Lol. I meant to say I only tuned one of them for this particular situation. I've modded many engines, many ways in total. I've also learned to manipulate drag cubes and several other things directly concerning KSP aero. Also, it's easy to mod only one engine at a time. When you're ready to start tweaking individual parts, or if you want a stock engine tuned a certain way, let me know.- 7,372 replies

Well this is comforting. I've only modded one jet engine so far, explicitly for full use in denser atmosphere... Conversely, rocket engines get worse, right? And I did make the Karbonite jet engines slightly more powerful at Kerbin/Gael sea level. For reasons™ I wouldn't consider this cheaty. At the end of the play session, anyone who flies on Tellumo still has to deal with much more drag and much more gravity (or in Catullus' case, a much taller atmosphere).- 7,372 replies

I have a few useful things spread out to all corners of the tech tree, including the highest node. I'm kinda surprised that such a haul is so easy. But I'm still a newb player. Airplanes are cool and easy. You're missing out. But I share the sentiment about VTOLs and even the TCA mod. VTOLs are hard.

Spot on. I'm considering unticking a few things too to spare more IRL play time for getting around. And I'm also getting overall input lag and lag when changing scenes and activating experiments. Furthermore a few parts occur several times in their given tech tree node. I suspect BARIS may still be doing a little too much. That and I have Ven's.- 571 replies

"Air combustion failed" is the only (appropriate) status Squad coded for when an air-breathing engine can no longer use its fuel or has exceeded its performance envelope, as Squad provided only for engines that use combustion. Regardless of the propellant, a large fan engine is not supposed to be able to operate at extreme speed. According to its config it should still be usable at that altitude and velocity. Are the engines being used to provide forward thrust? If not then their angle of attack is very high and they may stop taking air, as would any normal intake part.- 1,520 replies

Finally started to get a bit of a hang on things and unlocked a bunch of good stuff. It was either a male scientist or female pilot that flew this actual flying science plane a few times now and brought back flying and splashed science.... they even did an EVA report while flying and the plane had no probe core. Which totally did not include incidents where the crewman lost their grip and were flung over the plane's back. For VTOL it has an inline VTOL engine from Mk2 Expansion and at the moment, a bunch of Buffalo rover wheels. Later on the first comsat was launched to a puny 220km orbit, after a great deal of timewarping, finding that the wrong version of the craft was integrated, and timewarping with the correct version. Even after sufficient correction efforts and time wastage investment, the probe core's SAS broke near instantly before the upper stage separated to deorbit itself. Today I learned of Wild Blue's SolidFuel SRMFuel resource and gave it a try, and used fairings for nose cones... and packed some upper stage classic SRBs for epic ulage for pure giggles.

I had a good deal of fun myself today. General KSP frustrations (for whatever reason) aside, here's my highlight. One of four upper stage SRBs + the lifter core engine suddenly failing... Even after waiting out an integration.- 571 replies

@Pie82 Your Math is incorrect and there is no mod conflict. But make sure you have USI tools installed or the particle collectors won't work. -

When you install this mod, the path for it needs to look like MyKSPFolder\GameData\OPT_Legacy\ Make sure you have a version of Firespitter for KSP 1.3 if you're using KSP 1.3, and that you only have one ModuleManager DLL file... the latest version. If you did these right, scroll up a little and click the link in @stali79 signature. Help us to help you. -
I'm hoping this doesn't become a problem for me. In fact I'm hoping for lots of science to earn and to spend. Today I finally started my science playthrough in GPP 2.5x. It's worth noting that I have MOLE installed instead of DMagic Orbital Science, which should open a floodgate of science for me, plus Kerbal Environmental Institute and Science - Full Reward, and science at 100%. The thing is, I have BARIS installed, and in Science mode, the Test Bench feature consumes science to raise part reliability quickly. Every launch of this little plane so far (about 5 launches) it has fallen apart and I've accepted the death of one scientist. I've opened about 10 tech tree nodes pretty quickly but I haven't begun to spend enough science to keep these Junos from jamming and threatening valuable Gaelean lives. I'm in for some SERIOUS trouble when I make a plane that's actually supposed to fly (or at least has wheels with brakes).

From what I can tell, anyone who has even landed on Tellumo has made sure that their landing spot is far from sea level... Tellumo's sea level pressure is not 5 but 10 atm. We did prepare something that would affect stock rockets in the style of @OhioBob's Eve Optimized Engines but that didn't get to see the light of day. You present a nice idea, though. Loading GPP's scatterer bundle alongside (and disabling through MM) the stock bundle is preferred to directly editing, deleting or overriding scatterer's stock files. GPP is complicated to install and does not need that added step. Also, overriding scatterer's files is stone-age, just tedious and leads to incompatibilities, other errors and confusion, especially when it comes to mixing planet packs.- 7,372 replies

Of course, such a reduction in drag will have its downside...... And in third place: a new tech tree node. Folks will need to research just a little harder to acquire the most OP very best of OPT's engines. -
