the ratio here you've effectively doubled its Isp. Ultimately you can end up with something nice like these cloned engines on the left. They are LFO versions (with blue accents instead of red as per KLF convention) and should have already been sent in a PR to @RoverDude. The 1.25m engine contained (at the time) the FX from the Twin-boar and Vector but I later changed it to the FX used by the 1.25m Torch Drive. By the way, RoverDude, I'm interested in the change of propellant in the Torch Drives. I see they now take Water instead of Ore. -

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
JadeOfMaar replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So, this from the 1.3.1 pre-release changelog, By chance is this the case? Did you have an active vessel with no EC/no kerbal/no probe core? As in, were you last focused on, example, debris when you left your game?- 7,372 replies

Please give specs. There are still several models of a machine that can pass for "the latest." @seanth Is there a particular runtime or something you have installed that it's safe to expect most users won't also have? I have a bit of experience in trying to get Win apps to run on Mac or Linux. So I'm thinking Wine and/or Mono itself.

[1.12.x] Near Future Technologies (September 6)
JadeOfMaar replied to Nertea's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I've met with the problem of harvesting Argon and Xenon and made reference to it in my tutorial "How to Near Future." From my experience I must inform you that there are two sides to the problem and you're approaching both of them all wrong. You are correct. Argon and Xenon should have incredibly low abundances. But also, they're at the mercy of the RNG. If you create a new save or edit the seed value in persistence you're likely to have more Xenon to harvest, and possibly less or no Argon, and all other resource abundances will change too. In the resource configs, don't multiply their current abundances but declare a new and better range of abundances. The Cryogenic Separator's ModuleResourceHarvesters are configured slightly differently from say, a Karbonite scoop (which will work as desired and supports Argon and Xenon so study the configs for that). @Nertea may not see much point to harvesting an atmosphere while flying in it so his device both looks like, and is coded like something that should be immoble while operating. I can't guess if he intentionally disabled it from harvesting faster if moving or this inability is a side effect of his code and CRP being bugged. -
They're large on purpose. I'm a bit spoiled by the fact that my favorite Twitch streamer likes his sunflare large and has a super-large screen. I can reduce them all and post an update but in the meantime you can open my config and increase the third numbers in this area: @Scatterer_sunflare:AFTER[scatterer] { author = JadeOfMaar // Config for Primus sunflare @Sun { %assetPath = SunflaresOfMaar/Stock/Primus %flareSettings = 0.6,1,0.4 %spikesSettings = 0.5,1,0.4 Replacing both 0.4 with 0.8 should be quite enough for you.

Why does my jet make these interesting airstream effects? [solved]
JadeOfMaar replied to TonyH01za's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This is the new stock Mach FX (since KSP 1.3). It doesn't always show up when you go supersonic but it happens fairly regularly. -
I revisited my 2.5x install, checked up on the last few mods I have to get and little tweaks I have to make before I step into another attempt at a Science game (however long that might or might not last...) This mid-game SSTO came out and stretched its legs. It's draggy as heck but it still makes it with a fair margin for dV in space... granted it has some specific engine patches to make it and other planes of mine viable above stock scale. I did some test launches and a little more exploring with @Angel-125's Wild Blue ecosystem. My spaceplanes will likely have WBI Coolant pumping through them instead of heatshields mounted on them. Ultrasonic spaceplanes aren't everything so here's a Buffalo, prospecting at the crack of dawn: testing convertible drills, ISRU, BARIS, and Coolant production. There's an Aurum lode right under it.... But that's not what I was looking for.

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]

It should. Great care was taken to ensure that GPP is mathematically sound in all areas. if any specific config is needed however, for GPP to load with Principia then that does not exist.- 7,372 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
JadeOfMaar replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
You still have your craft files. Copy them over to the SPH and VAB folders in the new save and cheat them back into place, and cheat back the unlocked nodes and spare science you had at the time. Optionally, take a step back from KSP if this bug really landed a low blow on you.- 7,372 replies

[1.3.0] OPT Space Plane v2.0.1 - updated 29/07/2017
JadeOfMaar replied to K.Yeon's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@MaxxQ OPT Main shows as "OPTSpacePlaneMain" in CKAN's registry file and is current, but does not show in the GUI's listings. OPT Legacy shows in the GUI but with it's rather lengthy SpaceDock name and a possibly conflicting identifier "OPTSpacePlaneParts" (Note that the SpaceDock name does not contain the word "Legacy"). Ultimately this is a little mess resulting from when OPT Legacy on SpaceDock was OPT Main but then @K.Yeon gave it over to Stali and reposted OPT Main. @stali79 It may be about time to repost OPT Legacy on SpaceDock and change the cover image and description on the current to show that it's osbolete. I can handle the CKAN/netkan stuff if you wish.
