Another great one! When I next play KSP I'll download them and see how they fly. I like the part count-effective design compared to some replicas (though it is often harder to do in stock). It seems that you have linked your electron replica by accident, but the correct one can still be found on your kerbalx page

Regional Armed Forces Show!
Skylon replied to KenjiKrafts's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
My kerbalx page: https://kerbalx.com/Skylon Not all fully working yet, and some rockets there too -
I agree. Other than no need for landing legs, there isn't too much that landing on the pad helps with. Landing on the pad is crazy, especially with a rocket that is so big. I wonder if they will ever stretch the booster like they did with the falcon 9, but I suppose they could be overestimating it based on previous experience

Why not allow craft submissions? This would open this up to more people, including those who could make video but don't feel they have good enough craft Edit: What is the setting? Ground, sea, space, space station, going to explore the Mun or the whole solar system? Will you be wanting scatterer on it? I've got Sci-Fi Visual Enhancements (or Para-Sci, I don't remember) What about the bandicam earmark? Of course you could shrink the height to allow for people to crop it out

KSC Air And Car Show. [9-17 UPDATE]
Skylon replied to Kerbinchaser's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Hmmm...how about this: https://kerbalx.com/Skylon/SB-1-Dragonfly, coming the heavy aircraft category weighing in at over 20,000kg with weapons loaded Built in 1.2.2, will that be a problem? Uses stock weapons borrowed from MiffedStarfish as I have little skill/effort for making my own. High quality KVV render (for some reason my steam screenshots are bad quality): -
was going to launch on my birthday. Oh well, it is close enough Two launches in two days sounds very interesting. On the same pad?
-
What about with a cargo ITS in orbit for refuelling/extra food and water. The ITS would remain on the surface for only a couple of days in this case
-
Could a fully fuelled ship land on the Moon? Also, how many flights of the tanker would it take to refuel the ship just for a Moon flyby/orbit/landing? There would be less cargo if they keep to only 100 people (they could expand this for the shorter journey)
-
Edit: Please ignore

Single RAPIER efficiency challenge
Skylon replied to Wanderfound's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Has to be SSTO? -
Download? That looks great
-
Actually, that would make sense. Considering that it is meant to last a journey to mars then there should be no problem with people staying in it

Was the raptor test fire a full size version? I thought their business plan was sorted, with the steal underpants thing. Though, the men's underwear market is expected to be worth $11Bn in 2020, which was his stated cost that the Apollo program was. What happens if they loses the rocket on he first launch? I imagine they won't make too many of them, and losing just one might be devastating. As for other payloads for the ITS, could it launch huge telescopes into orbit? Could they do a preliminary moon mission, and start mining operations there? Could there be use for huge satellites? They could launch space hotels, and then use the crew ship to fly there, though it may be a good idea to adapt it for easier docking, with a nose mounted docking port. The falcon 9 and falcon heavy could launch every ISS module again.

Stuck on loading screen
Skylon replied to Skylon's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Sorry, I should have been more clear, I mean the fully black loading screen, with the circles orbiting in the bottom right. Like the one you see when launching a rocket. Normally it is quite quick. -
Played around with tweakscale, may have overdone it a small bit Maybe I'll get hangar extender and make one the size of the runway...yeah, good plan The biggest one is only 224m long, and just below 4,000 tons. For comparison, the largest existing aircraft carrier is 332m long (They're not flying, they're floating, the shadows are acting up)

Skylon's Stuff [SF-1 'Peregrine' added]
Skylon replied to Skylon's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Added SB-1 'Dragonfly', a full stock bomber -
If you like small rockets (I love yours) then could you try the falcon 1/1e. You could even see if a falcon 1 heavy could be feasible Or you could try a really small company, Cloud Aerospace. They have a thread on this forum. Linked is the post of their planned line-up. Someone has already done a full stock replica, but you could improve it with tweakscale. Edit: Forgot to link

Ksp 1.2.2, modded install (mods shouldn't affect this problem) Note that this has only happened twice so far. Sometimes my game gets stuck on the black loading screen, the one with circles orbiting in the bottom right. It doesn't crash, just gets stuck, so I don't think there is a crash log of any kind to post. I'm running 64-bit. I think both times I was reverting to the SPH or reloading a quicksave. Any ideas? Sorry if there is something obvious I'm missing Edit: Both times I think I reloaded after a crash, where a kerbals died

I think the space for monoprop should still be there, but empty by default when you select the part from the parts list, like how ore tanks are empty. Another thing I would like to change the default for is brakes. They should be on by default, unless it will break craft. Or am I being silly and there is a way to toggle this in the SPH/VAB?

What fraction of Titan's mass is it's atmosphere?
-
What's the camo mod again? Edit: And I equipped my SB-1 'Dragonfly' bomber with @MiffedStarfish's bombs and missiles:

Same here. Well, I live in the Uk, So it's not called that, but google thinks we are a similar age. I'd like to do something with engineering, possibly Aerospace. The only 2020 vision I have is the vision of me, still at school, in 2020. So no piloting there, not that it is something I'd particularly like to do as a job. Currently I've been starting out on making an RC plane with a friend, who is also interested in engineering and better than me at it The motors and such seem expensive, so we'll try not to break them Something musk-y would be interesting to do...I just need an idea... Not sure if I'm smart enough to be an engineer really. I'm not good at revising for or doing tests, but I'm still considered by most in my class as 'smart' (I think). Hopefully by the time I get to my GCSEs I'll realise I have to actually revise and work hard to get good results I have fun at school though, so I don't mind waiting to get to the real world

How about 'Cirrus', referring to a wispy cloud normally found higher than most other types of cloud?
-
Now that we have finally decided that spaceplanes may not (and probably will not) be an efficient way to get off of Eve, why not Edit the original post and title and convert this into a 'payload to eve orbit' challenge? Please also be much clearer with your stated values, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 500k. 500km? If the 'cloud cities' are at 500km, then they are in orbit and their wings are not helping them. Also the thing about 12.6g something. I think you are referring to gravity, but what is the gravity at the surface? The gravity does not change much as you go up. Honestly I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve here
