  1. Hear, hear! My system is not that great. This mod doesn't appreciably affect my performance at all.
  2. Looks like it was ETT that was my issue. So after much troubleshooting I have just finished installing GN. I was able to start a new game, but I don't see any new stars in the tracking station. Am I missing something? Ok, I didn't have Kopernicus installed it seems. Now that I do, I can zoom out to see the other star systems, so that works. HOWEVER, Kerbin is.... black, and seems to be in perpetual nighttime.....
  3. So I had to reinstall.... downloaded the zip from the KSP homepage. Got CKAN and imported my .ckan file. After the mods installed I was able to successfully get to the opening menu, but not start new game. I would become unresponsive until I had to end the task. So I painstakingly went one by one and installed each mod alphabetically, started the game and made sure I could start a new sandbox and career. I have narrowed my issue to the ETT I cannot start a game with it installed
  4. no planet packs yet... actually, a search for one led me to this thread. I went to try GN first before attempting any planet packs. However, I did have KSPI-E installed....
  5. Well, tried GN and it totally killed my install. Could not start and old game, or create a new. Trying a fresh install to see if this works. If so I am more than happy to test out @Freethinker's assertions.
  6. http://imgur.com/B4LsB3u Yeah, I see it there then it's gone again. Which is why I stalk this thread for the proper update I suppose.
  7. Then I might as well edit the save file or use hyperedit too right? I don't know how I want to play now. Career has lost it's luster. I want to legitimately unlock all the nodes in the ETT in my current career, but after that... the most fun I have with the game lately is testing out mods. I wish I had found this community a year ago!
  8. The stock MPL allows you to level up your Kerbals without returning to Kerbin first. Am I somehow not seeing that option on the upgraded Science Lab in KSPI-E? If I want to take a new Kerbal on an interstellar mission and get the experience as I go, so the stars can affect the science rate, or maybe have an engineer be able to fix something, it seems like I would need to take along an MPL just to have that option.
  9. not sure how to call attention to a unanswered post without looking pushy........
  10. @FreeThinker, can you not submit your experience in the science lab, as you can with the stock MPL, so you can level up as you go interplanetary? Seem so redundant to take both.....
  11. make sure you have YongeTech Tech Trees along with this. When you start a new career, you should be able to pick the tree. I also have the Community Tech Tree installed (comes withe KSPI-E), and while not an option to select, it seems not to conflict..... for now
  12. Ok, so my initial approach to tackling this tree was to rush getting the MPL, and then get leveled scientists to Minmus while first flying by the Mun to gather science on the way. I am currently pumping out roughly 500 science every 35-40 days if I keep the data filled. I failed to remember to escape Kerbin's SOI briefly before landing, so only one scientist is level 3 I have since updated and installed a few mods and contract packs. Science is extremely precious in ETT. I have managed to rush to the MPL by doing ALL the science I can at KSC and it's immediate surrounding biomes. It was just enough to open the node. So now my question is, what do I spend my science on? Which branch will give me the most gain back in science? Should I be able to unlock the entire tree eventually? Thanks !
  13. new version on CKAN? hmm... I wonder if it is having issues, I could have sworn I originally installed 1.11 from the thread but it recognized it as an earlier version
  14. I can attest that this mod works on 1.2.2 for both Linux and Windows, and at least for MY PC and GPU, it provides nice visuals at a PLAYABLE framerate. Thanks very much @parameciumkid!
  15. Ok, @FreeThinker. I think my misunderstanding is between the Free Electron Laser, and the Multi Bandwidth Transceiver on the ship you designed Could you explain. The laser makes the beam, and the transceiver sends it? But why are there different choices between the two? With simple trial and error, I can get the most power by setting the laser to long infrared, while the transceiver setting doesn't seem to matter. On the receiver end, I get over 9gw in orbit... but on extreme UV. So I am very confused, but also THRILLED
  16. Weird, I was getting better power the other way with red light, now I don't have enough thrust to leave the pad. Is it because of the atmosphere @FreeThinker? I must be missing a concept edit: ok, I switched to infra-red and now I am getting over 2 GW of beamed power!
  17. maybe I am experiencing something similar? For me it seems not to matter what my solar transmitter wavelength is set to, the receiver on my launchpad can only connect to it via extreme UV and visible light. I can upload some screenshots if need be. edit: Ok, so the Free Electron Laser was set to red light on the craft file..... now I have it set to UV vacuum and my launchpad receiver is picking up the far UV now
  18. So, my craft on the pad is definitely connecting to the solar station, but on extreme UV and visible light instead of the far UV that the transmitter is set to. I was actually able to launch a xenon propelled ATILLA fairly high before aero forces won.
  19. Transmitter is set to far UV I cycle through all wavelengths on the launchpad. I am picking up power on the extreme UV and visible light spectrum, which show a different source max power than microwave. Maybe I am getting connected to the solar station? I have yet scale up the transmitter and redeploy the station however.
  20. Hmmm... so I have my station transmitting on far UV. It is high noon on the Kerbin launchpad, and I have a craft with a multi-bandwidth transceiver. As I switch bands, I can pickup my microwave network, but not the UV. I know my solar station has line of site to Kerbin and I can see the sun above me. What could be my issue?
